Chapter 101

In the modern version of "Flowers as Matchmakers" directed by Du Kang, the male protagonist Wang Junqing is played by Tao Mu, and the female protagonist Zhang Wuke is played by Jiang Cheng, a classmate recognized as the most beautiful girl in the class. She made a bold statement during military training that she would support Tao Mu's classmate when she became successful in the circle in the future. As for the protagonist's cousin Jia Junying, after a round of selection, he was snatched away by Chu Suian, a young man from Shanghai with thick eyebrows and big eyes. The second female role, Li Yue'e, was won over by another girl in the class named Yuan Di. Du Kang himself plays Li Yue'e's father Li Maolin. A rather funny character.

Also, Wen Bao had physically abused Du Kang, who was both the director and the screenwriter. In order to retaliate against Wen Bao, Director Du strongly requested Wen Bao to play the role of Ruan's mother. He also personally designed a character image for Aunt Ruan, with a floral skirt, flower hairpin and Liu Hulan hairstyle. Except for Wen Bao himself, the whole class applauded and passed the proposal unanimously.

This modern version of "Flower Matchmaker" has slightly changed the story background and character relationships due to the times. The male protagonist Wang Junqing, played by Tao Mu, is a rich second-generation who returned from studying abroad. After returning to China, he attended the 60th birthday of his father's friend and fell in love with his childhood sweetheart Li Yue'e at the birthday banquet. After making vows of love, the two wanted to get married quickly, but the Li family did not agree to the marriage. Because the Li family was a scholarly family, Li Yue'e's father hated the money-grubbing of businessmen the most.

Since the Li family does not agree to the marriage, the Wang family naturally will not rush to participate. At the same time, the Zhang family, who is also one of the richest families in the city, wants to form a business marriage with the Wang family. They ask someone to match their daughter Zhang Wu Ke with Wang family's son Wang Junqing, and want to arrange a blind date. The matchmaker is Aunt Ruan, who used to be the women's director of the neighborhood committee when she was young. After retirement, she is still busy and is particularly enthusiastic about finding partners for people everywhere.

As an elite returnee who has returned from studying abroad, Wang Junqing certainly does not agree with such a tacky arrangement as blind dates. Besides, he was devotedly in love with Xiao Qingmei, and it was even more impossible for him to agree to a business marriage with Miss Zhang, whom he had never met. However, Wang Junqing's parents put strong pressure on him, and Wang Junqing had no choice but to ask his childhood friend Jia Junying to go on a blind date for him. It’s best to find a way to ruin the blind date. This made Zhang Wuke dislike him, so he took the initiative to ask Zhang's parents not to arrange the marriage.

As a result, Zhang Wu Ke and Jia Junying fell in love at first sight when they met on a blind date and developed a liking for each other. However, Jia Junying came from an ordinary family and he did not have the courage to tell Zhang Wuke his true identity. He could only try his best to belittle "Wang Junqing" and tell Zhang Wuke that he was not worthy of her. I think Zhang Wuke deserves better.

As a result, the more Jia Junying belittled himself, the more Zhang Wuke admired his humility and outstanding talent. So when Zhang Wu Ke returned home, she told her parents that she was very satisfied with the young master of the Wang family and had no objection to the marriage.

On the other hand, Jia Junying returned home and heard his mother tell him that his mentor had called home in the morning and wanted to arrange a blind date for him and his mentor's daughter. It turns out that Jia Junying’s mentor is Li Maolin. The Li family is a scholarly family, and Li Maolin has always wanted a well-mannered son-in-law. It just so happens that Jia Junying is his favorite student. So this blind date was arranged.

Jia Junying lost his father when he was young and was raised by his mother. When he was in college, he was favored by his tutor and there was no way he could refuse the kindness of the two old men. I can only go on a blind date with Li Yue'e. Li Yue'e also didn't like Jia Junying, but she had been a gentle and obedient girl since she was a child and did not dare to rebel against her parents. I can only complain to my senior brother Jia Junying. When Jia Junying learned that his junior sister Li Yue'e liked his childhood friend, he agreed to explain it to his tutor. Dissuade his mentor from arranging a marriage for him.

On the other hand, Wang Junqing was shocked to learn that Zhang Wu Ke had actually agreed to the blind date. However, both the Zhang and Wang families are wealthy in the city, and now that the news has been released, the marriage is inevitable.

When Li Yue'e learned that Wang Junqing was going to get married, she fell seriously ill. So Li Yue'e's best friend gave her some advice and asked her to make a scene at the wedding. Wearing a wedding dress at the wedding, she forced Wang Junqing to ask whether he liked her or not?

Li Yue'e has been law-abiding since she was a child and has never done anything out of line. Now, in order to protect my love, I am willing to give it all. On the wedding day, she really wore her wedding dress to interrogate Wang Junqing. At this time, Zhang Wu Ke also realized that the person she really liked was not the groom Wang Junqing, but the best man Jia Junying. I'm saying I don't want to get married anymore.

