Chapter 49 Cleaning "You two would be better off getting some sleep, but I..."
"You mean the Gu poison is on me?" Su Panyue pointed to herself in disbelief.
Imperial Physician Gao glanced at Gui Bo and said, "We'll know once we try."
Uncle Gui beckoned to Su Panyue, "Come on, girl, don't listen to his mystical talk."
Su Panyue walked over and let him take her pulse, pursing her lips nervously.
A moment later, Gui Bo stopped, "It really is true, the Zi Gu is indeed inside you."
Su Panyue frowned slightly, as if she remembered something. This should be the Gu pill that Sun Shi gave her. She put it in herself. She never expected it to end up in her body.
She tilted her head and asked Uncle Gui, "What would happen if the mother and child Gu were both inside the body?"
Gui Bo said, "Then the mother and child will fight each other, and in the end they will explode and die."
Su Panyue remained silent for a long time after hearing this, her back covered in cold sweat. She had almost killed Xie Lanzhou. Fortunately, he hadn't eaten it at the same time, so this was the best possible outcome.
Su Panyue asked, "Then what should we do now?"
Gui Bo said with a wicked grin, "You two had better be able to get some sleep, but judging from his appearance, I don't think that's going to happen."
Su Panyue hesitated before asking, "Take a nap?"
"Yes, that's exactly what you think." Uncle Gui nodded calmly.
Su Panyue remained silent for a long time, feeling as if the air in the hall had frozen. Fu Gonggong and the others lowered their heads as if searching for something.
Only Imperial Physician Gao frowned in thought, and after a moment he spoke, breaking the silence in the hall, "I can prescribe some medicine so that even if a person is unconscious, they should still be able to have intercourse."
Su Panyue had been looking at him expectantly, hoping he would have some good ideas, but she never expected him to say something so surprising.
Gui Bo became interested: "You old rascal, instead of studying important matters, why are you starting to think about these crooked and unorthodox methods?"
Imperial Physician Gao: "This matter concerns human ethics and the continuation of offspring, how can it be considered a heretical practice?"
"Furthermore, sexual intimacy is a natural human desire. What's wrong with a wife whose husband is in a coma wanting to have a child for herself?"
Gui Bo chuckled, "To be able to talk about aphrodisiacs so seriously, I think your skin is getting thicker and thicker."
The imperial physician, Gao, was furious and retorted, "What do you know, you old bachelor?!"
Uncle Gui snorted coldly, "That's still better than your wife running away!"
Seeing that the two were about to start arguing, Su Panyue suppressed her gossipy heart and interrupted, "Alright, alright, what you both said makes sense."
"However, this method is somewhat flawed. Are there any other methods?"
Imperial Physician Gao regained his composure and said, "Your Highness, please rest assured. Although His Majesty is somewhat weak, he still has the essence of his youth and has been accumulating virility for a long time. As long as you exercise a little control, it will not harm his health."
Su Panyue was speechless for a long time after hearing this, and finally managed to say, "That's not what I'm worried about..."
She found it really hard to say. When Xie Lanzhou was full of energy, their relationship was consensual and it was a natural progression. But now he was unconscious, and she had just escaped and was walking right into his trap. It just didn't seem right!
Just as she was hesitating, Gui Bo spoke up again: "Even the Imperial Concubine has said she doesn't want to, yet you, a mere imperial physician, are making arrangements."
Imperial Physician Gao glared at him resentfully, but finally bowed and apologized: "Your Majesty, please forgive me. I was just worried about His Majesty's health. I hope Your Majesty will not take offense."
Su Panyue said it was alright, then turned to Uncle Gui for help: "Is there any other way?"
"Yes, as long as the offspring Gu gets close, it can soothe the mother Gu. You can take care of him closely, and he will wake up, it'll just be a little slower," Gui Bo said lazily.
Su Panyue immediately nodded in agreement, "Yes, I can take care of Your Majesty personally."
Grandpa Fu, standing to the side, looked hesitant, as if he was struggling with something.
Gui Bo reminded him, "These mother and child Gu are bound by life and death, depending on each other for survival. If one of you dies, the other won't live much longer either. You have to be careful."
These words seemed to be addressed to Su Panyue, but one of his eyes was fixed on Eunuch Fu, who gave an awkward laugh, "Then I'll have to trouble Your Highness, the Imperial Concubine."
Su Panyue waved her hand and smiled gratefully at Uncle Gui, "Thank you."
Uncle Gui smiled mysteriously, "Don't thank me yet. Don't forget what you promised me. I'll make my request to you after he wakes up."
Su Panyue couldn't guess what he would ask for, so she could only agree for the time being.
Eunuch Fu arranged for Gui Bo to stay, while Su Panyue moved back into the Hall of Mental Cultivation.
The other imperial physicians dispersed, and Eunuch Fu gave Su Panyue one last look before also leaving.
Only Su Panyue remained sitting at the table inside the hall.
Even though the man lying on the bed was completely still, she inexplicably felt a little nervous.
She picked up the teapot on the table, poured herself a glass of warm water, and then poured another glass before walking to the bedside.
The man's lips were bloodless; she touched them twice, and they were soft and dry.
"Your Majesty, would you like some water? Let me feed you some." She said to herself, helping the man up and leaning him against the soft pillow beside her.
She brought the glass of water close to his lips, and the man seemed to cooperate by slightly opening his mouth, allowing her to slowly feed him a little.
Whether it was my imagination or not, the man's face seemed to have a bit more color after drinking water.
After doing all that, she helped Xie Lanzhou lie back down, and then lay down beside him herself.
Remembering the meaningful words "close to the body" from Gui Bo, she hesitated for a moment before pressing her face against the man's chest.
