Chapter 6 Negotiation

Qu Qingdai followed the Jiang family of three slowly to the Jiang family's old house. In the spacious living room, Jiang Baizhi, who had changed her clothes, and the Jiang family's parents sat opposite Qu Qingdai.

Qu Qingdai didn't care about their presence at all. She sat there, playing with her mobile phone leisurely, and ignored the expressions of the other three people.

Liu Peilan looked at Qu Qingdai with dissatisfaction. Just as she was about to say a few words, Jiang Baizhi beside her gently tugged at the corner of her clothes and shook her head slightly at her.

Liu Peilan thought that they still needed Qu Qingdai to accompany Jiang Baizhi on the variety show, so she had to suppress the anger that was about to explode.

"Qu Qingdai, look at you. You don't know how to sit properly. You are still playing with your phone while your elders are here! You should learn from your sister. Look at what a mess you have made of today's family reunion banquet!" Qu Zhezhou gritted his teeth and squeezed out these words from between his teeth. His voice was low and hoarse, as if it was squeezed out from the depths of his throat with great difficulty.

"I'm sorry, it's not me who wants to host the family recognition party. Please understand that it was you who insisted on inviting me to attend! I didn't say I wanted to recognize you." Qu Qingdai said indifferently. She was originally just sitting, but now her whole body sank into the sofa, half lying down more comfortably.

"How do you talk to your father like that! You poured wine on your sister and pushed someone. Do you have any manners at all?" Liu Peilan could no longer control her emotions. Her anger surged out like a flood. Her voice became sharp and piercing because of anger, as if it was going to overturn the entire living room.

"I'm sorry, I've been growing up with my brother, and no one has ever taught me how to treat others. I only know how to say different things to different people, so if I meet a ghost, I'll naturally say ghost stories." Qu Qingdai raised her chin slightly, her eyes filled with disdain and contempt, looking straight at the other person.

"You..." Liu Peilan was speechless after hearing Qu Qingdai's words, and for a moment she didn't know how to respond.

"Okay, stop making trouble, Qingdai. You were indeed wrong about what happened at the banquet today. Your actions will only bring shame to the entire Jiang family. You are now a member of the Jiang family, and you must learn to consider the Jiang family..." Jiang Zhezhou looked at Qu Qingdai and said earnestly. His mouth opened and closed, and he kept talking about those so-called big principles, and his words were full of unquestionable tough tone.

"Okay, stop talking about this nonsense and just tell me why you asked me to come back to attend this family reunion banquet." Qu Qingdai kept fiddling with her phone nonchalantly. She frowned slightly, with the corners of her mouth turned down, revealing a very obvious look of boredom, as if she was extremely tired of all this.

"Dad..." Jiang Baizhi called softly, her eyes fixed on Qu Qingdai's dissatisfied expression. She reminded Jiang Zhezhou to get back to the topic and hoped that he would talk about the variety show as soon as possible.

Although she had successfully altered many plot points from the original novel, not only did the Jiang family's parents no longer feel guilty about Qu Qingdai as they did in the original novel, but they also tried their best to make amends and dote on her. Now, the Jiang family's parents were completely obsessed with their adopted daughter, and Qu Qingdai's behavior at the family recognition banquet made everyone present feel that she was arrogant and unworthy of being the daughter of the Jiang family. Her goal had been achieved, but she also worried that the plot had been changed too much.

Qu Qingdai's current personality is completely different from that in the novel. If Qu Qingdai is unwilling to cooperate and accompany her to participate in the variety show, it would be a loss. She still has many plans to complete.

Looking at his daughter, who had been held in his hands since childhood, looking at him with eyes full of expectation, Jiang Zhezhou's anger dissipated for the most part.

He turned to look at Qu Qingdai and said, "For your sister's sake, I won't say anything more about you. Now that you've returned to the Jiang family, your sister is going to have a variety show, so you should accompany her. On the show, you should show the love between the two daughters of the Jiang family and make some contributions to the Jiang family. This will be worthy of your status as a daughter of the Jiang family. If you do well in the variety show, I'll let your sister introduce you to the circle. Aren't you learning painting? If you perform well, I'll find a professional teacher to guide you."

"Oh, don't say that. You can let me participate in the variety show, but I don't want the identity of the Jiang family's daughter you mentioned. If you want me to participate, you have to agree to one condition of mine, that is to sever all ties between me and you, and anything in your Jiang family has nothing to do with me. My household registration is only with my brother and will not be moved back to the Jiang family. Only in this way, will I participate in the variety show and perform well!" Qu Qingdai straightened her body, her eyes staring straight at Jiang Zhezhou. There was no fear in her eyes, but instead a firmness and determination.

"Of course, words aren't enough. I've already had a lawyer write a letter of severance." Qu Qingdai pulled out the relevant contract from her bag and continued, "Sign it, and I'll meet all your demands."

In her previous life, she had also been arranged to participate in this variety show, but it became the beginning of her tragic life. Back then, she treated Jiang Baizhi sincerely, but Jiang Baizhi secretly hurt her, making her Jiang Baizhi's control group. On that variety show, her reputation was ruined and her name was ruined. The Jiang family was ashamed of her. From then on, she no longer longed for the affection of her family, only to return to her brother's side. However, the Jiang family refused to let her leave, claiming that her household registration was with the Jiang family. They even tried to exploit her last remaining value by marrying her off to an elderly man in his fifties. If she hadn't fought back desperately, her fate would have been worse than her previous life's death in a foreign land.
