Chapter 196 Escape Route

Chapter 196 Escape Route

Jiang Yichen's car was in excellent condition. He looked back at the unconscious Gu Mo with a frown on his face, full of worry.

At this time, the oncoming truck hit the railing violently, and the vehicle behind was still chasing it.

Jiang Yichen reacted quickly and turned the steering wheel again. The car suddenly reversed, knocking away the approaching vehicles one by one, then restarted and sped forward.

While moving at full speed, he anxiously called out to Gu Mo, hoping that she would wake up.

In the collision just now, Gu Mo's forehead was injured due to inertia, blood was oozing out, her face was pale, and her eyes were closed. It was obvious that she had fainted due to fright.

Jiang Yichen was afraid that Gu Mo would lose too much blood, so he stepped on the accelerator, got rid of the vehicles behind him, drove the car to an abandoned factory in the suburbs and hid there, then carefully carried the heroine out.

There were simple medical equipment in the car. He quickly treated Gu Mo's wounds and gently patted her cheek, trying to wake her up.

In a daze, I only felt a dull pain on my cheeks, as if a heavy burden was pressing on my eyelids. No matter how hard I struggled, I couldn't open my eyes.

I could vaguely hear Jiang Yichen's anxious and urgent call in my ears. His voice was full of endless concern and worry, which made my fingers curl up slightly involuntarily.

Finally, after unremitting efforts, my eyes slowly opened and my vision gradually became clear.

I looked at Jiang Yichen in front of me in confusion and asked puzzledly: "What's wrong? What happened?"

The only thing I remember is the car speeding towards me before I passed out. As for what happened afterwards, it was a blank. I couldn't help but exclaimed, "Oh my!"

When Jiang Yichen saw me wake up, his tense nerves finally relaxed and a relieved smile appeared on his face.

He advised with concern: "Try to stand up and walk around first to get used to it. The danger is not over yet. We must leave this dangerous place as soon as possible."

I looked down at my injuries and found that I only had some minor injuries on my forehead, and there was nothing serious happening in other parts of my body.

The car accident I just experienced still has lingering fears in my mind. My legs are so weak that I can hardly stand.

With Jiang Yichen's help, we carefully crossed the open space and hid in the dense reed marsh behind the factory.

The car behind chased closely and finally found Jiang Yichen's parked car.

"Is that car Jiang Yichen's?" One of the men pointed at a black car and asked doubtfully.

"Go and have a look."

Several men in black ran in the direction of the car.

Seeing that there was no one in the car, several people quickly got out and began to look for us.

Jiang Yichen, who was hiding, looked alert. He took out his phone to record the scene in the distance and whispered, "You hide here, don't make any noise, and don't come out no matter what happens."

I grabbed his wrist and asked worriedly, "Where are you going?"

He patted my hand gently and said soothingly, "Don't worry, it's okay. I'm just going to see if there are any other routes to escape."

Then he quietly approached the men in black from behind the reeds.

However, the men in black were also extremely vigilant, and as soon as Jiang Yichen approached, he was noticed by one of them.

The man turned around suddenly and started wrestling with Jiang Yichen.

I hid aside and stared at this scene closely, my heart filled with anxiety and worry, my hands clenched into fists, my nails digging deeply into my palms without me realizing it.

Jiang Yichen was agile and quickly gained the upper hand, but his opponent was extremely difficult to deal with and wouldn't let go.

At this critical moment, I caught a glimpse of a huge stone next to me. I picked up the stone without hesitation, rushed out, and smashed it on the back of the man's head with all my strength.

There was a dull thud and the man fell to the ground, unconscious.

Jiang Yichen was slightly stunned by my action, but then he reacted quickly, took my hand and protected me behind him.

Jiang Yichen quickly searched the searcher, but unfortunately, he did not find any valuable clues and knew nothing about the man's identity.

I looked at Jiang Yichen's furrowed brows, my heart full of worry, and I asked softly, "What should we do now?"

Jiang Yichen's eyes flashed with determination, and he said in a deep voice: "I know who did it."

As he spoke, he found a strong rope from the car, tied up the unconscious searcher tightly, and threw him into the back seat. He turned to look at me and motioned for her to get in the car quickly.

Although I had many doubts in my mind, I still persuaded her: "Let's call the police. It's safer this way."

However, Jiang Yichen shook his head and said firmly: "No, I can handle it myself."

Along the way, Jiang Yichen remained silent and looked solemn.

He drove me directly back to the Jiang family’s gate.

But I didn't want to get off the bus. I insisted, "I want to go too, or no one should go."

But Jiang Yichen frowned and said in a serious tone: "Stop fooling around, you need to rest now."

"Besides, if you're beside me, I won't perform well and will easily fall behind."

I observed Jiang Yichen's unquestionable look, and I also became stubborn, "You mean I'm a burden? So you don't want to take me with you?"

Jiang Yichen suddenly felt a headache. He opened the car door, pulled me out, picked me up, carried me into the house, and left in a hurry.

I jogged all the way, following closely behind him, and finally blocked his car resolutely.

His vehicle had already started, but he braked suddenly and stopped steadily.

He got out of the car reluctantly, his brows furrowed, his eyes filled with reproach and confusion, and asked, "What exactly do you want to do?"

I took a deep breath, looked at him firmly, and said with unquestionable determination: "I don't want to do anything special, but I don't want to see you take risks alone."

Jiang Yichen's heart moved slightly. He slowly got out of the car and explained to me in a gentle but firm tone: "I will be fine, don't worry."

His eyes were full of comfort and promise to me.

My tears were like beads that had broken off the string, and they kept falling.

I choked with sobs, my voice filled with endless worry and reluctance.

Seeing this, Jiang Yichen's tone became more urgent: "There is really no time to waste. When the people in the car wake up, I will be in greater danger."

I quickly wiped my tears with my sleeves, suppressed the reluctance and worry in my heart, and made way.

I stared at Jiang Yichen closely, my voice trembling but firm: "You must be careful, I'll wait for you to come back."

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. I'll be back soon."

I watched Jiang Yichen leave, my heart hanging in the air.

I walked back in a daze. Grandma looked at my absent-minded look and asked worriedly, "What happened? You're back, why is he gone again?"

"Ah!? He had something to do at the company, so he didn't come back. He left after sending me back. It's okay, grandma, let's go upstairs first."
