Chapter 133 Stop Playing Clueless

Chapter 133 Stop Playing Clueless

After hanging up the phone, the worries in my heart grew like weeds. I always felt that this current situation concealed unknown dangers.

So I quickly changed into casual clothes, picked up my phone, and decided to take action immediately.

Gu Bai was standing by the water dispenser in the kitchen drinking water. Suddenly he saw me getting ready to go out. He frowned and said in a somewhat cold tone, "Where are you going so late?"

"I have something urgent to deal with. I'll be back soon." I answered while lowering my head to put on my shoes.

Since there was no store selling surveillance equipment near my home, I had to go to a farther place to buy two surveillance cameras.

By the time I returned home with the bag, the clock had already quietly pointed to past eight o'clock.

However, faced with the surveillance camera in my hand, I was at a loss as to where to start installing it.

Just then, the sound of me walking back and forth startled Gu Bai who was in the room.

He opened the door and saw me standing at the door hesitantly. He showed a surprised expression on his face and asked with a frown: "It's the middle of the night, why don't you go back to your own home, what are you doing standing here?"

I held up the surveillance camera in my hand, pointed to the garbage pile next to me, and explained seriously: "I plan to install a surveillance camera so that I can know who throws garbage at our doorstep."

Gu Bai glanced at me, then looked up at the height of the ceiling, as if he understood my intention.

He took the surveillance camera from me silently, then turned back to the house and said, "I'll go get the ladder."

After a while, Gu Bai had installed all the surveillance systems inside and outside the house.

I couldn't wait to take out my phone to debug it. Looking at the clear surveillance footage outside the door, I nodded with satisfaction: "I feel relieved now."

After returning to the bedroom, I had just sat down when I received a text message from Qin Lei.

He told me that he already had cell phone evidence and would be able to prosecute soon.

This good news was like a shot in the arm, bringing some comfort to my uneasy mood.

The next morning, I went to school as usual, still thinking about Hongyu's matter.

Suddenly, there was a shout from behind: "Stop right there!"

I turned around in confusion, only to see Song Yuan running towards me with an angry look on her face. As soon as she got to me, she loudly asked me, "Why can't you let my brother go?"

I was stunned for a moment, completely confused.

I haven't seen Song Le for a long time, and he is almost fading from my memory. If she and Jiang Yichen hadn't always appeared in front of me, I might have really forgotten his existence.

I responded coldly: "I don't understand what you are talking about."

After saying that, I turned around and tried to leave, but he suddenly grabbed my arm.

"Stop pretending to be confused here! If it weren't for you, how could my brother refuse the blind date arranged by our family?" Song Yuan's voice was full of anger.

Faced with her unreasonable questioning, I felt helpless: "Song Le is a thoughtful and independent person. It is his own decision to refuse the blind date. What does it have to do with me?"

Song Yuan became more and more arrogant: "If you hadn't bewitched my brother, how could he have made my father sick because of such a small matter?"

Her statements became more and more outrageous, and she insisted on blaming me for not going on the blind date with her brother.

I reiterated, "I didn't! Please move aside, I still have to go to class."

However, Song Yuan was like a madman, holding me tightly and saying, "Don't leave! If you don't explain this matter clearly today, I won't let you go."

I struggled hard, trying to pry his fingers apart. I finally broke free and stepped back.

Unexpectedly, Song Yuan seemed to have lost her mind and pushed me to the ground.

I supported myself on the ground with my hands, and the rough sand rubbed my palms so hard that they hurt and even broke the skin.

Just then, Song Yuan raised his hand again and was about to take action, but a roar suddenly sounded, interrupting his action.

We looked in the direction of the sound and saw Jiang Yichen walking towards us with big strides.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Yichen's voice was filled with unquestionable authority.

Song Yuan was obviously afraid of Jiang Yichen. She subconsciously took two steps back, but still pointed at me and cursed loudly, "This bitch is two-timing. Mr. Jiang, you'd better open your eyes and take a good look! She's flirting with you, and she won't let my brother go!"

After saying that, Song Yuan left angrily.

Jiang Yichen came forward and helped me up. When he saw the wound on my hand, his brows furrowed.

He took out a handkerchief from his pocket, wiped the sand off my hands, and blew on them gently.

Of course, he didn't forget what Song Yuan said, and asked me gloomily, "Is what he said true?"

I suddenly felt aggrieved. I was obviously the victim, being slandered and vilified one after another. The most hateful thing was that Jiang Yichen didn't even believe me.

I angrily tried to shake off Jiang Yichen's hand, but unexpectedly he held it even tighter.

My wrist was pinched so hard that it even made a "crunching" sound, and the wound on the palm of my hand also felt a burning pain.

"Jiang Yichen, you hurt me!" I couldn't help but shout.

Jiang Yichen stared at me coldly and asked again: "I'm asking you, is what he said true?"

I glared at him, feeling a mixture of grievance and anger. I retorted, "Is it true? Can't you check it yourself? Why are you asking me?"

The two of us were in a stalemate over this matter. I was determined not to admit my mistake to him, and he seemed to be waiting for me to give a satisfactory answer.

However, at this moment, the appearance of a person broke the deadlock.

The principal seemed to have learned about Jiang Yichen's arrival from some channel. He ran over with a smile and greeted Jiang Yichen enthusiastically.

"Mr. Jiang, I've heard of your name for a long time! Today I finally get to meet you in person." The principal said enthusiastically.

Then, he turned his gaze to me and said more enthusiastically, "Thank you so much, Xiao Gu, for considering the school and everyone and inviting Mr. Jiang here."

I felt a little dizzy after hearing this. When did I ask Jiang Yichen to come over? I was about to open my mouth to explain, but the principal was too excited to listen to me at all. He dragged Jiang Yichen to the principal's office.

"Mr. Jiang, it's inconvenient with so many people coming and going here. Let's go to the office and talk. Xiao Gu, come with us." The principal said enthusiastically.

"Principal, I..." I was about to speak but was interrupted by the principal.

He turned to look at Jiang Yichen and began to enthusiastically introduce the school: "Mr. Jiang, look at that building over there. It's newly built and it was invested by you. I really want to thank you on behalf of all the teachers and students in the school! That's the library, but..."
