Nanyang, the secret chamber of the royal palace.
Heya looked around at the doorway to make sure no one was behind her, then told the maid to wait outside while she quietly went in.
Jiamin was already inside, standing facing the wall. On the bluestone wall hung an oil portrait of her and King Heyan.
That was the year He Yan had just become king, full of vigor and confidence. He stood behind Jia Min, dressed in magnificent robes and wearing a crown, while Jia Min sat in front of him, a slight smile on her lips.
She had two of the happiest days in her life: watching He Yan ascend the throne and becoming his bride.
Heya quietly walked up behind her and whispered, "Auntie."
Jiamin snapped out of her daze. "Is everything taken care of?"
“Don’t worry, Auntie,” Heya smiled. “I just finished talking to Ashu and Yu. They’ve already found the couple in Manchester…”
"Really?" Jiamin raised an eyebrow.
“Yes!” Heya nodded, not forgetting to flatter her, “It’s all thanks to Aunt’s foresight in sending people to look for them long ago! Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so easy to find Ashu and Ayu.”
Are you sure it's those two people?
"That's right, they are Sang Qing's parents!" He Ya said smugly. "So that little bitch has such parents. Ha, no wonder she's such a jerk!"
Queen Jiamin remained silent, her expression somber.
She only asked Heya to find the people, but she didn't tell her that they weren't Sang Qing's biological parents at all.
One day, she passed by the western palace and, on a whim, decided to go inside. There, she unexpectedly saw Sang Qing wearing Helin Yue's white dress, her smile as radiant as a flower…
That scene gave her a deep tremor.
She took a few steps back, almost falling into the pool, but managed to avoid it before collapsing to the ground with a thud, gasping for breath.
For a fleeting moment, she thought she saw a young Helin Yue...
She refused to believe that the baby she had thrown into the slums years ago would return in this way, but suspicion breeds fear. After two sleepless nights, she had her informant in the western palace obtain test samples from Sang Qing and He Lin Yue.
The DNA test results hit her like a bolt from the blue...
Jiamin took a deep breath, trying to control her trembling hands, and turned to look at Heya, her voice low and serious, "Have you arranged for those two to come to Southeast Asia?"
“Everything is arranged!” Heya laughed. “Auntie, you are truly amazing! You even managed to find people like these! I heard they were also illegal immigrants, and they abandoned that little slut when she was ten years old.”
“Everyone thinks illegal immigrants are unpredictable, but actually, if you put in a little effort, they’re very easy to find,” Jia Min said in a low voice. “One’s a drug addict, the other’s a prostitute. Their circle is only so big, they can’t go far!”
"Yes, Auntie is right!"
"Tell them to come as soon as possible." Jiamin gently closed her eyes, as if talking to herself, "Once they're here, everything will be over..."
"Lin Yue, don't blame me," she murmured to herself.
I cannot allow your daughter to ruin Heyan's throne!
...
Sang Qing sat listlessly on the steps at the palace entrance, looking at the bluestone slab beside her.
The bluestone slabs are her calendar; she marks as many days as she has been here.
Today is the tenth one.
She has been isolated from the world for ten days.
Ten days isn't a long time, but it's not short either. However, she wasn't as resistant as she had been when she first arrived.
Perhaps it's because of Herlin Moon.
Subconsciously, she was craving the warmth of Herlinyue.
She has been sleeping in the same bed with Helin Yue for the past few days.
The maids in the palace are not attentive, and there are often mosquitoes in the palace. Sang Qing is not afraid, but poor He Lin Yue is often bitten by insects. Each bite will cause a big bump to swell up, which is quite frightening.
However, one night, Sang Qing turned over and woke up groggily, vaguely seeing someone sitting on the edge of the bed. She was startled and almost screamed, but upon closer inspection, she saw that it was He Linyue sitting there.
Helin Yue held a palm-leaf fan in her hand and tried her best to swat away the mosquitoes.
But the bumps on her face didn't go away.
Sang Qing's heart tightened, and she suddenly felt an urge to cry.
No wonder she's been sleeping so soundly these past few days, no wonder the mosquitoes only bit Helin Yue and not her... She thought it was true, as some posts said, that mosquitoes bite people based on their blood type.
She was secretly relieved that her blood type wasn't one that mosquitoes liked.
turn out to be……
It wasn't that the mosquitoes didn't bite her, but rather that someone helped her get rid of the swarm of bloodsucking worms.
"You're awake?"
Helin Yue stopped what she was doing in the darkness, staring blankly at her, like a child who had done something wrong and bowing his head in apology.
"Was I too loud, disturbing your sleep?"
"Mosquitoes, mosquitoes..."
"I'm afraid it will tickle you..."
Sang Qing bit her lip, unable to hold back her tears any longer, and threw herself into He Linyue's arms.
When she was a child, she lived in a basement. She cried loudly because she was bitten by lice and fleas, but her mother thought she was a nuisance and kicked her against the wall.
Helin Yue gently patted her back, making a soothing whimpering sound like she was coaxing a child, and then smiled.
"Don't cry, don't be afraid."
"Um..." Sang Qing choked up, looked up at her, hesitated for a moment, and asked softly, "Can I call you Mom?"
Helin Yue seemed not to understand, still immersed in her own world, hugging Sang Qing while swatting away mosquitoes.
Sang Qing felt that this was a bit abrupt.
But she really wanted to call her "Mom" properly this time.
She had a mother when she was little, but she never knew what it felt like to be loved by a mother. She actually felt this feeling with Helin Yue.
