Shen Sui, the eldest aunt of the Shen family, and Shen Shuyuan, the father of Shen Ning, are both born of the same mother. They were both born to the old master Shen's ex-wife.
Shen Sui's husband was Shen Shuyuan's classmate, and it was through this relationship that the two became acquainted.
