I took a deep breath and tried to make my voice sound calm: "He helped me solve the murder case, so I invited him to have a meal here to express my gratitude."
Gu Bai frowned when he heard this, and his tone was full of alienation: "Did you promise him something again?"
His words made my face turn even redder, and the words Jiang Yichen said to me that night emerged in my mind.
