Chapter 302 I hope you like it

Chapter 302 I hope you like it

"There's a call." My phone kept vibrating in my bag, and I took it out as I spoke. The familiar name flashed on the screen, and I sighed softly and pressed the answer button.

"Why didn't you go home today?" On the other end of the phone, his voice had a hint of coquettishness, like a child complaining.

I smiled and tried to sound relaxed: "I'll be back later tonight. Qin Yu said..." Before I could finish my sentence, he interrupted me.

"Qin Yu? What kind of cooperation are you talking about again?" His voice suddenly turned cold, as if he had fallen from the warm sunshine into an ice cellar.

"Well, he has some cooperation matters to discuss." I tried to make my voice sound calm, not wanting to complicate the conversation.

"Go home early." His tone was full of unquestionable command, as if he had lost his patience.

"Okay, I got it." I responded softly and hung up the phone.

The car stopped at the door of the agreed restaurant, and Qin Yu was already waiting there. He was wearing a well-tailored suit and holding an exquisite gift box in his hand. When he saw me get out of the car, a polite smile immediately appeared on his face.

"Long time no see, how have you been lately?" He walked forward, speaking in a gentle tone, like an old friend who hadn't seen each other for many years.

"Not bad, how about you?" I responded with a smile, took the gift box he handed me, opened it and saw a jade bracelet inside, crystal clear with a faint luster.

"It's just a small gift, I hope you like it." He nodded slightly, with a hint of humility in his tone.

"Thank you, it's beautiful." I put the bracelet away and followed him into the restaurant.

After sitting down, Qin Yu didn't exchange extra pleasantries and went straight to the point. His fingers tapped the table lightly, his eyes focused and steady, as if everything was under control.

"I have made a detailed plan for the cooperation concept of jade jewelry." He took out a document from his bag and pushed it in front of me. His tone was calm but full of unquestionable confidence. "I have done preliminary analysis on market research, supply chain integration, and brand positioning. I have also contacted Mr. Wen, and he is very interested in our cooperation."

I opened the file and quickly scanned a few pages. The data was detailed, the logic was clear, and there were even some details I had never considered. I had to admit that Qin Yu was indeed well prepared, even a little beyond my expectations.

"If we can reach a long-term cooperation with Mr. Wen, it can even be extended to areas such as gold and diamonds in the future." Qin Yu's voice was low and powerful, as if it carried some kind of magic, which made people involuntarily attracted to his ideas.

I nodded, but I felt a little uneasy. His plan sounded perfect, but the more perfect something is, the more unreal it seems. I looked up at him, trying to read something from his expression, but he just smiled faintly, his eyes so deep that it was hard to read.

"There will be an international conference in a few days, and I would like to invite you to attend." He suddenly said, his tone as relaxed as if he was talking about the weather, but there was a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

"International conference?" I was stunned for a moment, a little surprised. Although I have participated in some industry conferences before, this is the first time I have attended an international conference.

"Yes, it's mainly about exchanges in the jewelry and luxury goods industries." He picked up the teacup and took a sip, his tone casual, "I think this is a good opportunity for you to get in touch with more resources in the industry."

I hesitated for a moment, but quickly nodded: "Okay, I'll go."

He seemed satisfied with my answer, with a slight smile on his face. We continued chatting for a while, with topics ranging from cooperation ideas to interesting anecdotes in the industry. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. However, I was still a little uneasy, and the tone of his voice on the phone just now kept coming to my mind.

During that phone call, his voice was cold and distant, as if he was deliberately keeping his distance. Although his attitude was as polite as always, that vague sense of alienation made me feel a little blocked.

"How have you been lately?" Qin Yu suddenly asked, with some concern in his tone.

I came back to my senses and forced a smile: "Not bad, just a little busy."

He nodded, without asking any more questions, and just sighed softly: "Don't tire yourself out, some things can be done slowly."

I lowered my head and said nothing. Although his words were gentle, they made me feel more complicated. I knew he meant well, but the vague sense of distance made me feel powerless.

It was time, so I stood up and prepared to leave. Qin Yu also stood up and said in a relaxed tone: "Then I'll wait for your news. I'll send you the specific arrangements for the international conference."

I nodded and forced a smile: "Okay, thank you."

Walking out of the restaurant, the night breeze was cool. I took a deep breath, took out my phone, and sent him a message: "I'll be right back."

The phone vibrated quickly, and his reply was brief and cold: "Yeah."

Qin Yu also stood up and nodded politely: "Okay, be careful on the road."

I put away my phone, feeling a little complicated. Perhaps tonight's conversation was not just about cooperation, but some kind of invisible competition. And I seemed to have been involved in a game that I could not easily get out of.

When I got home, the house was quiet, with only the night light in the corridor still on. Grandma had fallen asleep, and I could hear her even breathing in the room. I tiptoed into the living room and saw him sitting on the sofa, holding a thick book in his hand, frowning slightly, as if he was studying some important documents.

"Are you back?" He looked up at me, his tone indifferent and no emotion could be heard.

"Yeah." I nodded, took off my coat and hung it on the hanger, then walked over to sit next to him.

He closed the book, and I could see the cover clearly - "Encyclopedia of Prenatal Education". He was actually reading this kind of book? I couldn't help laughing out loud: "When did you become interested in this kind of thing?"

He raised his eyebrows, with a hint of helplessness in his tone: "I can't let you worry about it alone, right? Besides, this is our child, I have to be responsible."

Seeing his serious look, I felt warm inside, but I couldn't help but tease him, "So how are you going to take responsibility? Read poems or sing songs for him every day?"

He smiled, reached out and gently touched my belly, his action was so gentle that I was a little surprised: "It's okay, as long as he likes it."

I looked down at his hand and suddenly noticed a faint line on my stomach. I was stunned for a moment, then I looked closer in the mirror. Sure enough, it was a stretch mark. Although it was very light, it was particularly glaring in my eyes.
