Jiang Can took a moment to process what he was saying and suddenly realized something was off!
"Honey, what did you say?" She grabbed his hand frantically, her big eyes fixed on him. "What do you mean by that? You...you're leaving me?"
Huo Zhixing's heart tightened, and he forced a smile.
Jiang Can noticed that the red string was still tied around his wrist.
"Do you really believe what that old lady said?" she asked in a low voice.
"I..." He licked his lips, unsure of what to say.
The problems between them will one day surface like an iceberg hidden beneath the surface. He will do everything in his power to protect her, but he can't guarantee that he will still hold her in his arms like he does now.
"I'm just doing this as a precaution," Huo Zhixing chuckled. "Didn't the old lady say we'd break up?"
"But she also said that we will be happy in the end!"
This is what makes Jiang Can different; she's like a sunflower, always able to see the sunny side.

“Yes, we will be happy.” He smiled and patted her head. “Let’s not talk about this. Weren’t we just talking about you going back to the Jiang family? I want to hear your final decision.”
