Chapter 485: Forbearance

Chapter 485: Forbearance

Yangyang looked at Li Tingxi, this time without the previous caution, and even showed a rare affection, "Thank you for your hard work today, Uncle Li."

Li Tingxi was flattered and in a good mood, he couldn't help but take another look at Su Youling. This look was not sharp at all, and could even be described as gentle.

Su Youling saw this and her eyelashes trembled.

Perhaps she really should try not to confront Li Tingxi head-on; maybe there will be a turning point regarding the children.

...

Compared to Su Youling's hesitation and indecisiveness, Rebecca was much more straightforward.

“I don’t believe Li Tingxi doesn’t know how important the child is to you,” she scoffed, putting her arm around Su Youling’s shoulder to support her. “So what if he is the child’s biological father? I support you unconditionally and we absolutely cannot let him take the child away.”

Su Youling sighed: "But the Strange Kingdom is your life's work."

"Honey, do you really think I'm an easy target?" Rebecca said nonchalantly, patting her shoulder. "If Li Tingxi continues to cause trouble, the old man said the Ferro family will not stand idly by. Just go ahead and do it. With the old man as your backer, what are you afraid of?"

Su Youling was inevitably moved.

Even as he was enjoying his retirement, Grandpa Yin still had to worry about the relationship between her and Li Tingxi.

She didn't want things to escalate to the point where both sides would suffer.

Judging from Li Tingxi's current attitude, perhaps if he spends more time with the children, he might calm down and change his mind.

Let's give him some time to adjust.

...

Li Tingxi is indeed seriously learning to be a qualified father.

Even though Su Hong clearly disliked him, he humbled himself and patiently inquired about the children's preferences and dietary restrictions from her.

The next day, the children ate the children's meals he had prepared with a nutritionist, and the dishes were...

The food was plentiful, with a good mix of meat and vegetables, and even Yangyang found it very appetizing. Li Tingxi even had the nutritionist prepare a separate meal for Su Youling, with everything she loved to eat.

Su Youling felt a lump in her throat again, but she forced herself not to show it in front of Li Tingxi.

Yueyue looked on expectantly: "Handsome uncle, would you please sit down and eat with us?"

Yangyang and Xingxing subconsciously looked at Su Youling.

Li Tingxi didn't look at Su Youling, but he naturally assumed that Su Youling would definitely not agree, so even though he really wanted to agree, he refused against his will: "No need, Uncle..."

Before he could finish speaking, Su Youling suddenly said, "Stay and eat with us. We can't possibly finish all this food, and it would be a waste."

Her thinking was simple: since she had already decided to let Li Tingxi interact with a few children, there was no need to shut him out in every way.

Li Tingxi was stunned for a moment by Su Youling's unexpected request to stay, and a complex emotion flashed in his deep eyes.

All three children visibly became happy.

Li Tingxi personally took care of the three children, worried that they might not have enough to eat or that the food wouldn't suit their tastes. "Is it delicious?"

Yueyue stuffed her mouth full, nodded vigorously, and responded with "Mmm" sounds.

Su Youling was both amused and exasperated, and flicked her nose, "There's nothing you don't like to eat. Neither of your two older brothers can eat as much as you, you little glutton."

Yueyue's eyes widened, and after swallowing her food, she wrinkled her little nose in dissatisfaction, looking at her with accusatory eyes: "Mommy, don't say that about Yueyue in front of the handsome uncle, Yueyue!"

"I'm not a little piggy, Grandma said I'm still growing!"

After the little girl finished speaking, she stole a glance at Li Tingxi, looking quite embarrassed.

Su Youling didn't expect her to care so much about her image in front of Li Tingxi, but it wasn't hard to understand, so she quickly begged for forgiveness: "It's Mom's fault. Yueyue should eat more to grow taller, that will make Mom happier than anyone else."

A barely perceptible smile played in Li Tingxi's eyes as he coaxed the little girl, "Yueyue is very cute like this. It won't matter if you eat a little more and gain a little weight."

Yueyue was completely appeased by the two of them, and proudly raised her little chin, with a hint of boasting: "Even my kindergarten teacher said Yueyue is the cutest!"

Li Tingxi nodded seriously: "Yueyue is so cute, no one can dislike her."

Yueyue blushed slightly from his praise and continued eating.

Li Tingxi didn't forget Yangyang and Xingxing either.

He kept a close eye on the two children as they picked up food, helping them from time to time. He would secretly remember who picked up the most of which dish and casually ask them what they wanted to eat for the next meal.

Because of his illness, Yangyang has some dietary restrictions and can only eat liquid food for a short period of time.

Li Tingxi also asked the nutritionist to prepare a soup that suited his taste and a porridge with some nutritious ingredients.

Su Youling watched him interact with the children silently. Even Yangyang, who rarely showed any extra emotions on his face, was unusually cheerful and talked a lot during the meal.

The children's transformation made her feel gratified, but she also began to think about what to do next.

Yangyang and Xingxing didn't hear Su Youling speak for a while. When they looked over, they noticed that she was lost in thought and exchanged a worried glance.

She picked up a shrimp and put it in Su Youling's bowl. "Mom, this shrimp is delicious. You should try it."

Su Youling snapped out of her reverie and realized that she had been so focused on eating her rice that she had probably caused the children to misunderstand.

She smiled, tasted the shrimp that Xingxing had put in her bowl, and nodded in amazement: "It really tastes great. I guess I'll have to learn from her and make it for you guys another day."

Yangyang and Xingxing were relieved and praised her cooking skills to the skies.

Seeing that Xingxing had put food on Su Youling's plate, Yueyue didn't want to be left behind and followed suit, piling food into Su Youling's bowl as well. "Mom, this is all Yueyue's love for you. You have to eat it all!"

Su Youling looked at the bowls that had instantly piled up into a small mountain and couldn't help but chuckle.

Li Tingxi suddenly blurted out, "You're too thin. It's right for you to eat more."

Although her tone was calm and even, Su Youling's heart trembled uncontrollably.

She pursed her lips and subconsciously looked up, only to see that Li Tingxi's gaze was fixed on the children, not on her at all.

She looked away and silently ate the food in her bowl, her seemingly calm surface concealing an emotional turmoil known only to herself.

To avoid disappointing Yueyue, she forced herself to finish the meal.

After finishing her meal and playing with the children for a while, Su Youling suddenly felt a churning in her stomach, the same unpleasant acid reflux she had experienced yesterday.

She involuntarily frowned, not wanting the children to notice anything amiss, and forced herself to endure the discomfort, using the excuse of going to the restroom to get up and leave the ward.

Li Tingxi did not miss her momentary unpleasant expression.

Watching Su Youling's hurried and thin figure, his heart involuntarily jumped. After hesitating, he still couldn't put his mind at ease and got up to go out and check the situation.
