He Sirui slapped her head hard. "Mianmian, look at me... I really messed things up when I was drinking! How could I say something like that!"
“It’s alright, what you said is true.” Jiang Mianmian smiled. “Our Lu family is indeed not as prestigious as the He family. I heard that your parents are both PhD graduates from world-renowned universities. Heh, my parents can’t compare in that respect.”
"Mianmian..."
"Even if the deal falls through, the friendship remains. Don't take it to heart." Jiang Mianmian was very open-minded, raising her wine glass and drinking the red wine in one gulp.
"I'm so sorry, I can't hold my liquor. I drank too fast and I'm a little dizzy. Sirui, could you come with me to the restroom to wash my face?"
He Sirui raised an eyebrow, the smugness on her lips impossible to hide.
She felt she had won.
Jiang Mianmian made a wasted trip and then had her father's triad background exposed... Ha, she probably wasn't just unable to hold her liquor, but rather wanted to find a place to wipe away her tears.
So how could He Sirui possibly miss the chance to see her wipe away tears?
She readily agreed and helped Jiang Mianmian to the restroom.
However, as soon as Jiang Mianmian entered the bathroom, she hooked the door shut with her heel and slammed it shut!
Then she stood in front of He Sirui, her eyes cold, a half-smile on her face.
She doesn't seem like someone who "can't hold their liquor" at all...
He Sirui shuddered, "Mianmian, you..."
"Sirui, come here!" Jiang Mianmian approached her warmly. "I prepared a gift for you, but it was too crowded to take it out earlier. It's in my bag, feel around and see what it is?"
He Sirui reached out with some skepticism, slowly slipping her hand into her bag, when she suddenly touched something cold and hard, like a gun handle!
She looked up abruptly and discovered that Jiang Mianmian's deep eyes held a ruthlessness that didn't belong to a young girl!
