The highly anticipated third season of the variety show finally reached its crucial final day of competition. Early that morning, just as the sun was breaking through the earth, the livestream audience eagerly waited in front of their screens, like birds clamoring for food, anticipating a spectacular performance. Although the exhibition hadn't officially begun, the livestream was already ablaze with enthusiasm. Comments poured down like a dense spring rain, showering the screen with a continuous stream that was a feast for the eyes.
In the lobby of the two distinctive exhibition halls, members of the two groups, along with special guest Tao Huaixi, were already quietly awaiting the opening of the exhibition. Inside, one hundred public judges began to arrive. Each of their faces was filled with excitement and delight, not only because they were honored to be selected as judges, but also because they were incredibly happy to be able to interact so closely with the people they had long admired. Normally, they could only watch them from afar in the livestream, but now they could witness their presence in person, a truly proud moment.
As the last judge entered the exhibition hall, the director walked steadily toward the crowd. Smiling, he glanced at everyone present and the audience in the livestream, then solemnly announced, "Hello everyone! On this special day, we are finally welcoming this highly anticipated judging competition. First, I would like to once again express my sincerest gratitude to Mr. Tao Huaixi and the one hundred judges! It's your presence that makes this competition even more exciting!"
As soon as the director finished speaking, thunderous applause broke out instantly. The warm applause seemed to be a recognition and praise for everyone's efforts.
"Okay, next, I would like to thank the two teams for their hard work over the past two days. I went into the exhibition hall in advance and I really didn't expect that with only 5,000 yuan in funding, the two teams could decorate the exhibition hall so well. It must have taken a lot of their efforts! No matter what the result of the competition is, everyone will always remember your efforts! You have worked really hard!" The director's words were full of sincere emotions.
"Finally, before the exhibition officially begins, let's appreciate the paintings of Qu Qingdai and Jiang Baizhi over the past two days. Please look at the big screen!" The director's voice echoed in the exhibition hall, and everyone's eyes were focused on the big screen, ready to welcome a visual feast.
On the giant screen in the lobby, two images of paintings in distinct styles slowly appeared. One of the four frames, each delicately depicting a different scene, stood out. It was the scene from the second episode of the show, showing everyone riding a bamboo raft. The raft swayed gently in the water, and the characters' expressions were so lifelike that one could almost feel the joy and comfort they felt at the time.
Another painting depicts a bustling street scene during the Lunar New Year. Red lanterns hang high, and upside-down Chinese characters for "Fu" (good fortune) are pasted on the wall, creating a festive atmosphere. People's faces are filled with bright smiles, filled with anticipation and joy for the New Year. Every detail is meticulously portrayed, allowing one to hear the joyful laughter and smell the rich festive atmosphere.
These two works, though of completely different genres, both delighted the audience present and those watching the livestream. They couldn't believe that such complete and stunning paintings could be created in such a short two-day period. Every line and every color spoke of the artists' dedication and hard work, leaving viewers captivated by their talent and in awe of their creativity.
Qu Qingdai stared intently at Jiang Baizhi's painting on the big screen, pondering to herself. Sure enough, it was identical to a painting from her previous life. In her previous life, she'd painted a scene of the orphanage celebrating the Lunar New Year together. Compared to Jiang Baizhi's lively scenes of ordinary people celebrating the Lunar New Year, her painting was too narrow, significantly underperforming the competition. Therefore, in this life, she'd changed her style, no longer matching Jiang Baizhi's style.
When Jiang Baizhi saw the painting on the screen, a look of disbelief crossed her face. She was filled with confusion and surprise. Clearly, in the original novel, the heroine's painting depicted them celebrating the New Year together at the orphanage. How could it be so different now? Recalling the twists and turns of the previous two programs, she couldn't help but feel apprehensive, worried that things might change again. This fear of the unknown made her panic and uneasy.
"Okay, now the photos of these two paintings have been shown to you, and their finished products are in the exhibition hall. You can go and see them later. Now, let's ask the two painters to talk about how their paintings are related to the theme given by the program team. Who of you will go first?" The director turned his gaze to Qu Qingdai and Jiang Baizhi and asked gently.
"Let me go first!" Qu Qingdai took a step forward and said, "My painting depicts four different scenes in total. The first scene is when I was a child in an orphanage, celebrating the holidays with the director's mother and other friends. I believe that everyone has spent happy holidays with their families when they were young, and although I grew up in an orphanage, I am no different from everyone else. The director's mother's love for us is as warm as that of family, and we have spent many happy holidays together. The second scene is a picture of me and my brother studying together. Maybe when you were a child, you encountered questions you didn't understand in your studies. I could ask my parents for help with any questions, but I only have my brother. We encourage and push each other to study hard. Although our life is ordinary, it is full of joy. The third scene shows me as an adult, after I developed a love for painting, and I strive for my dream again and again. I think everyone, like me, has struggled for their dreams. The last scene is when we were searching for treasure chests in the second episode of the program, riding a bamboo raft together. This is also in line with the theme of "Ordinary Us." Qu Qingdai's voice is clear and loud, and her words are full of understanding and emotion for her paintings.
