Gu Mang revealed a sinister smile, threw the cigarette butt on the ground, and instantly burned a small black hole in the cashmere carpet.
Yang Juan screamed. This blanket was quite valuable; in the current impoverished Jiang family, it was one of the few valuable things they owned.
"Gu Mang, you bastard!"
Yang Juan raised her fist, ready to fight him, but Jiang Mingyuan grabbed her arm.
Why are you stopping me?!
"Come back!" Jiang Mingyuan glared at him.
For so many years, Yang Juan had always been suppressed by Jiang Mingyuan. When he glared at her, she dared not say another word and silently took two steps back.
Jiang Mingyuan struggled to get up from the ground, his lumbar discs aching terribly.
“Gu Mang,” he took a deep breath and looked at him with a complicated expression, “you’re right, our two families are old friends, it’s only right that I take care of you.”
Gu Mang glanced at him and smiled triumphantly.
“You can eat and stay here for free,” Jiang Mingyuan said in a low voice, “but you have to listen to me. From now on, you’ll do whatever I tell you to do!”
"Oh!"
Gu Mang's eyes turned cold, and he suddenly grabbed his neck!
Jiang Mingyuan was taken aback and caught off guard, almost being strangled to death.

Jiang Mingyuan's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, his face turned purple, and a dense sense of fear spread from the bottom of his heart.
Just as his mind went blank and he felt he was about to die, Gu Mang suddenly let go.
Jiang Mingyuan fell heavily to the ground with a thud.
Yang Juan, standing to the side, turned pale with fright and trembled, not daring to take a step forward.
"I'm tired today!" Gu Mang clapped his hands and gave a cold laugh. "Could you ask Auntie to cook me some food? Nothing too fancy, just some chicken and fish will do!"
"Gu Mang, you..." Jiang Mingyuan coughed violently, shouting these words before Gu Mang could leave: "Do you still want to marry Jiang Can or not?"
Gu Mang stopped in his tracks and stared at him suspiciously.
"What did you say?"
Jiang Mingyuan was out of breath. "I said... I said the marriage agreement between our two families was originally between you and Jiang Can, but now she's run off with Huo Zhixing. Don't you want to bring her back?"
Gu Mang raised an eyebrow, immediately revealing a greedy look.
However, it didn't take long for greed to turn into vigilance.
"You old bastard! What the hell do you mean?" Gu Mang cursed, "You want me dead, don't you!"
Seeing that he was about to go crazy again, Jiang Mingyuan panicked and pressed himself against the wall.
"What...what are you doing? Gu Mang, I'm doing this for your own good! You're all alone now, with no one to take care of you, and I can't bear to see you like this! You used to have a wife, but now she's run off with someone else, you..."
"You're talking nonsense!" Gu Mang spat directly onto his face. "You're so kind? You can't bear it? Ha... Do you know how powerful that brat Jiang Can is? She almost fought me to the death last time!"
"Besides, she's Huo Zhixing's woman. Even if I wanted to get rid of her, I'd have to save my own life first!"
Gu Mang's neck veins bulged as he grabbed Jiang Mingyuan by the collar.
"You old bastard, you want me to provoke Huo Zhixing? And then use him to get rid of me, is that it?!"
"This...this..." Jiang Mingyuan stammered, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Honestly, he never thought that way!
"Gu Mang, my dear nephew, you've misunderstood me. I actually... ah!"
Before Jiang Mingyuan could finish speaking, Gu Mang raised his hand and threw him aside, causing him to fall flat on his back.
Yang Juan's pig-like screams echoed from inside the house again.
Feeling bored, Gu Mang clapped his hands, took the wallet directly from Jiang Mingyuan's pocket, and swaggered out.
If my family won't cook for me, I'll eat out!
After Gu Mang left, Yang Juan sat on the ground for a long time, her eyes filled with endless despair.
Jiang Mingyuan cried out in pain as he struggled to his feet and limped into the study.
He felt his pockets. Luckily, Gu Mang only recognized money and didn't take the phone. He didn't have much money in his wallet; the money on his phone was his last savings.
In the living room, Yang Juan let out a sorrowful cry.
Jiang Mingyuan sighed and hurriedly dialed a number, but it rang for a long time without being answered. Just as he was about to hang up, a cold voice came from the other end: "Chairman Jiang?"
"Heh, don't call me Chairman anymore." Jiang Mingyuan heard the sarcasm in those words, but he didn't have time to argue with that person, so he went straight to the point: "Yin Shaoqing, when do you plan to get rid of Gu Mang?"

Yin Shaoqing on the other end didn't speak, but during the brief silence, Jiang Mingyuan got goosebumps.
He could even feel a chill from Yin Shaoqing's breath.
"Chairman Jiang, isn't it just that you need some money to help you revitalize the Jiang family business?" Yin Shaoqing said slowly. "Besides your daughter Jiang Can, I'm afraid no one can help you with this!"
