Chapter 570

Chapter 570

Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda didn't want to miss this opportunity to get to the bottom of things, but Shinryu Samakawa didn't want to say anything more.

"It's a bit complicated to explain."

Samikawa Shinryu is often too lazy to explain, and usually, if he can explain, Hagiwara Kenji will do it for him. He's been used to it, but this time, Hagiwara Kenji has no idea what's going on. Seeing Samikawa Shinryu's old habit kicking in again, he gets a little itchy to do something.

"Then cut to the chase," Kenji Hagiwara said through gritted teeth and a smile.

Han Chuan Shenliu pondered for a moment: "How about this, I'll have your old classmate explain it to me later."

Matsuda Jinpei: "Huh?"

Kenji Hagiwara was dumbfounded: "Wait, 'old classmate' means...?"

“I discovered a few Japanese Public Security moles within the organization, and after some investigation, I found they are your old classmates.” Hanchuan Shenliu tilted his head. “However, the organization is currently undergoing a transformation, so they might be very busy and won’t have time for a while… Aren’t you in a hurry?”

Matsuda Jinpei said blankly, "You seem to be in a hurry. The old classmate you're talking about, could it be the one you stopped from leaving the shrine last time?"

Kenji Hagiwara also remembered: "It's Zero?"

He remembered that at the time, Shinryu Samikawa had driven Rei Furuya to the point where he had to email Jinpei Matsuda for help...

Han Chuan Shenliu admitted: "Yes, he was in disguise at the time, but I recognized him, while he didn't recognize me."

Matsuda Jinpei sighed and pressed his temples: "Kankawa, can't you really tone down your perverse sense of humor... at least don't do it to your own people..."

Everyone knows who the other person is, but they still try to intimidate them...

Rei Furuya clearly didn't know that Shinryu Hatsukawa was one of his own, and was terrified that Shinryu Hatsukawa was about to expose his identity!

Matsuda Jinpei didn't question why Furuya Rei didn't know that Samikawa Fukari was also a member of that organization. After all, it was an illegal transnational organization, and it was normal for Furuya Rei not to know every member of such a large organization.

Furthermore, Kankawa Shinryu knew he was very conspicuous and probably took great care to keep it a secret, otherwise they would have received reports about Kankawa Shinryu long ago—well, it seems they did receive quite a few, but they were mostly misunderstandings… In short, the Japanese Public Security Bureau didn't come to Kankawa Shinryu because of the reports, which means they didn't report anything related to this organization!

Faced with Matsuda Jinpei's persuasion, Kanakawa Shinryu was quite self-righteous: "My main concern is Furuya Rei's abilities. If I expose him like this, it's better to cut our losses and leave the organization as soon as possible... You don't know, he was suspected of being an undercover agent as soon as he joined the organization."

Kenji Hagiwara was not swayed by Shinryu Kagawa: "But since he's managed to infiltrate this far, he must have some basic skills."

Han Chuan Shenliu: "Under such circumstances, he was working as a waiter, an undercover agent in an organization, and frequently went back to the police station to help with their work. He was doing three jobs at once and he wasn't discovered. He really has some ability."

Matsuda Jinpei stared in disbelief: "Huh? He's already an undercover agent and still goes back to the police station so often? That's too arrogant! What kind of training did he receive?"

“He certainly can’t refuse the tasks assigned by his superiors. If you ask me, this is where the Japanese Public Security Bureau falls short,” said Kanakawa Shinryu, seizing the opportunity.

This time, both Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda agreed with Shinryu Samakawa's view: "You're right, the Japanese Public Security Bureau is indeed incompetent."

"Wait, you've gone off-topic again." Matsuda Jinpei suddenly snapped back to reality. "You still haven't explained how you managed to transform the organization into this way!"

"Are you really in a hurry? Can't you even wait a month?"

Matsuda Jinpei was speechless: "Listen to yourself, are you even speaking human language? Shouldn't you be saying something like 'Can't you even wait a day?' A month is too long, it's perfectly normal not to be able to wait! What's with the explanation that we need to wait a month!"

"Alright." Han Chuan Shenliu took out his phone. "I'll call them over."

Kenji Hagiwara hesitated for a moment: "Won't this cause problems? Didn't you say they're very busy right now?"

Han Chuan Shenliu said casually, "If something happens, it's that organization that's in trouble. We're not the ones who should be worried."

Hagihara Kenji: "…………"

The elders of this transnational illegal organization, after all that trouble, have finally elected this successor... in a sense, it's a blessing in disguise.

