Lin Zhaojiang, carrying a late-night snack, gently knocked on the door of Zhu Jingwei's study.
After a long while, a slight sound came from inside: "Come in."
Lin Zhaojiang walked in and saw Zhu Jingwei looking haggard, staring blankly at a pile of manuscripts on the table.
He frowned and placed the late-night snack on the small coffee table next to him.
"Auntie, I heard you haven't eaten anything all night. Come and have something to eat first."
Zhu Jingwei's eyes flickered slightly as she smelled the aroma of the late-night snack wafting over, and her stomach seemed to be starting to rumble.
"This is……"
"Please try it first," Lin Zhaojiang said with a smile.
The late-night snack consisted of a bowl of congee with preserved egg and lean pork, a few vegetarian dumplings, and a refreshing cold dish.
There was also a low-sugar mini cake.
Zhu Jingwei had just taken a sip of the porridge when her taste buds seemed to be awakened. She kept praising it as she ate: "The ingredients are quite simple, but it's delicious! Hey, when did our two chefs learn to cook like this? It doesn't seem like it!"
"Auntie, your taste buds are amazing!" Lin Zhaojiang laughed. "Of course, this wasn't made by our family chef."
Zhu Jingwei paused for a moment, then she knew the answer.
She smiled, put down her chopsticks, and looked up at Lin Zhaojiang: "Don't keep him standing at the door, come in quickly!"
Lin Zhaojiang laughed; nothing could be hidden from his aunt.
Song Wan walked lightly to Zhu Jingwei and nodded slightly.
"You're so thoughtful." Although her face was still stern, Zhu Jingwei's expression had softened considerably. "These things... you used to make for Zhaojiang often?"
Song Wan was stunned for a moment, unsure of what to say.
I don't know if saying this will upset Zhu Jingwei again.
Lin Zhaojiang held her small hand and said gently, "It's true that Wanwan took care of me more in the past, but from now on, I want to take good care of her."
"There's no need to be so nervous, is there?" Zhu Jingwei said, both amused and exasperated. "I don't have any hostility towards Miss Song right now... In fact, I've never disliked Miss Song from the very beginning."
Upon hearing this, Lin Zhaojiang and Song Wan exchanged a smile.
"Your cooking is delicious." Zhu Jingwei looked at Song Wan. "I wish I could eat it more often in the future."
"Isn't that easy?" Lin Zhaojiang said. "From now on, Wanwan will be your nephew's wife, so of course you'll be able to eat here often!"
Zhu Jingwei smiled wryly and shook her head gently.
"Some people used to say they would be my student for life, but later..."
Lin Zhaojiang looked at the stack of manuscripts on the table and couldn't help but feel puzzled.
Zhu Jingwei was indeed heartbroken and extremely angry tonight. Overwhelmed by grief and rage, she was exhausted and spent the entire night sitting in her study.
She glanced at Lin Zhaojiang and Song Wan, then led them to her desk and began to tell them Xu Yanqing's story. She didn't go into too much detail, only mentioning a few specifics, but she clutched the stack of manuscripts tightly in her hands, her voice filled with grief and indignation, the pages trembling slightly.
"Yan Qing wrote all of this!" Zhu Jingwei bit her lip. "I didn't know she had such a work at the time. If I had known, I definitely wouldn't have let Duan Jinrong, that thief, succeed!"
Song Wan carefully read the manuscripts, then looked at Lin Zhaojiang in shock.
"This novel is called 'Dancing Light'..." she exclaimed in surprise, "and the novel Duan Jinrong is currently serializing is called 'Radiant Light'! Even the names are very similar..."
“The outline and character design are even more similar!” She flipped through the pages one by one. “The plot has been changed, but it’s obvious that the plot of ‘Radiant Light’ is more reasonable! That makes sense… I knew it! When I was reading ‘Radiant Light’ before, I always felt that something was wrong. Now all the mysteries are solved!”
“Yes.” Lin Zhaojiang frowned. “I’ve also heard that Duan Jinrong’s novel was questioned. Apparently, people said that her writing was incoherent and that some people objected to her receiving an award for an unfinished novel!”
“Yes,” Song Wan continued, “The novel ‘Radiant Splendor’ has now reached its ninth volume, but there’s still no ending. Many fans are speculating about the ending, but no one can guess!”
"Because this bitch has no brains and can't write it!" Zhu Jingwei cursed. "The plots she made up are full of holes. She doesn't understand how to write a suspense novel at all! The logic is contradictory. Ha, I don't think she can write this ending!"
"That bitch! It's very likely that she only stole the first nine chapters of Yan Qing's novel. When she wanted the ending, Yan Qing had already put the manuscript in the safe, and then... she died."
Zhu Jingwei covered her face with her hands, trying her best to suppress her sobs.
"I will get justice for Yan Qing!" she gritted her teeth. "I will make sure Duan Jinrong is utterly disgraced!"
Lin Zhaojiang gently patted his aunt's shoulder, carefully comforting her.
Just then, the head butler knocked on the door, "Professor Zhu, is President Lin inside?"
"What is it?" Lin Zhaojiang opened the door. "It's so late, is someone from the company looking for me?"
"No, it's the eldest son of the Huo family!" The butler smiled with relief. "The Huo family says there's news about the second son!"

Inside the secret room, He Nianhui and Huo Junyang were huddled together, examining the chip on the belt buckle.
"Don't worry," Huo Junyang said in a low voice. "Look, it's turned green here, which means my brother has received my signal. As long as he receives the signal, he can find our location on the computer, and we'll be able to get out soon!"
He Nianhui gave him a meaningful look, "Take good care of yourself after you get out."
"What did you say?" Huo Junyang was taken aback.
He Nianhui smiled bitterly, raised her hand to ruffle his hair, paused for a moment in mid-air, and then ruffled it hard.
Huo Junyang's hair was messed up by his rubbing.
"Hey, after we get out of here, come back to Yangcheng with me!"
What are you going there for?
"Come to my studio!" Huo Junyang's eyes gleamed. "If we brothers join forces, we're sure to create a masterpiece!"
He Nianhui smiled, but there was a hint of world-weariness in his eyes, as if he had seen through everything.
"And, Yangcheng is so much fun!" Huo Junyang continued, "My family has a really big estate where we can ride horses! For my eighteenth birthday, my parents gave me a helicopter, and we're going to go skydiving in it... and..."
Suddenly, the door burst open with a bang!
The moment Huo Junyang was stunned, He Nianhui instinctively stepped in front of him to block his way.
The sharp, piercing sound of high heels, accompanied by chilling laughter, made the cramped, dark space feel like hell.
"Where else do you want to go?" He Yining's face appeared in the light. "Heh, I see you can't go anywhere! You'd better think about where you'll go in your next life!"
He Nianhui glared at her fiercely; the black gun in her hand looked like the cold, gleaming eyes of a ferocious beast.
