Shen Ning's injuries were severe; even the slightest movement was excruciatingly painful. However, since she woke up, her injuries have improved day by day. Her wounds, which were already close to healing, completely scabbed over in less than two days, and fell off completely on the fourth day, leaving pink scars. She was finally able to get out of bed.
I lost too much blood, and although I've taken a lot of tonics these past few days, it's impossible to replenish it immediately.
As soon as Shen Ning stood up, she felt dizzy. If it weren't for the two maids supporting her, she probably would have fallen straight to the ground.
Green Plum patted her reassuringly: "Don't rush it, you still need to rest properly, but it's good to get up and move around a bit."
The two men helped her walk around the room and back to bed. Shen Ning was exhausted and felt completely drained.
I'm still too weak. The main problem is the lingering pain in my shoulder and the itching as the wound heals. It's been a double whammy.
Shen Ning rested in bed for another day, and this time she was finally able to go out to see Yu Zhu.
Yu Zhu was in a room less than ten feet ahead of where Shen Ning was. A woman in her forties was doing needlework while watching over someone.
She didn't recognize Shen Ning, but she understood after seeing the two maids, one in green and one in purple.
"Miss Yuzhu is awake, but the doctor said that she should not get out of bed yet, and she should not get too emotional. She should rest quietly."
Shen Ning nodded: "Thank you, Aunt Liu, you've worked hard."
Aunt Liu smiled at her and said, "You're too kind, young lady."
Shen Ning entered the room and saw Yu Zhu on the bed after only a few steps. Yu Zhu seemed to want to get up, so Shen Ning quickly went over and pressed her down.
"Don't move, be good, lie still, I'm here."
Yu Zhu lay there, her head wrapped in a thin cloth, only one eye showing. Upon seeing Chen Ning, she instantly burst into tears: "Miss, sob sob sob..."
Shen Ning's eyes also stung with tears, but she forced them back and took a handkerchief to wipe Yu Zhu's tears: "Don't cry, I'm here, silly girl. Don't cry, we're all alive, we're all fine."
The attempt to comfort her only made Yuzhu cry harder.
Shen Ning's tears were instantly stirred and fell in large drops like broken beads.
She remembered what Aunt Liu had said about not letting Yuzhu get too emotional, so she quickly wiped away her tears and gently stroked Yuzhu's cheeks to comfort her.
"Don't cry, everything will be alright. When you get better, I'll buy you pretty clothes and your favorite snacks. Don't cry."
It took Yuzhu a while to calm down.
"Miss, how are your injuries?" She remembered what Aunt Liu had said: her young lady had been stabbed several times and was on the verge of death. Was she better now? She hoped she wasn't just putting on a brave face.
Shen Ning sat up straight: "It's alright, I'm much better now, I just need to rest for a couple more days."
Then Shen Ning took off her shoes and got into bed. The two lay side by side, and the worries in her heart finally came to an end.
Seeing that Yuzhu was still alive, Shen Ning was very relieved. If her health allowed, she would have taken Yuzhu home immediately. Her only regret was that she had not yet met the person who had saved them.
The itching from her wound was unbearable, so Shen Ning didn't want to stay in bed. She spent most of her time talking to Yu Zhu and occasionally taking a walk in the nearby garden.
There is a tree in this courtyard that is laden with persimmons.
In the golden autumn season, the persimmons on the trees have turned yellow, and the sight is even more delightful after the leaves have fallen.
Shen Ning loved this fruitful scene and would always stand here for a while whenever she came across it.
Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a figure out of the corner of her eye. She turned around abruptly, but before she could see clearly, the person had turned into a blur and appeared in front of her in the blink of an eye.
Suddenly they were very close, and all she could see was the dark pattern on his clothes, the alluring fragrance wafting from his nose, and she could even feel the heat emanating from his body.
"Thump."
She was stunned, but she clearly heard her heart pound violently.
However, the other person quickly stepped back, holding a persimmon that had just fallen in their hand.
The persimmons were perfectly ripe and incredibly soft, yet they remained intact in his hands.
He looked at her with a smile, a hint of teasing in his voice: "You're so greedy, the persimmons you're staring at are so tempting they're practically falling off and you can eat them."
Shen Ning looked at him, surprised yet not so surprised: "Young Master Qin."
It turned out that Qin Zhuo was the one who saved her...
Shen Ning immediately bowed and thanked him, saying, "Thank you for saving my life, Young Master Qin."
She owed him twice, and each time the debt was heavier than the last.
Qin Zhuo gently squeezed the persimmon: "Last time you begged me for help and went bankrupt, now I'm saving your life, how will you repay me?"
This question really stumped Shen Ning. She was a businesswoman, and besides money, she couldn't find a way to repay him. And he wouldn't even accept money from her.
This is truly a difficult situation.
Seeing her deep in thought, Qin Zhuo chuckled and teased, "Why don't you say that you have no way to repay the life-saving grace but to offer yourself in gratitude?"
Shen Ning paused for a moment, looked Qin Zhuo up and down, and then smiled: "I can accept offering myself in return, but I'm afraid it would be unfair to Young Master Qin."
After all, Qin Zhuo's appearance had amazed her; if she were to repay him with her body, who knows who would suffer the most?
Qin Zhuo hadn't expected her to say that, but after thinking about it, he understood.
He raised an eyebrow meaningfully: "I was just joking with you, and you actually took it seriously. Remember this: your life will belong to me from now on."
After saying that, he turned around and said, "Go back now, it's time to take your medicine."
Shen Ning was filled with gratitude for Qin Zhuo and didn't think much of it, so she followed him two steps behind.
Shen Ning didn't know where she was, but it was most likely the Qin residence.
Qin Zhuo saved her and brought her back for treatment. I heard that he used many precious medicines. If it weren't for him, she and Yu Zhu would probably have really died.
The more she owed, the more indebted she felt; she truly felt indebted, and it was a debt she couldn't repay.
Lost in thought, I tripped over a protruding paving stone and suddenly lurched forward.
Before she could exclaim in surprise, a hand gently supported her arm and helped her stand up straight.
Qin Zhu frowned. Didn't the doctor say she was recovering very well? Why was she so weak? "Can you walk?"
His large hand firmly gripped her elbow, the strength passing through her clothes. Shen Ning was a little embarrassed: "Yes, I just accidentally kicked it..."
Upon hearing this, Qin Zhuo released her, but this time he didn't walk as fast; instead, he walked alongside her.
Although he didn't turn his head, Shen Ning could feel that he was watching her closely, ready to catch her if she fell.
The rumored arrogant and unruly devil is surprisingly thoughtful and considerate.
"Young master."
Green Plum and Purple Beauty bowed, carrying the medicine that Shen Ning had taken and the medicine that had been changed.
Qin Zhuo did not go in, but waved for them to take care of Shen Ning.
Inside the room, Green Plum winked mischievously at Shen Ning: "Miss, you've finally met my young master. How is he? Handsome or not?"
Shen Ning's cheeks flushed slightly, but she answered frankly, "Jun, in all my life, you are unparalleled."
