Chapter 303 Stretch Marks

Chapter 303 Stretch Marks

"What is this?" I pointed at my stomach, my voice trembling a little.

He looked in the direction of my finger and frowned slightly: "It's just stretch marks, it's normal, don't worry too much."

"Normal?" I raised my head, my eyes a little hot, "How can it be normal? I never thought that I would have such a thing..."

He put down the book, put his arms around me, and said softly, "Don't think too much. This is what every mother goes through. You are beautiful, whether you have these stripes or not, you are still beautiful."

I leaned in his arms, but my heart was still blocked. Although his words were warm, the feeling of loss surged up like a tide and I couldn't suppress it. I looked down at the stripes, feeling mixed emotions.

"I don't want this..." I whispered, my voice choking.

He patted my back gently, as if comforting a child: "It's okay, after the baby is born, we can find a way to downplay it. The most important thing now is your health and the baby's health."

I nodded and said nothing more.

He let me go, picked up the book and continued to read, muttering something softly, as if he was giving prenatal education to his child. I looked at his profile, feeling a little complicated.

But that stretch mark is like a thorn in my heart that I can't pull out.

The next day at noon, Jiang Yichen had something urgent to do and passed by my house. He wanted to come back to see what I was doing. He pushed open the door, still holding a briefcase in his hand, with a tired look on his face. While changing his shoes, he shouted into the house: "Grandma, I'm back."

Grandma was sitting in a rocking chair in the living room, fanning herself with a palm leaf fan. When she heard his voice, she looked up and smiled, "You're back? Why are you here so early today?"

Jiang Yichen walked to the sofa and sat down, putting his briefcase aside and rubbing his temples: "There's nothing to do at the company today, so I came back early. Where's Gu Mo? How is she today?"

Grandma paused for a moment while fanning herself with the palm-leaf fan in her hand, her eyes drifted for a moment, and then she returned to her normal state: "Gu Mo, she was very well behaved today, she has been resting in her room and has not gone out."

Jiang Yichen frowned, with a hint of doubt in his tone: "Really? Why did I hear her say that she had an important meeting to attend today?"

Grandma waved the palm-leaf fan in her hand again and said in a relaxed tone: "Oh, did you hear wrong? She didn't go anywhere today. She just stayed at home watching TV with me. We also had lunch together. She had a good appetite."

Jiang Yichen stared at his grandmother for a few seconds, and felt that something was wrong. His grandmother's expression looked natural, but he still felt something was strange. He sighed, with a bit of helplessness in his tone: "Grandma, please don't follow her in deceiving me. She has to be careful with her current condition."

Grandma put down the palm-leaf fan, reached out and patted the back of his hand, and said in a relaxed tone: "Don't worry, I know what's going on. Gu Mo is a child who knows how to act."

Jiang Yichen didn't say anything else, but he felt a little uneasy. He guessed that I had begged my grandmother for a long time before she agreed to help her keep it a secret.

But he didn't expect that grandma would actually lie with her. He stood up, walked to the door of the room, gently opened the door and took a look.

The room was empty, and the bed was neatly made, obviously no one had ever slept there. Jiang Yichen frowned, feeling a little complicated. He turned back to the living room, watching his grandmother still smiling and fanning herself with a palm-leaf fan, feeling helpless and a little amused.

"Grandma, please don't hide it from me." He sat next to his grandmother, with a bit of helplessness in his tone, "I know Gu Mo went out, please don't follow her and lie to me."

Grandma paused for a moment while fanning herself with the palm-leaf fan in her hand, then she laughed, "Oh, you found out. Gu Mo begged me for a long time before I agreed. She said today's matter was very important and she didn't want you to worry."

Jiang Yichen sighed, his tone was a little doting: "You, you just dote on her too much."

Grandma patted his hands with a smile: "You two are both more stubborn than each other. I am doing this for your own good. Gu Mo knows what's going on, don't worry too much."

At this time, I received a call from the doctor on my way there.

My heart tightened, and I quickly replied: "I'm in a meeting, what's the matter?"

"Your test results are out. It is recommended that you stay in the hospital for observation for a few days." The doctor's voice came through the phone, like a heavy hammer hitting my heart.

"Hospitalization?" I was stunned for a moment, and shook my head subconsciously, "No, I have a lot of work recently, so I can't be hospitalized."

"But your physical condition needs close attention, especially at this stage. You can't be careless." The doctor's tone was firm and unquestionable.

I held the phone, feeling a little flustered. Work, children, health... everything was like a tangled mess, making it hard for me to breathe. I took a deep breath and tried to sound calm: "I know, I'll think about it."

At the same time, he walked into the room, opened the closet, and found a brand new maternity dress inside. It was elegant in style and soft in texture, and was obviously carefully selected. Reaching out and touching the clothes, Jiang Yichen understood that I would not change what I had decided.

He sighed, took out his phone, and sent me a message: "Is the meeting over? Remember to go home early."

"Just finished, going back right away."

Jiang Yichen put down his phone and felt a little relieved.

He walked to the kitchen and said to his grandmother, "Grandma, I'm going to go out for a while and will be back soon."

Grandma nodded, with a hint of teasing in her tone: "Go ahead, go ahead, and remember to bring some delicious food for Momo."

Jiang Yichen smiled and walked out the door. He drove to a nearby high-end maternity clothing store and picked out a few sets of the latest maternity clothes, as well as some comfortable flat shoes and loose coats.

When checking out, the clerk smiled and asked, "Are you buying this for your wife? That's very thoughtful of you."

He didn't say anything, but he felt a little complicated. He knew that what I needed was not only material support, but more importantly, his understanding and companionship.

Stepping into the famous five-star hotel in the city center, the door of the international conference venue slowly opened in front of me. The dazzling crystal chandelier hung high above, illuminating the entire hall as bright as day. The light refracted through the crystals to create a dreamy halo, giving every corner a layer of luxurious gold.

Businessmen in neat suits are like well-trained dancers, moving around in this business stage with their own thoughts.

They gathered in groups of two or three, talking in low voices, the subtle sounds of their voices interweaving together like a mysterious movement, each note seemed to contain endless business secrets, permeating and fermenting in the air.