Listening to his steady heartbeat, my nerves, which had been tense for days, finally began to relax.
Overwhelmed by the exhaustion of not having slept all night, she nestled against the man and slowly drifted off to sleep.
*
When she woke up, she found that candles had been lit in the hall. The two people standing at the door saw her open her eyes and immediately ran over. They were Feixue and Feiyan.
Feiyan was the first to run to the bedside and said, "My lady, you're finally back."
Her voice wasn't quiet, and Su Panyue subconsciously looked at Xie Lanzhou lying on the inside, a little afraid of waking him up. Then she suddenly remembered that he was unconscious and sighed silently.
Su Panyue looked Feixue and Feiyan up and down, and asked with some concern, "After I left, did His Majesty punish you?"
Feixue shook her head: "Don't worry, Your Highness, His Majesty has not punished us."
Su Panyue breathed a sigh of relief and then asked, "Was His Majesty angry?"
Feixue hesitated and did not speak, while Feiyan replied, "His Majesty is certainly angry, but he is probably more saddened than angry."
Feixue glanced at the man on the bed, then at the outspoken Feiyan, and said first, "Is Your Highness hungry? Let's go outside for a meal."
Su Panyue nodded and followed them to the outer room. The table outside was already set with food. She pulled the two of them to sit down at the table, and they could not refuse, so they could only sit on either side of Su Panyue.
Su Panyue said earnestly, "I apologize for leaving without saying a word earlier. I had no choice but to do so. I hope you won't mind."
Both Feiyan and Feixue said there was no need for that.
"Tell me what His Majesty did after I left," Su Panyue asked.
"His Majesty was very angry at first; I had never seen His Majesty so frightening before," Fei Yan recalled.
"Although His Majesty was angry, he did not punish the palace servants of Jingchun Palace," Feixue added.
"Not only that, His Majesty also comes back to Jingchun Palace every day to sit for a while, and sometimes even stays here overnight."
Upon hearing this, Su Panyue couldn't help but ask, "Where are you staying?"
Feiyan replied, "He is staying on the young mistress's bed. I suppose His Majesty is also missing the young mistress."
Thinking of Xie Lanzhou sneaking into her bed in the middle of the night to sleep, Su Panyue felt a mix of emotions. It was like the first batch of oranges in winter: the first bite was sour, then a little sweet, but if you accidentally ate some orange peel, it would taste a bit bitter.
After the three of them had eaten together, Su Panyue told the other two to go back and rest.
Eunuch Fu arranged for two eunuchs to bring in two large buckets of hot water.
Su Panyue asked curiously, "What is this for?"
Eunuch Fu replied, "Your Majesty, it's for washing His Majesty's body."
Su Panyue blinked, wondering if she should excuse herself, when she heard Eunuch Fu continue, "Since Your Highness is going to take care of His Majesty personally, why don't you wash His Majesty today?"
Hearing this, she turned her head uncomfortably to look at the man lying comfortably on the bed. He had agreed so readily today, but he had forgotten about washing his body.
Eunuch Fu assumed she was worried about something else and comforted her, "Your Highness, don't worry, there are wheelchairs specially made by the Imperial Household Department here, so you don't need to worry."
Su Panyue glanced at the wooden wheelchair beside her. Two eunuchs had already carefully lifted Xie Lanzhou onto it. At this point, Su Panyue really couldn't refuse, so she had no choice but to bite the bullet and agree.
After Eunuch Fu and his men left, Su Panyue pushed Xie Lanzhou to the two large buckets of hot water, looking at the rising steam and hesitating, unsure of where to begin.
"Let's take off the clothes first," Su Panyue took a deep breath and prepared to start.
Xie Lanzhou was only wearing a snow-white undergarment with a belt around her waist. With a gentle tug, she loosened the belt, revealing her entire body.
The two had been intimate countless times before, and this wasn't the first time she had faced a man's muscular physique. However, this was the first time she had taken off his clothes herself, and Su Panyue still couldn't help but blush.
As she placed his undergarment aside, she silently prayed to herself, "Please don't take advantage of him in his vulnerable state."
When she got back and wet a cloth to wipe him, she couldn't resist wiping him with her hands.
After lying in bed for several days, Xie Lanzhou had lost some weight, but his muscle definition had become more pronounced, and he felt great to the touch.
Su Panyue tossed the handkerchief aside and simply cupped her hands to pour water onto his porcelain-white skin. The white jade, when exposed to water, shimmered under the candlelight, dazzling Su Panyue so much that she couldn't look away.
She scooped up some warm water and poured it down his neck. The water flowed down his collarbone, leaving a pool of clear liquid, which then continued down the muscle lines and disappeared.
Su Panyue kept wetting his body with hot water, but she didn't know where to start.
Xiao Long was also asleep, but his condition was still quite good. Su Panyue hesitated, unsure of how to proceed.
Some indescribable memories flooded her mind, and she decisively picked up the towel that had been thrown onto the edge of the bucket and began to wipe him clean through the towel.
While wiping him, I kept marveling at how fair he was; his skin shone brightly under the water's reflection.
His skin turned from white to pink, especially the tender tips of his budding lotus leaves, which were delicate and pink, completely at odds with his cold and hard personality.
Whether it was because the hot water was too hot or something else, Su Panyue was lost in thought about the absurdity of the two of them earlier when she suddenly felt a heat in her palms. Looking down, she saw that the heat was coming from through the handkerchief.
Then she opened her eyes wide in shock and realized that the handkerchief could no longer cover the little dragon.
It grew up without me even realizing it...

Author's Note: What exactly has grown up? It's so hard to guess! [doge emoji]
Even porridge in a coma can cause this; it's truly a case of "physiological liking."