Coincidentally, Li Yue'e also came to the wedding in her wedding dress. The two brides met at the wedding and actually developed a mutual affection. So Zhang Wuke made a bold decision to let Li Yue'e marry Wang Junqing and himself marry Jia Junying. The best of both worlds. Everyone is happy.

Because the entire script is adapted from the Pingju comedy "Flower as Matchmaker", the tone of the script has some absurd comedy elements in it. When adapting the play, Du Kang captured the essence of opera and turned the modern version of "Flower as Matchmaker" into a stage play with a touch of musical flavor.

In the few scenes where the male protagonist Tao Mu appears, he dances tango with Li Yue'e when they fall in love at first sight, dances hip-hop and jazz when he has his inner monologue, and the lines he sings while dancing are a medley adapted from current pop songs.

The performance styles of other characters are similar. The highlights are the dance between Wang Junqing and Li Yue'e, the dance between Jia Junying and Zhang Wu Ke when they were on a blind date, and the dance between Zhang Wu Ke and Li Yue'e when they met at the wedding, where they danced like peacocks competing for beauty. They all sing and dance at the same time. Especially the last wedding scene, it was extremely lively.

Tao Mu really showed off his hormones when performing. Every time he appeared on stage, the girls below would scream with excitement. However, after filming the entire scene, the most outstanding character was Wen Bao, who played the neighborhood committee auntie.

She was wearing a loose, dangling floral blouse, a Liu Hulan-style wig, and a pink Hello Kitty butterfly hairpin. When she appeared on stage, she had a shifty smile on her face and was able to hold the atmosphere of the entire audience as soon as she came on stage.

Especially in the last wedding scene, Wen Bao wore a bright red dress and danced a Northeastern Yangko dance on the stage - the background music was the kind of exciting DJ electronic music. Wen Bao, a man obsessed with stepping on the stage, turned around on the stage and unconsciously led all the actors to dance the yangge in sync with him.

That scene was simply amazing. It's so addictive that once you watch it, it will linger in your mind over and over again, like a 3D loop.

Anyway, everyone was laughing like crazy throughout the whole show. Even Tao Mu, who was full of thoughts, was having a great time. He really felt that it was a pleasure to film with an actor like Wen Bao.

"cheers!"

After the final drama ended, all the students of Class 1 of Beijing Film Academy's 2008 class were dragged by Wen Bao to Wen Juxiang to eat mutton hotpot.

As one of the important members of the class, Tao Mu certainly couldn't spoil the fun. I originally wanted to take Mr. Song and the others out for a dinner to celebrate after the final performance. Now we have to change our plans temporarily.

Liu Yaomengqi was very understanding and drove Mr. Song and Dean Tao back to Houhai. Before leaving, he told Tao Mu to have fun: "If you haven't had enough fun after dinner, you can come to Yese Jump. At least you don't have to worry about safety."

Tao Mu agreed with a smile. After watching his father Yao drive away with his family. He apologized to Li Xiaoheng again: "...I wanted to treat you to dinner. But I don't have time today."

"Don't apologize to me." Li Xiaoheng smiled slightly and said, "I'm very happy today. I feel like I saw a different you on the stage."

"It's very different from the me you usually see, right?" Tao Mu curled his lips: "Actually, our business is quite complicated. In the future, in order to film, I may have to spread rumors and shape my personality. You will see more faces of me. You may be disappointed then."

"If I like the Tao Mu in my impression, then the changes you mentioned may make me feel disappointed. But if I like the real you. The more sides you show, the happier I will be. Because I know a more complete Tao Mu." Li Xiaoheng smiled gently: "Complete does not necessarily mean real. If I like you, I will like your real side, and I will also find your fake side very interesting. A person's life is very long, and we will be together for decades. If everything is unchanging, wouldn't it be terrible?"

Tao Mu looked at Li Xiaoheng speechlessly: "Did you study debate in college?"

"I studied finance." Li Xiaoheng looked at Tao Mu with a gentle look in his eyes: "So I know that there is no stock in the world that remains unchanged. It will not rise forever, nor will it fall forever. The same is true for people."

"It's getting late. Your classmates are still waiting for you." Li Xiaoheng urged softly, "It's cold outside, go in."

Tao Mu looked at Li Xiaoheng helplessly: "Mr. Li studied finance. Then you should know that even if the two companies merge successfully, they may face various crises in the future. For example, operational crises, such as internal struggles within the management. Some conflicts cannot be solved by adjusting the structure or business strategy. In the end, it is very likely that both sides will suffer losses due to internal struggles in the company."

"Maybe." Li Xiaoheng smiled. "But the M&A projects I led have never encountered the situation you described. I think in the process of corporate mergers and acquisitions, if there is a failure in running-in, it must be because the work was not done well in advance. The interests and needs of both parties A and B were not communicated well. If the relationship between us is compared to a merger and acquisition, then my needs are you. So Xiao Mu, what are your needs and interests?"

