Chapter 64 She is the President’s Wife

The receptionist stared blankly at the hung-up call. She hadn't even had time to tell Zhang Na that the caller was Qu Qingdai. Qu Qingdai had recently become a popular figure on variety shows, and her fame had skyrocketed. She thought she might be a customer of the company, though she knew the possibility was very low. After all, Qu Qingdai had brought an insulated box, clearly for the CEO. She had never seen a customer bring an insulated box to discuss business.

The receptionist turned to look at Qu Qingdai, who was sitting not far away. She quickly walked over, stopped, and said apologetically, "Ms. Qu, I'm really sorry. The president is in a meeting right now and is very busy. Look at this..."

"It's okay. When will your CEO be done?" Qu Qingdai looked up at the large clock on the wall, still smiling, and asked gently. She thought to herself that she wasn't in a hurry and could wait for him here for a while, but seeing the embarrassed look on the young lady's face, she knew that things might not be that simple.

"I'm not sure about that. Why don't you come back another day?" the receptionist said cautiously, calculating. Perhaps the next time Miss Qu came, she'd have a chance to see the president. If they waited here, they might not even have a chance to see him. After all, he never left through the main entrance, and they had no idea when he'd leave.

"I see. Could you lend me your phone?" Qu Qingdai said with a smile, pointing to the landline at the front desk. Ah Mo didn't know she was looking for him, so he hadn't informed anyone there. She thought it would be best to call him in person. She'd been in such a rush when she left that she'd forgotten her phone. Fortunately, she'd memorized his number, or she'd be back empty-handed.

"Of course, please feel free to use it." The receptionist said casually with a kind smile on her face. Then, she led Qu Qingdai to the telephone at the front desk.

"Thank you. You can go about your business. You don't have to come and greet me." Qu Qingdai said with a smile. In her heart, she couldn't help but praise the little receptionist for her good attitude.

In a spacious and solemn conference room, Su Jingmo stood before a large screen, methodically expounding on the company's upcoming plans and its future development blueprint after relocating to Beijing. His voice was steady and powerful, yet devoid of warmth, like winter ice, conveying an invisible pressure.

The entire conference room was filled with a tense atmosphere, with only Su Jingmo's stern voice echoing. Every word he spoke was imbued with deep thought, and every decision he made displayed his extraordinary wisdom and insight. Everyone listened intently, not slacking off for fear of missing a single detail.

"Beep...beep..." When the meeting was halfway through, a crisp and pleasant cell phone ringtone suddenly rang, instantly breaking the original quiet atmosphere in the meeting room.

Everyone glanced at each other nervously, their eyes filled with anxiety and panic. They wondered, "It was Secretary Zhang's phone that rang just now. Secretary Zhang wasn't in the meeting room now, so who on earth was so audacious to leave it on right now?"

Everyone saw deep sympathy in each other's eyes. If this had happened once, perhaps the president would have chosen to forgive him, since he hadn't been speaking just then. But the second time, it was hard to say. Furthermore, he had been interrupted so unfortunate that the person whose phone rang was truly unlucky. Everyone thought the same thing, hoping the president wouldn't take his anger out on innocent people like them.

Su Jingmo quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket. When he saw the caller ID, his brow furrowed in confusion. He knew that only his beloved Dai Dai and the villa's housekeeper had access to this phone number, but the caller ID in front of him was unfamiliar. Could something have happened at home? A surge of anxiety surged in his heart, and he quickly pressed the answer button, asking in a cold voice, "What's the matter?"

"Guess who I am?" Qu Qingdai's playful voice came from the other end of the phone, with a hint of agility and liveliness.

"Daidai?" Su Jingmo heard a familiar giggle from the other end of the line and whispered in confusion. Why would she call him from an unfamiliar number? The key question wasn't that, but where was she right now? She'd agreed to be in the studio painting all day, so was she calling him now because something had happened? Su Jingmo was so anxious that he didn't even notice the smile in Qu Qingdai's voice.

"Dismiss!" Su Jingmo suddenly raised his head, his icy gaze sweeping across the group of senior officials like a sharp sword. Their eyes flashed with various expressions. Su Jingmo spoke coldly. He had extremely important matters to attend to and didn't have time to waste with them any longer.

After hearing Su Jingmo's words, all the executives scurried out of the conference room like frightened rabbits. At that moment, they couldn't care less about their image. In their opinion, being criticized by the CEO was much better than being laughed at by others.

Although they were filled with surprise, not understanding why the CEO's phone rang during a meeting, and even more curious about who was calling and why their usually cold-blooded boss's eyes had softened after answering the phone, they still wouldn't dare eavesdrop on the CEO's private phone call, even if they had a hundred guts.
