Chapter 46 Art Exhibition Competition Results

After hearing what Tao Huaixi said, Qu Qingdai was deeply moved. She said, "Thank you, Mr. Tao. I will continue to work hard to improve my painting skills and live up to your expectations."

Afterwards, Tao Huaixi walked slowly into Jiang Baizhi's exhibition hall. His eyes were quickly attracted by the eleven works, and then he walked to the side full of modern style.

There, he intently admired five urban paintings. His brows alternated between a slight frown and a look of admiration. As he admired them, he softly commented, "Baizhi, look at this painting. The lines of the skyscrapers are so firmly defined, perfectly capturing both the city's austerity and its prosperity. And the use of color is so ingenious, it makes one feel the city's fast pace and energy."

Jiang Baizhi stood aside, listening to Tao Huaixi's comments with a smile, her eyes sparkling with joy. She responded, "Mr. Huaixi, I am honored that you can interpret my work so carefully. I really hope to convey the unique charm of the city through these works."

Tao Huaixi nodded and continued, "Well, you did it. And while depicting the hustle and bustle of the city, you also captured some warm moments, which makes the whole picture more three-dimensional and rich."

Jiang Baizhi said modestly, "You're too kind. I still have a lot of shortcomings that need improvement."

Tao Huaixi patted Jiang Baizhi on the shoulder and encouraged her, "Don't be modest. You are already very good. Keep up your creative passion. You will surely present more wonderful works to everyone in the future."

"Thank you for your affirmation, Mr. Huaixi. Now let's go to the other side and look at the works about the countryside. I'm more satisfied with the works over there!" Jiang Baizhi smiled, her eyes full of anticipation. She tried to lead Tao Huaixi to the other side of the exhibition area. Because over there was her "ace" work, it was her masterpiece that she believed was enough to attract Mr. Tao Huaixi to accept her as his apprentice.

"Okay, let's go take a look." Tao Huaixi smiled and gladly accepted Jiang Baizhi's proposal. There was a hint of curiosity in his eyes, and he seemed to be full of anticipation for the "satisfactory" work that Jiang Baizhi mentioned.

Then, they walked briskly to the green exhibition area, which seemed like a tranquil countryside world, with a fresh scent in the air and works of art on display, seemingly bringing people into the vibrant countryside.

Tao Huaixi fixed his gaze on the five works, instantly captivated, unable to look away. He approached them with swift, vigorous steps, meticulously examining every detail, including the layout, color, and scene presented.

Sometimes he frowned tightly, and sometimes his expression was serious, as if he was lost in deep thought. His eyes wandered over each work, not missing any subtle details, and there was deep meaning hidden in his eyes.

Seeing Tao Huaixi so eagerly trotting toward the works, Jiang Baizhi felt a surge of delight. She knew they had surely caught her eye. She was certain these paintings would change her fate. Sure enough, Tao Huaixi was captivated by their allure. She felt secretly pleased, thinking it had all been worth it, that the painstaking effort she had put into retrieving these paintings after traveling through the book had paid off. Now, these paintings were hers completely, and all the glory and splendor would be hers. She seemed to see her future self, standing at the pinnacle of art, enjoying endless glory.

"Baizhi, did you draw all these paintings? Are you really the original author of these works?" Tao Huaixi suddenly spoke. His words broke Jiang Baizhi's thoughts and brought her back to her senses from her fantasy.

"Of course, Mr. Tao, these are my previous works. Each one was carefully painted by me. They are unique! Although my painting skills may not have been very superb at that time, I am really satisfied with them. I am sorry to have embarrassed you!" Jiang Baizhi raised her head, her face filled with pride, and she did not hear the deep meaning of Tao Huaixi's words at all.

"Oh? Are you sure these are unique? Are they really created by you?" Tao Huaixi asked again, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

"Of course, I'm sure! What's wrong, Mr. Tao?" Jiang Baizhi frowned slightly, vaguely sensing that something was wrong.

"Oh, it's nothing, I was just asking. The painting is really good!" Tao Huaixi said, but the smile on his face had disappeared.

"Hahaha, thank you for your compliment!" Jiang Baizhi responded with a smile.

"Now that we've finished reading, let's evaluate the final results." After Tao Huaixi said that, he turned and left, leaving Jiang Baizhi standing there alone.

"Alas..." Jiang Baizhi looked at Tao Huaixi's departing back, her heart full of confusion. This was completely different from what was described in the original book. What was going on? Before she could think about it, she was called to the hall.

By this time, the one hundred public judges had completed their voting. The two groups, along with guest judge Tao Huaixi, stood in a neat row before the crowd, each one filled with anticipation, quietly awaiting the final answer.

"Well, thank you all very much for participating in this art exhibition. Now, I want to tell you that our evaluation has come to a successful conclusion. First of all, let us announce the voting results of the one hundred public judges. At this moment, what I have in my hand is the final statistical data. So, the winner of this public review is..." The director deliberately prolonged his tone and kept the audience in suspense.
