Chapter 547 Court Hearing (2)

Jiamin's lips trembled slightly. Meeting He Yan's gaze, she felt guilty and couldn't utter a single word.

"No...it's nothing." Jia Min forced a smile. "Your Majesty, the trial has been going on for too long. Are you tired? Let me help you back to rest..."

"I want the truth!" He Yan roared. "Who exactly are you looking for?"

Jiamin stood there stunned, then turned her gaze to Ayu.

"What's going on!" she gritted each word. "Ayu, what... what are you trying to do?"

“Your Majesty,” Ayu said calmly, “based on the clues you gave me, I can only find these two people!”

"you……"

A strange smile flickered across Ayu's lips.

"Your Majesty, it was you who told me that one of those two was a drug addict and the other was a prostitute, so the two people I found fit the bill perfectly!"

"You're talking nonsense!" Jiamin glared at her angrily. "The information I gave you clearly included other things!"

"Back then, it was you who personally handed the young prince over to these two people! Wasn't that right?"

"Ayu!"

Jiamin's heart was pounding, and her blood seemed to freeze.

"Ayu, what did you say?" He Yan was shocked, his body stiffened, as if struck by lightning.

After a long while, he looked at Jiamin in disbelief, his heart aching terribly.

"Ayu...is everything you said true?" His breathing was unsteady. He stared at her for a long time before suddenly grabbing her wrist!

"Back then, you first lied to me and said you gave the child to a lawyer's family, saying the child would have a good life! Later you said that although the child was in the slums, he was adopted by a Gypsy couple! Jiamin... you lied to me again and again!"

"How could a child end up in the hands of such two people?!"

"Jiamin, say something!"

He Yan gave Jia Min a hard shove, and she almost fell out of the audience seats.

Her mind went blank; He Yan's resentful gaze was like a sharp knife, piercing the deepest part of her heart.

"Ayan, listen to me..."

"Your Majesty," Jiang Can rose, her gaze indifferent, a cold smile playing on her lips, "I really don't understand why you insist on finding these two people?"

"Are these two people very important to you?"

"Or..." Jiang Can's eyes gradually sharpened, "you need those two people to provide false testimony against my father?"

"You're talking nonsense!" Jiamin, like a trapped beast, made a last stand. "This is a courtroom! Do you know what crime it is to slander the Queen?"

"Whether my wife is slandering me or not, you know best in your heart!" Huo Zhixing gently embraced Jiang Can. "Everyone has witnessed the contributions my father-in-law has made to the pharmaceutical industry in Southeast Asia. Moreover, he has no grudge against Her Highness Yue, so why would he collude with two people he doesn't even know to harm her?"

"Anyone with a brain can figure out the logic behind this!"

Jiamin's face was deathly pale, and she bit her lip without saying a word.

Sang Qing looked completely bewildered, not understanding what they were talking about.

Why did they suddenly bring two strangers, claiming to be her parents? But where are her irresponsible parents?

Queen Jiamin is secretly searching for her parents... What is she up to?

Sang Qing's mind was a complete blank.

Whispers could be heard in the courtroom.

Just as the judge raised his gavel to strike, Ayu stepped forward and took out a recording from her phone.

"Your Honor, lawyers, and jurors..." Ayu's voice trembled, "You are all probably curious about why Her Majesty the Queen is looking for Miss Sang's parents. Here is the answer!"

Ayu pressed the play button, and Queen Jiamin's voice came through:

“You and Ashu go together, find these two people, bring them back to Southeast Asia… and then make them recite this testimony.”

"At that time, Yin Ruohong's crime will be that he conspired with Sang Qing's parents to murder a member of the royal family, which was considered a sinister plot. Therefore, all of these people will go to jail!"

"Your Majesty, can these two people really be of use to us?"

"Ha, the man is a drug addict. Give him some red bamboo powder... As for the woman, give her some money first. Once she sees the money, she'll do whatever we say!"

...

The courtroom erupted in uproar.

Jiamin stared wide-eyed as if she had seen a ghost, her face completely drained of color.

"Red bamboo powder?" Some foreign journalists began to whisper, "What is that?"

"That's a drug!" Yin Ruohong said each word with conviction. "The red bamboo in Southeast Asia isn't bamboo; it's a flower, similar to a poppy. Ten red bamboo flowers can be used to extract one milligram of red bamboo powder. This drug is extremely toxic and highly addictive. Ingesting a certain amount can lead to sudden death within a short period!"

"Your Majesty," Yin Ruohong looked at her with a half-smile, "the trade of red bamboo powder is strictly prohibited in Southeast Asia. Anyone found doing so will be severely punished! You must not be unaware of this, right?"

The judge frowned and exchanged a glance with the jurors on either side of him.

It seems like one problem after another is brewing.

Before we could figure out what was going on with those two witnesses, another case emerged: the Queen was hiding red bamboo powder!

If this is proven, the charges could be very serious...

“Ayu…” Jiamin gasped for breath, sweat beading on her forehead, each word uttered with immense difficulty, “You, you actually betrayed me…”

“Your Majesty, this is not betrayal.” Ayu looked at her calmly. “As you know, I have a bad memory. In the past, whenever you told me something, I would record it so that I wouldn’t miss any details. I would then carefully check it back to myself.”

"So, would you like to hear what the Queen has assigned me to do?"
