Lin Yuqing looked at her daughter, holding her breath nervously, almost asking her with her breath.
"What...what did you call us?"
"Trying to test me?" Jiang Mianmian fought back tears. The atmosphere was too sad, and she wanted to lighten the mood, so she smiled and said, "Of course it's Mom and Dad! Mom, you don't still think of me as a one-year-old, do you?"
Lin Yuqing stared at her blankly, then suddenly burst into tears.
"Could you...could you call my name again?"
Jiang Mianmian's voice choked with emotion as she softly called out, "Mom."
"I want to hear more..."
"mom!"
Lin Yuqing opened her arms and hugged her daughter tightly, crying her heart out.
Lu Lishan sniffed, trying hard to hold back his tears, and stepped forward to hug his wife and daughter.
"Alright, stop crying." He smiled through his tears, "This is a happy occasion!"
"Mianmian will call us 'Dad' and 'Mom' every day from now on... We can hear her every day!"
"Ah Shan," Lin Yuqing asked, crying, "Could it be that I've taken too much medicine and am hallucinating?"
"Mom, I heard from the doctor that your dosage has been halved," Jiang Mianmian said softly. "If you just hold on a little longer, you might be able to stop taking the medication altogether..."
She held Lin Yuqing's hand and suddenly felt how cold it was; a pang of pain shot through her heart.
"I'll be with you, we'll definitely overcome this, okay?"
"Um!"
Lin Yuqing nodded vigorously.
She will obediently listen to her daughter, and she believes she will get better.
She also believes that one day she will no longer need medication to sleep, nor will she need medication to maintain a good mood.
She would hold her daughter's hand and go to the beach to wade in the waves and fly kites, even though this day was twenty years late.
“But it’s not too late…” she sobbed, saying to herself, “It’s not too late at all!”
Jiang Mianmian was taken aback. Although she didn't know what she was talking about, she still gently hugged her shoulders and stroked her back like she was taking care of a child.
"Yes!" she smiled. "It's not too late, there's still time!"

Huo Junyu sneezed twice on his way home, and his ears felt hot. When he got to his door, he suddenly felt a cool breeze and couldn't help but shiver.
strangeness!
He's always been in good health, and it's the middle of summer, so how could he be shivering?
However, when he thought of the cold glint in Uncle Shan's eyes just now... he instantly understood what was going on.
He shook his head helplessly, chuckled, and as soon as he stepped into the living room, he was startled by the three pairs of eyes that were all looking at him!
"Uh..." Huo Junyu was taken aback. "Mom and Dad, Yangyang, aren't you... asleep yet?"
The clock on the wall already pointed to 11:30.
Huo Junyang is a night owl; playing games all night is a regular occurrence for him.
However, Jiang Can and Huo Zhixing, for some reason, were in the mood to make rose sago pudding for a late-night snack. The two sat at the table, heads close together, each with a bowl, and ate with great relish.
Huo Junyu smiled, feeling a bit hungry as well. He looked for his bowl, only to be mocked by Huo Junyang.
"You still expect your parents to cook for you? Hahaha!"
Huo Junyu shot him a murderous glare. "You had a hand in this?"
"I didn't eat any either!" Huo Junyang said frankly. "I ate what they left behind!"
"..."
"Junyu, are you hungry?" The old father, Huo Zhixing, finally had a change of heart. "Aunt Zhou made some wontons for you. They're in the pot right now. Go and eat!"
"Dad, I want to eat dessert..."
"What dessert?" Huo Zhixing's eyes widened. "Do I look like a dessert to you?"
Huo Junyu lost his temper and turned to go to the kitchen to find small wontons.
Huo Junyang laughed so hard he almost choked, his face turning bright red.
My mom only made a small amount of rose sago pudding; it was a special treat just for my dad.
How could Dad bear to share?
Huo Junyu also scooped a bowl for his younger brother. Huo Junyang put down his phone, picked up the wontons, and ate them with his older brother.
"Junyu," Jiang Can looked at him, "You're back so late today? Did you take Mianmian home?"
"Hmm." Huo Junyu paused, thinking of Lu Lishan's gaze, and told his parents about it as a joke.
Jiang Can smiled helplessly and looked at Huo Zhixing, who suddenly remembered the way Yin Ruohong looked at him back then.
So all fathers-in-law are the same all over the world...
Luckily he didn't have a daughter; otherwise, his son-in-law would have been in serious trouble.
However, from his son's perspective, a plan came to him...
Huo Zhixing smiled slightly, sat down next to Huo Junyu, put one hand on his shoulder, and whispered with a pout, "That Lu Lishan guy is really petty... Son, didn't your grandfather give you the silver needles?"
Huo Junyu was stunned. "Dad, what do you mean?"
"Give him a shot, and see if he still dares to stand at the door and glare at you in the middle of the night!"
"Well……"
Huo Junyang laughed loudly: "Dad, you're so unfair! You want Uncle Shan to suffer the same pain you did back then!"
"What nonsense are you talking about!" Huo Zhixing frowned. "Your grandfather was so good to me back then, he would never have dared to stab me!"
"Oh..." Huo Junyang feigned profundity, "Then please explain, Mr. Huo, who was Grandpa calling 'little brat' all that time?"
"Huo Junyang!"
Huo Zhixing raised his hand to strike, but Huo Junyang hid behind his brother for protection.
"Dad, calm down! Calm down!"
"Yangyang, you really know how to bring up the most sensitive topics!"
"Alright, alright, stop fooling around!"
Huo Junyu stood between the two men with a serious expression, trying to break up the fight. However, the two brothers exchanged glances and saw the wicked smile in each other's eyes. Then, in perfect unison, they grabbed their father's hand...
