Chapter 348 Prescription

Bai Jingyuan frowned, asking with concern, "Huo Zhiyan trusts you that much? Why? He knows you've been by Third Brother's side for so long..."

"Just because Huo Zhiyan thinks he's so smart!" Lu Lishan patted his big head. "Don't forget, I've dealt with Huo Zhiyan before! That guy has his eyes on the top of his head, always thinking the whole world is full of idiots and he's the only smart one!"

"Now he thinks he can use Cheng Xuerou to blackmail Ye Chen, and he must think he's incredibly clever!"

"So dealing with this kind of person is not difficult at all!"

Huo Zhixing nodded with a smile, "Yes, if he had half the shrewdness of my second uncle, he wouldn't have ended up like this today."

“Third Brother,” Ye Chen frowned slightly, “Since Jiang Mingyuan wants to steal that prescription, did you replace it with a fake one beforehand so that he would come looking for nothing?”

"No need." Huo Zhixing coldly curled his lips. "You can go ahead and work with Jiang Mingyuan from the inside out. When the time comes, someone will deal with him!"

...

Jiang Can was resting at home that day.

She had been reviewing accounts until midnight the night before, and her back ached. If Huo Zhixing hadn't been grumbling and pulling her to bed, she probably would have stayed up until dawn.

When I woke up in the morning, all I had was the lingering warmth of the man and a note beside me.

"I'm going to the company now. Yufeng Media has already arranged leave for you. Take a good rest for a day and wait for me to come back."

Jiang Can chuckled softly.

She put on a sweater and went downstairs, where Aunt Cen had already prepared breakfast and invited her to come down and eat.

"Young mistress, the young master left you a note!"

"Yes, I saw it."

"Oh, by the way, before he left, the young master said he was going back to the old house today... I wonder what it's about. But he'll be back soon!"

Jiang Can paused for a moment, and when the old house was mentioned, she suddenly remembered that someone was still imprisoned there.

Jiang Yao's voice echoed in my ears again: Jiang Can, when Dad comes, you will have nothing left!

Nothing at all?

Despite Huo Zhixing's repeated reassurances, she remained troubled by those words, a sense of unease lingering in her heart.

Jiang Mingyuan has come to Yangcheng; he certainly won't let his mother off the hook.

Last time in Jiangzhou, when Jiang Mingyuan came to our house and caused a scene, he kept demanding that my mother hand over something...

A thought suddenly flashed through Jiang Can's mind, and he immediately put down his chopsticks and hurriedly ran to the counter.

She rummaged through the box, hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran back into the room to find the key.

As the key was about to be inserted into the lock, her heart pounded like a drum.

"Young Madam, do you need to open the box?" Aunt Cen asked with concern. "Do you need my help?"

"Oh, no need!" Jiang Can quickly replied. "Aunt Cen, the flowers in the yard need watering, would you like to go and take a look?"

"Yes!" Aunt Cen replied and went into the courtyard.

Jiang Can took a deep breath, steadied himself, and without further ado, opened the small wooden box. The box was old, and it creaked as it was opened. The moment it was opened, a faint medicinal fragrance wafted out, refreshing and invigorating.

Jiang Can had never known that the taste of Chinese herbal medicine could be so captivating.

The huge box contained only a stack of manuscripts, some with pictures of herbs, some with recipes, and some with chemical formulas.

Jiang Can's hands trembled slightly as she flipped through the pages; it seemed to be a complete set of prescriptions.

Is this what Jiang Mingyuan has always wanted?

But... how did Mom get these things?

What are these prescriptions for?

One question after another swirled in her mind, and she couldn't understand these highly technical pharmacological terms. Suddenly, she remembered that Yin Cheng was from medical school...

So she took photos of each manuscript, locked the box again, and rushed to Central City University.

It was during class time.

Occasionally, students would pass by on campus. After asking around, Jiang Can finally found the medical school. Her classmate told her that Yin Cheng usually spent her free time in the lab when she didn't have classes, and suggested she try her luck there.

After thanking him, Jiang Can went to the laboratory, where Yin Cheng was indeed inside.

She was about to call out to him when she spotted another familiar figure—

Yin Ruohong.

Jiang Can was stunned.

A large meridian chart hung on the wall in front of them, and Yin Ruohong was explaining it to Yin Cheng.

One spoke earnestly, the other listened attentively; their expressions were identical, and from a distance, they looked like they were made from the same mold.

Jiang Can's heart skipped a beat, as if an invisible hand was gripping her throat. She couldn't breathe and couldn't speak.

Just then, Yin Cheng spotted her.

"Sister? What brings you here!"

Jiang Can snapped out of her daze and forced a smile.

Yin Ruohong also noticed her. After a slight pause, he immediately broke into a bright smile and even touched his hair with his hand.

"Sis!" Yin Cheng skipped over and grabbed her hand. "I'm so sorry, I was doing a really important experiment on the day you were registering your marriage, and my supervisor wouldn't let me..."

"It's okay, I know." Jiang Can looked at him with relief. "Your studies are important!"

Did you receive the gift I gave you?

"Um!"

Yin Cheng has now achieved research results, applied for patents on the results, and received a large sum of patent fees.

At least within the medical school, he was already a well-known local tycoon.

The wedding gift was just a large red envelope, but it was thick with his heartfelt wishes. He specifically emphasized that these were for his brother-in-law!

Little did he know that his brother-in-law hadn't even had a chance to warm the money before turning around and handing the red envelope to his sister with both hands.

Jiang Can looked at him and smiled.

The siblings are several years apart in age, and Jiang Can took care of Yin Cheng when he was little. The naughty little boy who used to follow her around with a snotty nose all day has now grown into a handsome young man who is taller than her.

Jiang Can also felt a great sense of accomplishment.

“Sister,” Yin Cheng said softly, “you’ve always been the one who supported my schooling, now it’s my turn to support you… hey, even though it’s a bit late.”

"Fool!" Jiang Can's eyes welled up with tears.

"I'm sorry, sister, I became successful too late. If I were smarter, then..."

"You're already very smart!" Yin Ruohong said with a smile. "You learned the acupuncture techniques I taught you very quickly!"

"Is that so?" Jiang Can looked at Yin Ruohong, a shadow falling over her beautiful eyes.

She wondered if she was being too sensitive.

In that instant, every moment I spent with Yin Ruohong, from the time we first met until now, flooded my mind like frames from a movie.

On the deserted island, he cared for her like a father, not allowing her to catch a cold, and taking off his hat and scarf for her to wear.

He worked diligently and conscientiously on the United Hospital project, not allowing any mistakes to occur.

He always protected her, no matter the time or place. In front of outsiders, he was the aloof president of the medical association, but in front of her, he was always smiling...

Jiang Can's heart trembled violently.

Yin Ruohong noticed the complexity in her eyes and slowed his breathing, carefully observing her expression. "Can Can, what's wrong?"
