Chapter 323 A Decision Must Be Made

Chapter 323 A Decision Must Be Made

I raised my head, handed him the phone, and said in a trembling voice: "Look for yourself."

Jiang Yichen took the phone and saw the photo, his face suddenly changed. He squatted down, held my hand, and hurriedly explained: "Don't think too much! She is Chen Ting, from a cooperative company. She did come to see me tonight, but I have clearly rejected her. This photo was taken deliberately like this, don't be fooled!"

Seeing his anxious look, my doubts were slightly relieved, but I was still a little uneasy: "But... why is she pestering you so much?"

Jiang Yichen sighed, sat next to me, and gently touched my belly: "Don't be angry, don't be angry, now is the most important moment."

"I know it's a big day, but I'm going to feel insecure too."

Since entering these last few months, my mood swings have become noticeably greater, especially this month.

I tried to calm myself down.

After thinking for a while, I leaned on his shoulder and felt a little relieved. But at this moment, my stomach suddenly ached, and I couldn't help but frowned, and my fingers tightly grasped his sleeves.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Yichen immediately noticed that something was wrong with me and asked nervously.

"My stomach... hurts so much..." I held my stomach, cold sweat already breaking out on my forehead.

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, give it to me right away and I'll take you to the hospital."

The pain was so severe that I almost passed out and didn't have the energy to respond to Jiang Yichen.

At the same time, my grandmother was already asleep. When she heard the news, she and Jiang Yichen immediately sent me to the hospital.

The pale lights in the hospital corridor were as cold as ice. He was alone outside the delivery room, anxious as an ant on a hot pot. He urgently notified my whole family. Gu Bai was the first to arrive at the hospital: "How could it be so sudden?"

The smell of disinfectant was so pungent that it went straight into his nose, but he didn't care about it at all.

"......" Facing Gu Bai's questioning, Jiang Yichen remained silent, praying in his heart for the safety of mother and child.

He walked back and forth, his steps were chaotic and hurried, and he kept muttering: "Why are you not well yet? Why haven't you come out yet..."

And at this moment, I am in the delivery room, experiencing the most difficult moment of my life.

The pain of contractions came in waves like a surging tide.

Each time it felt like it was tearing my body apart. I clutched the sheets tightly, my nails almost digging into the fabric.

My knuckles turned white and beads of sweat the size of beans rolled down my forehead, soaking the hair on my forehead.

"Push harder! Push harder!" the doctor's voice rang in my ears. But I could only feel my strength fading away bit by bit.

I wanted to respond, to do what the doctor said, but my throat seemed blocked, and I could only utter faint, painful moans.

"No... I can't do it anymore..." I screamed desperately in my heart. Every contraction made me feel extremely scared and helpless.

I began to miss him outside the delivery room, and I wished he could be by my side to give me strength.

He was outside the delivery room, his brows were twisted into knots, his eyes were red from staying up late, and his lips were dry and chapped. He regretted that he should have stayed at home with me during this time.

But he didn't notice at all that the clock on the wall was ticking so slowly, and every second was torturing him. His mind was full of mixed thoughts. Sometimes he was worried that I couldn't bear the pain, and sometimes he was afraid of accidents during delivery.

Those bad images kept turning around in his mind, and the more he thought about it, the more scared he became, and his heart almost jumped into his throat. From time to time, he would go to the door of the delivery room and press his ear against it, trying to hear clearly what was going on inside.

But apart from the occasional vague sound, he couldn't understand anything. Every time he couldn't hear anything, his heart sank a little more and he kept rubbing his hands in anxiety.

A nurse passed by and saw how anxious he was, so she said softly, "Sir, don't be too anxious. Giving birth takes time. Just relax."

He forced out a smile that was uglier than crying and nodded.

But as soon as the nurse left, he began to walk around the corridor again, his hands clenched into fists, the veins on the back of his hands bulging.

At this time, the whole family had already arrived at the hospital.

In the delivery room, I felt like I had reached my limit. I could feel the doctors and nurses working very hard.

But I couldn't muster any strength. Just when I was about to give up, his face appeared in my mind. I remembered his daily care and love for me. "I can't give up. I want to watch the child grow up with him." I encouraged myself in my heart.

I gathered my last bit of strength, and with a loud yell, I felt something being pulled out of my body.

Then, a faint cry sounded in the delivery room. "The baby will be out soon!" the doctor's voice came.

I didn't even have the energy to be happy, I just closed my eyes weakly. He was outside the delivery room, and suddenly heard a weak cry from the delivery room. He was stunned for a moment, and then his eyes lit up like a light: "The baby is born!"

He was so happy that he almost jumped up, but before he could be happy for a while, there was silence again.

His heart skipped a beat, and the joy that had just emerged was gone.

Instead, there is overwhelming fear.

"Why is there no movement again? Did something happen? How is she?"

He paced back and forth at the door of the delivery room, muttering to himself. His feet were numb from walking, and he felt that time was passing too slowly, and every second was torture. He kept praying to God in his heart, asking him to be safe.

I don’t know how long it was before the door of the delivery room finally opened.

He rushed over and seized the doctor's arm.

His eyes were full of panic and expectation: "Doctor, what's the situation now?" The doctor's face was very solemn.

He slowly took off his mask, his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and his eyes revealed a hint of helplessness and reluctance.

"The child..., but the mother suffered serious complications during the delivery."

"The situation is very critical."

"Now we are faced with a difficult choice: to save the elder or the younger."

"You must make a decision as soon as possible." His face turned pale in an instant. As if all the blood had been sucked out of him, his body began to tremble slightly, his eyes widened in disbelief, his lips trembled constantly, but he could not utter a word.

"Doctor, please, think of another solution."

"There has to be another way, right?"

"There must be a way to keep them all safe!"

His voice was tearful and he pleaded almost desperately, his hands tightly grasping the doctor's white coat until his knuckles turned white.

The doctor shook his head helplessly.

His face was full of sorrow: "We have tried our best."

"The situation is urgent now and there is not much time left."

"You have to make a decision right now."
