Liao has gone mad.
This result was both expected and unexpected.
She was too fixated on the idea that Jiang Sheng was an enemy, and then she hastily learned of her family's betrayal. Yet, she was also acutely aware of the foolish things she had done in the past.
Unable to forgive the past, and unable to let go of the present, madness becomes another form of self-salvation and liberation.
They seem both hateful and pitiful.
But in this grand drama, she wasn't the only one who got hurt.
Jiang Sheng witnessed the whole truth with her own eyes. Although she never admitted in her heart that Liao was her mother, she still felt a mix of emotions, as if something was stuck in her chest, something she couldn't spit out or swallow.
I always thought I was an abandoned child and was used to not having the care of my parents. Suddenly I learned that I was loved by my father and my mother.
Unfortunately, the deception was too deep, the time was too late, and the scene was too embarrassing.
The extreme reversal transformed Liao from vicious to pathetic, yet the previous indifference and harm were undeniably real, making the question of whether to forgive or not a major dilemma.
But Jiang Sheng took that step back, and Liao Shi went mad.
More regret filled her heart, and Jiang Sheng asked herself repeatedly: If I hadn't taken that step back, would things have been better?
Nobody has the answer.
Jiang Jizu approached without warning, and hesitantly asked, "Nannan, do you... have any... thoughts?"
For the first time, the ruthless general felt overwhelmed by the situation.
Jiang Sheng understood that Liao was, after all, her biological mother, and her father was afraid that he would punish her without consulting her, which would make her feel bad.
However, Liao had never fulfilled her responsibilities as a mother to her, and there was no affection between them. Asking her seriously would be tantamount to forcing her to make a decision.
At this point, asking or not asking is both wrong.
Neither indifference nor gentleness is appropriate.
But Liao has gone mad, and the Jiang family has to deal with this Madam Jiang, and find a place for her to go; they can't just let her wander around.
Jiang Sheng opened her bright eyes and thought for a while. "Father should take good care of her. I think my brother would not want his mother to be bullied and wander in a foreign land."
Whether it's love or hate, Liao's feelings are all for her own blood-related daughter, Jiang Sheng, or it can be said that she is not Jiang Sheng.
Since the mother and daughter are not destined to be together, it's fine for them to remain strangers who meet by chance.
Those tragic and lamentable past events, those heart-wrenching and tearful wounds, will all be sealed away with Liao's madness.
Let her forever remain a child who harbors fantasies about her mother.
Jiang Sheng raised her head, her eyes as clear as ever, with a knowing clarity, as if nothing in the world could trouble or imprison her.
Jiang Jizu regained his composure and sighed with a complex expression, "Alright."
Someone quickly stepped forward and stopped the crazed Liao.
Someone bent down to pick them up and took away the bewildered Liao family members.
While Jiang Sheng was slightly distracted, her brothers rushed over and surrounded her.
"You were scared just now, weren't you? You'll need to eat a few big pork knuckles when you get home to calm your nerves," Zheng Ruqian said jokingly, clearly trying to cheer her up.
“Jiang Sheng isn’t afraid, Third Brother is always here.” Fang Heng’s words were as simple and sincere as ever.
"Fourth Brother is here too. He's been here even longer than Third Brother," Wen Zhiyun whispered, emphasizing his own importance.
"Then Fifth Brother can't be absent either," Changyan said, shrugging.
That's great. Even though we've lost our mother, our brothers are still here for us.
Jiang Sheng put aside her last bit of disappointment and put on a smile on her round face.
"Um, um, I'm here too." Jiang Chengyu came over awkwardly at some point and took Jiang Sheng's hand. "I'm your only sister."
Jiang Chengfeng scratched his head. He was too old to join in the fun, so he could only cough twice to make his presence known.
These kids are so wonderful.
Madam Jiang smiled, her gaze fixed on Liao's struggling back. She wondered if Liao had wavered or doubted that Jiang Sheng was her biological daughter during the past six months. She probably had, but hatred sustained her and her desire for revenge hardened her to the point that she would rather ignore countless details than give up her hatred for Jiang Sheng and the Yao family.
Now that things have come to this, there's really no one to blame but themselves.
Fortunately, her granddaughter returned.
Jiang Sheng lost too much in the first half of her life, but her life from now on will be more and more joyful.
On the other hand, some people are successful and proud in the first half of their lives, but will eventually fall hard into the mire.
Jiang Chenghuan remained in the position of having fallen, the pain of being pushed away by Liao Shi still lingering in her heart. The bewilderment of losing her last relative enveloped her, but when she looked up, she saw Jiang Sheng surrounded by admirers.
Some fragments of memories are awakening in my mind.
It seems like many years ago, they met somewhere, one of them surrounded by admirers, while the other fell to the ground.
Time flows on, years pass by.
The little beggar who refused to cry out even when his palm was bruised, and the noble and aloof third young lady, eventually became each other's images.
And she...
She lost her brother's care, lost her father's love, and in the end, she was even disliked by her mother.
My heart hurts so much that I need to gasp for breath.
The tears falling silently seemed to remind her that everything she had tried to hold onto had slipped through her fingers.
She was not only a fake heiress, but also the child of the Jiang family's enemy. Her existence stemmed from her birth mother's scheming, and her wealth was stolen from an innocent girl.
What will the Jiang family do with her?
Will he become a Buddhist nun like his mother? Or will his family be destroyed? Or will he follow in his alcoholic father's footsteps?
No matter what, the beauty and nobility of the past will vanish like fireworks, leaving her only with endless sorrow and atonement.