Tao Mu: "My needs and interests are to operate independently."

Li Xiaoheng lowered his head and chuckled: "Xiao Mu, I'm very curious, the reason you said these, or the reason you insisted on running your own business, is it because you don't have confidence in me, or in yourself?"

Tao Mu said: "I have no confidence in time."

"Time?" Li Xiaoheng frowned slightly, then chuckled: "This is really a difficult problem."

Just as Tao Mu was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he heard Li Xiaoheng continue, "But I will find a way."

"The weather is too cold, you go in first. Your classmates may be waiting anxiously." Li Xiaoheng looked at his sweetheart two steps away. The night was cold and the orange street lights made his eyebrows and eyes look even more delicate and handsome. This reminded Li Xiaoheng of the first time he met Tao Mu.

If Tao Mu was just a stranger who met his aesthetic standards from hair to toes at that time. So now, Tao Mu is the person that Li Xiaoheng really wants to take home to spend the rest of his life with.

They still have a lifetime to spend together. So Li Xiaoheng was not in a hurry and didn't want to push Tao Mu too hard.

When Tao Mu returned to the box, Du Kang was holding a glass of wine and complaining: "...Wen Bao, did you do this on purpose? We clearly agreed during the rehearsal that we would do that kind of high-end dance steps, musicals. But you started dancing Yangko at full speed and led everyone astray. Did you do this on purpose? Deliberately make our classmates lose their image and unable to find a partner in the future?"

"What does it have to do with me?" Wen Bao smiled with his crescent eyes: "I am just acting seriously. You guys are willing to give preference, right?"

"What? You did it on purpose!" The female classmate who played Zhang Wu Ke waved the beer bottle in her hand at Wen Bao: "Do you know how long I practiced the last dance? I survived the hard rehearsal. But you led me astray during the performance report. You have to compensate me."

"Isn't this a compensation for eating mutton hotpot for you?" Wen Bao still had that smiling look on his face, pointing at Tao Mu and saying, "Don't feel wronged. Look, Mr. Tao, who has the heaviest idol burden in our class, didn't say anything. Right?"

"What can he say? In today's show, besides you, it was Ala Mumu who danced the most happily on the stage. You were happier when you danced the Yangko than when you danced hip-hop or tango before, okay?" Chu Suian was excited, and spoke with a hint of his hometown dialect: "Are you really going to get rid of your idol image?"

Tao Mu smiled very happily.

Du Kang said with emotion that Tao Mu was happiest when he was acting: "He has to thank me for this. If it weren't for my two scripts that let our brother Mu liberate his nature, he would still be shrinking in his idol baggage. How boring, isn't it?"

"Yes." Tao Mu clinked glasses with Du Kang. She smiled softly, her eyes were full of tenderness, and even her voice was full of laughter as she asked teasingly, "How do you want me to thank you?"

"Promise yourself to me!" Du Kang was also a man who didn't keep his mouth shut. As soon as these words were spoken, the whole class immediately clapped and cheered.

The drunk classmate stood up unconvinced: "Why should I pledge my love to you? I am still waiting to take care of our Mumu when I become famous. You are too tall to afford it! Go to the back and queue up!"

"Yohoo!" A bunch of classmates continued to clap and cheer: "The bride is being robbed!"

"Rob the bride! Rob the bride!"

The mutton hotpot meal took more than two hours. After dinner, a bunch of people were still ready to go sing KTV.

After the final performance of the drama, it was winter vacation. Students whose homes are in Yenching are better off, but those who live in other places must pack their luggage and go home for the New Year. This separation lasted another month and a half.

A group of boys and girls aged eighteen or nineteen travelled from cities all over the world to Beijing to attend university. It was the first time they left their parents and became closest to their classmates. Now we have to part all of a sudden, and I feel a little reluctant to leave.

However, these feelings will gradually dilute as they grow up and experience more and more separations and reunions. After graduation, they move around and work in various crews, and their minds will gradually be occupied by fame, fortune or other things. In the end, I became more and more numb after being immersed in the big dye vat of the entertainment industry. The former passion, righteousness, and ideals may gradually be forgotten on the road to success, and may gradually fade away under the pressure of life, leaving only the embarrassment of supporting a family.

A piece of white paper may be dyed into colorful and dazzling colors, or it may eventually turn completely black due to the complexity and variety of colors.

Tao Mu didn't know how long this process would take. But at this moment, he still cherishes these relatively pure and lovely friendships with classmates. If possible, he hopes to do his best to make life as easy as possible for these children.

After all, he didn't have many good memories to show off in his two lifetimes.

There are too many things in this world that will go bad. As a rich man, Tao Mu couldn't do much. He just hoped that he could protect the things he owned for as long as possible before they deteriorated.

Because after those things deteriorate, no matter how regretful and reluctant Tao Mu is, he must throw them away.

It's not a pleasant feeling. Even though Tao Mu had gotten used to this kind of choice in his past and present lives, he still felt uncomfortable when this regret appeared again.
