Chapter 949 Side Story: Evening in the City (12)

"I……"

Song Wan originally wanted to refuse.

But for some reason, from the first moment she saw this man, she had a strange feeling in her heart. She couldn't resist what he said.

She always felt that he wasn't a bad person, or that he wouldn't do anything excessive to her.

Strangely enough, she seemed to have a deep-seated trust in him.

Lin Zhaojiang drove her to the amusement park.

The place was closed today and pitch black, but from the moment Song Wan stepped into the amusement park, everything seemed to be under a spell. With each step she took, a beam of light appeared beneath her feet.

Then, the surrounding lights gradually lit up, following Song Wan's steps and rhythm, turning her surroundings into a fairy tale wonderland.

Song Wan opened her eyes wide, unable to believe what she was seeing.

In the distance, a towering Ferris wheel shimmers with colorful neon lights, while nearby, the carousel plays beautiful music.

There are also houses with unique designs nearby.

Song Wan's eyes were filled with surprise, and she smiled broadly.

"Do you like it here?" Lin Zhaojiang asked softly.

"Um!"

After Song Wan nodded in agreement, she realized that the uncle in front of her was the owner of this dreamland.

"Would you like to play here for a while?" Lin Zhaojiang looked at her gently. "All the attractions are now open to you alone."

"This...this is so kind of you." Song Wan lowered her head. "No need, I can just look around here!"

"Well... how about I take some photos for you?"

Song Wan was startled and looked up at him, suddenly feeling a burning passion emanating from the depths of the man's eyes.

Her heart trembled slightly; the feeling was both strange and familiar.

She panicked a little.

She didn't know if this counted as being in love, but she knew it was a feeling she had never had when she was with Bai Ruogu.

"Teacher Song, what's wrong?" Lin Zhaojiang chuckled. "Would you like me to take a picture for you?"

"No need!" Song Wan refused outright, her words tumbling out incoherently. "I... I want to wait until my boyfriend returns to China, until he has time, then... I'll bring him along to take photos!"

As she spoke, she moved to the side, keeping a certain distance from Lin Zhaojiang.

Lin Zhaojiang's heart tightened.

Did she sense something? She's always been sensitive, and his behavior just now, did it make her uncomfortable?

Lin Zhaojiang coughed twice, smiled, and said, "Teacher Song, I brought you here today because I wanted to... to let you take a look beforehand and see if you can find some time to bring the kindergarten children here to play."

"Um?"

“Oh, it was Yuan Yuan who said it.” Lin Zhaojiang forced a smile. “She said she likes this amusement park, so she really wants to invite other children to come and play here. As her elder, of course I have to fulfill the child’s wish.”

"Teacher Song, do you think this place is alright? Will the children like it?"

"Of course!" Song Wan smiled. "It's a beautiful place, the children will definitely love it."

"Then it's settled. Next time the kindergarten's outdoor activity will be held here!"

"good."

The wariness in Song Wan's eyes gradually faded.

Lin Zhaojiang smiled, but felt bitter inside. He never imagined that one day the two of them would have to get along in this way.

A gust of evening wind blew by, lifting a corner of Song Wan's shawl. She was only wearing a dress, which looked quite thin in the early winter night. She hugged herself and rubbed herself up and down, but then she felt a weight on her shoulders.

Lin Zhaojiang took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.

"Uncle, this won't do!"

“There’s nothing wrong with it,” Lin Zhaojiang said in a low voice. “Girls are physically weak and shouldn’t get cold.”

"Uncle..."

"I'll arrange it as soon as possible." He changed the subject. "Even if Yuan Yuan treats us to this event, it'll help her establish some authority among the kindergarten children!"

"Little Huo Jiayuan is so lucky to have an elder like you."

“I feel quite connected with this child,” Lin Zhaojiang chuckled. “It’s a bit cold. Get in the car, I’ll take you home.”

Song Wan nodded and got into the passenger seat.

His coat was still draped over her shoulders.

She lowered her head and quietly sniffed; the faint scent of aftershave was from his coat. The fragrance was unique, yet it gave her a strange sense of familiarity.

His car was very comfortable, with plenty of heating, and even the height of the passenger seat seemed tailor-made for her.

He produced a thermos from somewhere and handed it to her; it contained rich, fragrant hot chocolate.

Song Wan's heart suddenly raced, and she stared blankly at him.

"Oh, this... this wasn't specially prepared for you!" Lin Zhaojiang, afraid that she would feel uncomfortable again, said, "Yuanyuan likes to drink it, so I always keep some in the car."

Song Wan withdrew her gaze, feeling as if all the blood in her body was rushing to her heart.

Lin Zhaojiang gripped the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

He wondered if he should act more like a straight man so as not to put her on a psychological barrier.

After all, she has a boyfriend now.

Although she lost her memory, her personality remained unchanged; she was still as innocent and naive as before, and remained loyal to her feelings.

Lin Zhaojiang thought for a moment, then snatched the thermos from her hand, feigning ignorance, "Heh, you don't like sweet drinks? Then give it back to me!"

"Why……"

Song Wan was caught off guard, but he had already snatched the thermos back.

She was both amused and exasperated; in fact, she really wanted to try the hot chocolate.

“By the way, Teacher Song,” Lin Zhaojiang became serious again, “I have a few more words to remind you.”

"Hmm, what's wrong?"

"Don't get into cars with strangers in the future, and don't drink anything offered by strangers. It's not safe."

Song Wan chuckled. "But aren't I in your car right now?"

Lin Zhaojiang blurted out, "I'm different!"

Song Wan was stunned.

Lin Zhaojiang scratched his head in frustration, then slammed on the brakes. Due to inertia, Song Wan lurched forward, and he instinctively reached out to stop her.
