Chapter 10 Busy Laifu

Ever since learning to walk Xiao Dad, little Lai Fu seems to be becoming more and more clever and smarter. Oh, let me briefly introduce Lai Fu. Lai Fu is a local pastoral dog from Blue Star, a mixed-race dog with snow-white fur. Its mother is a yellow, white and black short-legged dog from the next village. Lai Fu also inherited its genes, with short and stocky little feet and a round body. When he runs, his short legs can move very fast. From a distance, he looks like a round lump of meat rolling around, which is very cute.

Now, Lai Fu has not only learned to unlock and open the door by himself, but also no longer needs Xiao's father to walk him early in the morning. He has become a mature dog and can walk himself every day!

Lai Fu gets up early in the morning at dawn every day, goes out through his own small door next to the main gate, and then first circles his own territory at the doorstep and nearby, and then runs around all over the mountains and fields. From time to time, a flash of white appears among the green hills.

Lai Fu runs along the mountain trail every morning, occasionally startling a flock of flying birds out of the woods, and occasionally harassing a pair of egrets living by the river. The egret couple both fly up from the river, circling gracefully in the sky, the snow-white egrets slowly flapping their wings and flying over the green river that surrounds the green mountains like a ribbon. In the early morning, white mist lingers in the mountains under the blue sky, between the green mountains and green waters, there are flying egrets and white dogs jumping in the green bushes. Xiao Bai gets up early and sees this beautiful scene, and he can't help but feel infinite emotion in his heart.

"Laifu is out again. These days, he goes out early every morning and brings back all these messes. Come and see what they are."

Mother Xiao was holding a pile of messy things in her hands, spreading them all on the ground, and picking them up one by one to look through them.

When Xiao Bai took a look, he saw the ground covered with various weeds and stones, some half-rotten dead wood, some things that looked like bupleurum roots, and some animal bones, plant tubers and seeds that he couldn't identify.

"What is this? It's not the bones of a dead rat, is it? Throw it away quickly! And this rotten wood, why is Lai Fu just like you, picking up everything and bringing it home!" Mother Xiao threw the bones of an unknown animal out of the wall in disgust.

Xiao Bai pouted unconvincedly: "This doesn't mean you're being punished for anything. How could I just pick up something and take it home?"

Mother Xiao picked up a thumb-sized, translucent, crystal-like stone and examined it carefully. "When you were little, you were always picking up random things. You'd always bring back stones from the river. Every night before bed, I'd search your pockets and throw the stones out, only for you to find them again the next day. Even after growing up, you still can't break this habit. You brought back a stone just a few days ago."

"That was when I was 5 or 6 years old. I wouldn't pick things up randomly now."

"But this stone is pretty nice. It's just a little bit smaller than the one you picked up before. But it's also good for landscaping."

"Hey, Mom, I didn't pick up any rocks!"

"Okay, okay, I didn't pick it up. Look, does this look like Ganoderma?" Xiao's mother said as she picked up the half-rotten wood. She saw a small, yellow Ganoderma lucidum the length of a finger growing on it. Xiao Bai touched it with his hand. It felt a bit hard and woody. It really looked like a Ganoderma lucidum, but what was it good for? Was it a medicinal herb? No! Besides that, he found something as thick as a finger and looked like ginseng. Xiao Bai scratched his head.

"Is this wild ginseng? Or is it the root of the Chinese wolfberry? Do you know it, Mom?"

"Whatever, put these away first and throw the others away."

Mother Xiao and Xiao Bai dug for a long time, leaving only the small transparent crystal-like stone, the half piece of wood with Ganoderma lucidum growing on it, and the root of a plant that was not sure whether it was ginseng. They threw all the others outside the wall.

Mother Xiao placed the half piece of wood in the orchid pot on the shelf of the living room's eight-immortals table, next to the diamond-shaped crystal stone. After a few adjustments, she created a beautiful scene. Then, she placed the small crystal stone next to the large diamond-shaped crystal. The large and small, slightly luminous crystals looked just right. Mother Xiao clapped her hands in satisfaction and turned back to her work.

The moment Mother Xiao turned around, she saw the large diamond-shaped crystal emitting a faint white light. This light gradually covered the smaller white crystals, which gradually became smaller and smaller, and then gradually disappeared. The orchid planted in the flowerpot and the Ganoderma lucidum on the wood, covered in the white light, became more and more vigorous at a visible speed. The orchid even began to sprout several thin buds from its roots, and the Ganoderma lucidum on the wood also grew visibly larger.
