Chapter 424 Selling Suits

Tang Yilan froze, and the knife and fork in her hand fell onto the plate with a clatter.

Will she be anxious?

She really hadn't thought about that question.

All she knew was that she had been like a cat on a hot tin roof these past few days, unable to eat or sleep, not changing her clothes, and had never shed so many tears in her life.

The only thing she held tightly in her hand was that lucky bag.

It was given to her by Ye Chen; it still felt like it contained his body heat.

When he gave it to her, he said he hoped this lucky bag would bring her good luck.

But now she would rather use all her luck to ensure his safety.

Tang Yilan's mind was in a mess. She opened her mouth, but couldn't utter a single word.

"I……"

"Okay, I know!" Nie Xin smiled frankly. "You'll definitely be worried! If I disappear, who will take on the leading role for you?"

Tang Yilan lowered her head, and after a long while, she whispered three words:

"sorry."

Nie Xin paused, smiled slightly, and continued cutting the steak in front of her.

"I'm not a petty person, there's no need for you to apologize to me. Besides, there's nothing between us, why are you saying those three words to me out of the blue?"

Tang Yilan looked at him, her eyes filled with gratitude.

Now that everything was out in the open, she no longer hid anything.

“I admit it, I can’t forget him.” She squeezed the lucky bag. “These days, every time I close my eyes, all I see are memories of my school days.”

"Hmm..." Nie Xin chuckled, "It's all because of your obsession!"

Tang Yilan also laughed.

"Then can you tell me exactly what he does better than me?"

Tang Yilan couldn't answer this question.

Human emotions are strange, especially for a stubborn girl like her. Once she sets her mind on someone, she'll stick with them for life.

If she had to give a reason, it would probably be that she liked the scent of sunshine on his white shirt, the smile he gave her every time they brushed past each other on the campus paths, his energy in the debate competition, and his patience in explaining the questions to her—those were the times when they were closest to each other.

Little by little, the affection had no concrete form, but these little things gradually gathered into the image of Ye Chen, taking root in his heart.

"Even when he was so protective of Cheng Xuerou, you never blamed him?" Nie Xin pouted.

Tang Yilan said softly, "Later... he realized what she really was!"

He smiled helplessly, "So this is the reason for your obsession?"

Tang Yilan bit her lip and remained silent.

"Never mind, I understand!" Nie Xin waved her hand. "You don't need to feel sorry for me. When it comes to feelings, Wenwen is right. If your heart isn't clear, the person moving in won't be comfortable! Even if you want to pursue me now, I won't give you the chance!"

Tang Yilan was amused by him and took another bite of steak.

"But don't worry," Nie Xin looked at her earnestly, "I will definitely do what I promised you!"

"I brought people from Southeast Asia; they're much more effective than the police here. We're sure to find him!"

...

This is Nie Xin's third day in Manchester.

When an artist suddenly disappears from the public eye, it's not a good thing for their popularity, especially for a big name like him.

His agent was frantic, making 800 calls a day urging him to take photos and update his Weibo.

His men searched for three days like looking for a needle in a haystack, but without any clues, and they were all somewhat discouraged.

"Young Master Xin, are you sure this person is in Manchester?"

Instead of asking whether they were "alive," the subordinates asked whether they were "in Manchester."

Even if someone is dead, they can still find their body.

But now, neither the living nor the dead has appeared, which is beyond their expectations.

He boasted to Jiang Can before coming to Manchester City, but now his little cousin is making a fool of him!

Nie Xin was getting impatient. "I said it's in Manchester, in Manchester! Can't you understand human language?"

Several of his men retreated and lowered their heads.

Nie Xin stubbed out the cigarette between her fingers and turned to walk out of the hotel.

"Young Master Xin..."

"Don't follow me!" Nie Xin turned around and glared at them. "Use this time to go out and find someone!"

"Where are you going, Young Master Xin?"

"It's none of your business!"

Nie Xin put on sunglasses and strode away.

Fortunately, this is England, and no one on the street recognizes him, so he can move around freely.

He wandered around until he reached Albert Square, where he heard that Huo Zhixing often fed pigeons when he was a child.

Nie Xin smiled and strolled in the center of the square. The temperature had risen these past few days, the sun was shining brightly, and tourists thronged the area. The square was surrounded by beautiful scenery; the Gothic cathedral was mysterious and majestic, every brick exuding the weight of history.

A group of Gypsies were singing and dancing in the square, drawing applause from tourists.

Nie Xin slowly walked over.

Just then, a girl's sweet voice came from behind: "Sir, would you like to buy a coat? It's very cheap!"

Nie Xin was taken aback.

The pretty girl in front of him was smiling sweetly at him. She was wearing a long dress like a gypsy, and her chestnut curly hair was loosely tied into a ponytail with a scarf. She was holding a coat in her hand and showing it to him.

"The style is very trendy, and the quality is quite good! It's just that it has a hole, so I'm selling it to you at a low price! But don't worry, sir, I've patched up the hole, you won't be able to tell unless you look closely!"

"So, what do you think? The price is negotiable!"

Nie Xin was quite engrossed in watching.

Out of professional instinct, he felt that if this girl were on camera, she would definitely outshine everyone else on the big screen.

"Sir? Sir!"

Sang Qing's heart began to pound.

This guy is quite handsome, but why does he look so silly? Can't he understand what she's saying?

Judging from his outfit, it must have been expensive; perhaps he wasn't interested in her secondhand coat.

She pouted, about to look for her next target, when suddenly her arm was grabbed.

"You just said this coat is for sale?"

"Oh, so you can understand English?" Sang Qing laughed, continuing her sales pitch, "Yes, this jacket is for sale, but it's already been worn and has holes..."

"Is it here?" Nie Xin pointed to the patched area.

Sang Qing nodded with a smile.

The location is strange; if worn, the hole appears to be in the abdomen.

Which man would wear a suit and chafe his stomach?

Nie Xin glanced at the brand and then touched the fabric.

There seems to be some...bloodstains on the dark fabric?

His brow furrowed slightly, giving off an indescribable strangeness.

"Hey, sir," Sang Qing said cautiously, looking at him, "Are you going to buy it or not?"

"Where did you get these clothes?"

Sang Qing's heart skipped a beat.

Nie Xin sneered, "Heh, you wouldn't... have taken it from a dead person, would you?"
