Huo Junyu smiled, his gaze towards Jiang Mianmian filled with affection.
"She's having a big reaction right now. When she's in a bad mood, she won't even look at me! Out of all of us, you're probably the only one who's caught her eye!"
Pei Nian was taken aback, then chuckled softly.
Huo Jingnan secretly gave him a thumbs up.
The two men walked past Lu Ran as if she were invisible and left the office.
Lu Ran took a deep breath and calmed down.
She looked at Huo Junyu and Jiang Mianmian, her gaze no longer as tense as before. She seemed much weaker, and again looked as helpless and pitiful as before.
However, the knot between Huo Junyu's brows tightened even more.
Jiang Mianmian was also wary, but after all, she was her own cousin, and she couldn't bring herself to do it.
"Ranran," Jiang Mianmian said softly, "I received your things, thank you for your kindness. But I hope that in the future you and Niannian..."
"Sister, I'm so sorry!" Lu Ran lowered her head. "I know I should open up, and I'm already trying."
"Your attempt only worsened the relationship once again?" Jiang Mianmian sighed. "Niannian isn't a difficult person to get along with; she's been incredibly tolerant of you!"
"I know, I know everything! Sister, please don't blame me anymore... Actually, I came to see you today because there's something else I wanted to talk about."
Lu Ran glanced at Huo Junyu, hesitated for a moment, and then said in a low voice, "Brother-in-law, I just happened to run into you here, so I'll get straight to the point."
"What's up?"
Lu Ran's eyes reddened. "I...I haven't contacted Jun Yang for several days. He never used to ignore me like this!"
