Chapter 362 Father's Shoulders

After finishing their meal, the father and son went to the market without any guards or servants.

Zhang Xianglian was still a little worried, but after Chang Yan gave her a few subtle hints, she felt relieved.

Fengjing has many markets, but very few that specialize in food. Most of the shops are clothing and jewelry shops, interspersed with a couple of pastry shops, a couple of noodle shops, or a couple of small restaurants.

For example, Tianjiekou, or Sidaokou.

This market is quite novel; it's filled with food from one end to the other, it's simply dazzling.

Jiang Sheng followed behind Jiang Jizu. At first, she was a little reserved, but as various fragrances wafted in, only joy remained in her eyes.

The man suppressed a laugh and bought two skewers of candied hawthorns. The father and son each took one skewer and ate them with great relish.

Passing by a mille-feuille pastry shop again, I tore a piece in half, not eating much but just tasting it.

There's also hawthorn-flavored eight-treasure porridge, donkey meat sandwiches, mutton soup with a rich mutton flavor, persimmon cakes, and chicken served in gourds.

Even though she only ate two bites of each dish, Jiang Sheng ate until her belly was completely round and she could barely walk.

"Why don't I know this place? What kind of market is this?" Unable to contain her curiosity, she asked.

“It’s a place I discovered when I was a child,” Jiang Jizu chuckled. “I rarely came here after I went to the battlefield. I never expected that so many delicious dishes would be added here.”

Jiang Sheng burped, and the food she had just eaten, along with the braised pork knuckle and braised fish, surged up her throat.

I'm so full, I'm completely stuffed.

It's so full that it makes you sleepy, so full that you don't want to move.

It's a pity her brother wasn't there, otherwise she would have clung to his back and refused to get down no matter what.

A father and son passed by, the son sitting on his father's shoulders with his legs spread apart, laughing and joking as they walked by.

Jiang Sheng blinked, her thoughts becoming increasingly blurred.

A deep, introspective voice asked in her ear, "Are you tired?"

She nodded blankly, then felt herself being lifted into the air, as if she were passing over something, and quickly landed on broad shoulders.

The sudden height made her instinctively hug what was in front of her, and only when she came to her senses did she realize that it was a head.

"Don't be afraid." A hand gripped her ankle, holding her firmly in place.

As the surrounding scenery receded, a strange sense of security washed over her. Overwhelmed by drowsiness, she finally buried her face in her thick, dark hair, as if suppressing her emotions.

It's like hiding two crystal-clear golden beans.