Han Chuan Shenliu quickly edited the email and sent it: "It should arrive within an hour. What are our plans for the meantime?"

Knowing that Hanakawa Shinryu was too lazy to explain, it meant that no further answers could be forced out, Matsuda Jinpei gave up and thought for a moment: "Shall we play games while we wait? We bought a lot of food."

Hankawa Shinryu expressed his approval.

Rei Furuya and Kagemitsu Morofushi received the email at the same time.

They were engrossed in their work at the time.

After a period of adjustment, they reached a certain balance. Everyone knew that the others would make some underhanded moves, but since no one intended to restore the organization to its original state, they all turned a blind eye.

Rei Furuya was in charge of handling some of the problems caused by the organizational transformation, while Hiromitsu Morofushi was busy searching for useful talent and information to acquire.

Even when they're so busy that dark circles are practically welded to their faces, they're still incredibly energetic—working people aren't afraid of being busy, they're afraid of being busy for no reason!

Now that they can earn some value from every drop of sweat they shed, they'll work themselves to the bone.

Of course, no matter how busy they are, they will check the emails sent by Bo Yezhai as soon as possible.

After watching Rei Furuya's video, I had a bad feeling: "What does he mean? What kind of trouble is he causing all of a sudden?"

Morofushi Kagemitsu yawned: "I asked Akai, and Usui didn't invite Akai along. He probably only invited the two of us... Maybe it's related to the Japanese Public Security Bureau?"

“…Tsk.” Furuya Rei rubbed his temples. “Well, at this point, nothing could be more outrageous than an organization’s transformation…Let’s go.”

So Morofushi Kagemitsu and Furuya Rei prepared to set off together.

After getting in the car, they looked at the address again carefully, and their brains, which had been fogged up from working overtime, finally realized that something was wrong.

"This apartment... seems to be where Matsuda and Hagiwara live?" Morofushi Kagemitsu asked uncertainly.

Rei Furuya's lips twitched: "It's not just the apartment, this address looks familiar... But Hagiwara and Conan Edogawa are on good terms, so it's not surprising that he knows Usuiba."

“That’s true.” Morofushi Kagemitsu thought for a moment, “Actually, the squad leader also knows Usakuya, right? When there was a case, the squad leader would definitely suspect Usakuya because of me… If Usakuya had contact with Hagiwara, the squad leader might have reminded Hagiwara.”

"Is it because Thin Leaf has been too unrestrained lately that Hagiwara noticed something was wrong and detained him, which is why he wants us to come over?" Furuya Rei thought to himself, trying to find some humor in the scenario of a wish-fulfillment novel.

Moribu Kagemitsu subtly suggested, "Why don't you take a nap later..."

A healthy, normal mind wouldn't conjure up such an outrageous scenario.

How could Usoppō Saiki possibly allow himself to fall to such a state!

Perhaps because the biggest problem—the Black Organization—is no longer a problem, the two of them, despite being busy, are in a good mood and are not as suspicious as they were when they were undercover.

So when they parked their car, found the apartment according to the address, and saw that the nameplate outside did indeed say "Hagiwara," they weren't too worried about their old classmate's safety...

Even though Morofushi Kagemitsu sent a tentative email to Hagiwara Kenji on the way, asking what Hagiwara was doing so he could have a better idea, but he never received a reply, he didn't even consider the possibility that Usaku Saiki had kidnapped or murdered his old classmate.

Putting aside everything else, Usoppei's hands were truly clean; he even committed suicide when he had a mental breakdown.

It makes people feel both reassured and worried.

After a while, someone came to open the door.

Kenji Hagiwara opened the door, and his expression was quite complicated for some reason when he saw the two of them.

Rei Furuya chuckled dryly, "Long time no see."

After all, when he worked at Poirot Cafe before, he would occasionally see Kenji Hagiwara and Jinpei Matsuda. In order to get away, he had to expose his identity in front of Jinpei Matsuda. Now, it was hard for him to feel excited about the long-awaited reunion. He was even a little embarrassed.

However, seeing that Kenji Hagiwara was indeed alright, he was relieved.

Kenji Hagiwara quickly adjusted his mindset and smiled warmly: "Anyway, come in first."

When the two undercover agents silently took off their shoes in the entryway, Kenji Hagiwara checked them over.

"You've finished your undercover mission, right?"

“Yes, but there are still many things to take care of... It will take some time before we can return to normalcy,” Morofushi Kagemitsu explained.

