Sang Qing's heart skipped a beat.
She felt her spine stiffen and tried to turn around several times, but it seemed as if there was a resistance that kept her standing still.
She listened as the heavy footsteps slowly approached.
The small tailor shop seemed to be instantly enveloped in a low-pressure atmosphere.
The proprietress, a woman of many experience, knew from the sight of Nie Xin wearing large sunglasses that he was not someone to be trifled with. She quickly stepped forward with a smile and asked, "Sir, are you here to have clothes made?"
As soon as the words left my mouth, I regretted them a little.
This man is dressed so extravagantly, he must be a noble young master from some wealthy family. People usually have their clothes custom-made by a professional, why would they come to her little workshop?
Look again, from the moment this person walked in, it seems like they were heading straight for Sang Qing...
Even though Sang Qing had her back to him.
The proprietress curled her lip. So this girl has a boyfriend, and a boyfriend who's quite influential?
"Um, sir, you..."
“I’m not here to have clothes made.” Every word Nie Xin uttered was as if it had been chilled to the bone.
Sang Qing held her breath, hesitant to turn around.
"Are you the owner here?" Nie Xin took off his sunglasses.
The proprietress looked up and met those cheetah-like eyes, and froze on the spot.
It looks very familiar.
However, the chilling aura still made her tremble slightly: "Yes...yes."
"Could you please step outside for a moment?"
"Ah? But sir, this..."
"Does the proprietress want me to pay if she stays here?" Nie Xin said with a half-smile. "But once I pay, I'll be buying more than just one piece of clothing!"
"I'll be buying from this store!"
The proprietress was taken aback.
Who is this person who comes up here wanting to buy someone else's store?
"Madam," Nie Xin looked around and said coldly, "this house is quite old, isn't it?"
"As far as I know, there aren't many tailor shops left on this street. The government should be demolishing them here soon..."
"You'll have to leave whether you like it or not! I'm not so easy to talk to those people!"
"Sir, you..."
"Get out!" Nie Xin roared in a deep voice.
The proprietress turned pale, rolled her eyes, and decided it was best to leave.
She quickly turned and left, glancing at Sang Qing before she went, shaking her head and sighing.
After what seemed like an eternity, Sang Qing's pounding heart finally calmed down a little. She slowly turned her face, and suddenly met those dark, unwavering eyes.
Nie Xin was expressionless, as cold as an ice sculpture.
But Sang Qing didn't see that beneath his calm exterior lay a volcano about to erupt.
This girl probably did it on purpose...
I'm deliberately trying to drive him crazy!
Nie Xin took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled, a playful smile playing on her lips.
"Looks like you're doing well here! The boss's wife is even considering grooming you as her daughter-in-law?"
"No..." Sang Qing lowered her head, fiddling with the embroidery patterns in her hands, her voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz.
"But why did you talk like that just now?" she muttered. "The proprietress is a good person, and she has no grudge against you. This shop is her ancestral property. Why did you scare her?"
"What's wrong?" Nie Xin suddenly raised her voice. "I scared her, and you feel bad for me?"
Sang Qing was taken aback.
"Did I scare your future mother-in-law?!"
"you……"
Sang Qing's eyes widened, and her face suddenly turned red.
This uncle is becoming less and less like the uncle I used to know...
"Why are you looking at me like that? Did I hit the nail on the head?!" Nie Xin pressed aggressively. "I went through all the trouble of bringing you to Southeast Asia and even got you a temporary residence permit, just so you could waste your life in this run-down tailor shop? Just so you could marry anyone and drift through life like this? Didn't you want to go to university, to a prestigious university? Have all your lofty ideals and ambitions been eaten by dogs?!"
Sang Qing was stunned by his shout.
She stared at him blankly, like a frightened little rabbit, but after a long silence, a few words suddenly popped out of the little rabbit's mouth:
"Uncle, I think you're wrong..."
"Um?"
The little rabbit is very organized:
"First of all, you said you had a good relationship with the royal family of Southeast Asia and that it wouldn't be difficult for you to get me an identity... So how did it become 'going through all sorts of hardships' to get me to Southeast Asia?"
"Secondly, how do you know I'm just wasting my time? I'm aiming for a prestigious university, so I'm working part-time to save money while studying. It's not like I'm neglecting my studies!"
"And..." Sang Qing's voice grew softer and softer, "You said that once we got to Southeast Asia, you wouldn't take care of me."
“…” Nie Xin stared at her for a good ten seconds.
"Heh, heh heh!"
"You brat!" he suddenly shouted, "Your Chinese has improved, huh? You can even talk back to me now?!"
Sang Qing timidly shrank back, cornered against the long table, with no way to retreat.
Nie Xin took several deep breaths to calm the volcano in her heart.
Actually, upon calming down and thinking about it, her points seem to be quite valid...
But what's wrong with him?
He is always kind and friendly to fans he doesn't know.
Why does he turn into a powder keg the moment he meets Sang Qing?
Nie Xin felt it was incredible, and looking at the poor little thing huddled in the corner, a pang of pity suddenly welled up in her heart.
"You, come here." He said in a harsh tone.
Sang Qing leaned against the wall without moving, barely daring to breathe.
"Come here! Do you think I'd eat you?"
"Oh..." She slowly walked over, still not daring to get too close.
Nie Xin straightened up, raised his arms, and spun around in front of her.