Kenji Hagiwara nodded, his expression strange: "I know, the organization you infiltrated has switched to the pharmaceutical industry."

Jianggu Ling: "???"

Zhu Fujingguang was greatly surprised: "How did you know?! Did he tell you?"

Because he was unsure of the extent to which Usaku Saiki had described things, Morofushi Kagemitsu was very careful with his form of address.

“Yes.” Kenji Hagiwara was a little speechless. “I only found out today that the organization he kept talking about is the one you infiltrated… A while ago, he suddenly sent us an email saying that he had become the successor, and then he disappeared. It gave me and Jinpei quite a fright.”

Rei Furuya grew increasingly confused: "He even specifically told you that he'd become the heir?!"

Usui Saiki didn't even mention it to me while I was still in the organization! I only found out through a notification from the Boss that was practically a mass message! Why do Hagiwara and Matsuda get special treatment?

What's the relationship between the three of you? Something seems off to me.

I've never heard Usaku Saiki mention knowing Kenji Hagiwara or Jinpei Matsuda.

Moreover, if Usakabe Saiki really was that close to his old classmate, he felt even more resentful about the torment he suffered in the organization... Although he had always known that Usakabe Saiki's tormenting of people was intentional, now it felt like the degree of intentionality had reached a new level...

"It's a long story, but let's go in first. He and Jinpei are playing games." Kenji Hagiwara complained, "He's bad at it but loves to play."

That's so true, isn't it just that they're bad at the game but love to play?

Furuya Rei, who had once helped Usaku Saiki clear the game, followed Hagiwara Kenji inside while muttering to himself, and then stopped at the door of the room.

Morofushi Kagemitsu, who was at the very back because the corridor was not wide enough, was puzzled and peeked inside: "What's wrong...?!"

The person sitting in front of the monitor with Matsuda Jinpei turned his head and glanced at them.

His eyes were as cold and pale as ice, and his presence was as oppressive as a deep sea with turbulent undercurrents.

Although the hair and eye color were different from the person he had assumed he would see, knowing that Usui Seiki was in the room, Morofushi Kagemitsu suddenly remembered something and instantly made the connection.

He once found Usaku Saiki's wallet, which contained a photo of Usaku Saiki as a child.

At the time, he was thinking that hitting one's head could have such a big impact on a person. Usuoba Saiki's demeanor was completely different from when he was a child, but now it seems—

Bo Ye Saiki hasn't changed; he's just hidden his dangerous side!

After all, if Usaku Saiki had really joined the organization with this image, he would never have been able to gain the Boss's trust so quickly as before.

In other words, Usoppō Saiki had already been planning this year's power grab seven years ago...

How old was Bo Yezaki at that time?

16? 17?

...He's still a minor, yet he's already schemed everything to this extent. No wonder Shuichi Akai is so wary of Saiki Usakuba.

To achieve his goal, Usoya Saiki even suppressed his true nature...

Just as Morofushi Kagemitsu was having a brainstorming session, the young man slowly spoke.

"Bourbon, were you driving while fatigued? The Japanese Public Security Bureau still seems to enjoy violating traffic laws."

Morofushi Kagemitsu: "…………"

Okay, the part about suppressing one's true nature can be removed. As expected, Usakabe Saiki wouldn't compromise himself; his nature is just this wicked...

--------------------

Thank you everyone who's followed this far, we've finally reached this part of the plot... I haven't directly addressed the issue of alternate identities in this book, partly because I didn't want to give away any spoilers and hoped everyone could deduce the plot from the hints, and partly because, based on my observation of the comments section, responding would likely lead to some strange plot points being imagined beforehand.

People have been saying before that I feel like I might fake my death, and then they imagine a whole bunch of awkward scenarios. I've explained that I won't fake my death, but maybe because my comments aren't very obvious, people still bring it up often... So I'll just leave it at that to avoid it being misinterpreted.

I think this kind of identity reveal is like Amuro Tooru being revealed as Bourbon, and then being revealed as Furuya Rei – it's a satisfying moment. Usuiba has been constantly mentioning Furuya, which is a clear comparison and implication.

.

Strangely enough, when I was writing the Heroic Spirit Transformation System, many readers requested that my true identity be revealed, but I insisted on not doing so, which left many readers disappointed.

By the time I started reading this book, the trend of not revealing one's true identity had started again... I arranged the plot according to the established setting, but why do I feel like I'm always going against the trend...?

Although I'm always out of touch with trends, thank you to all the lovely readers who have been patient with me and followed my stories until now. Love you all!
