Chapter 215 Heartache

Chapter 215 Heartache

"Why are you suddenly being so mushy?" Su Youling's cheeks flushed slightly, feeling a little uncomfortable. She tried to push him away, but he held her even tighter. "Su Su."

"What's wrong? Is... something happened?" Su Youling sensed something was wrong and frowned with concern.

"..." Li Tingxi didn't speak.

If Su Youling had been there today, Zhao Xinning would have hit her with her car...

Li Tingxi dared not think any further, and loosened his grip slightly so as not to arouse Su Youling's suspicion.

Su Youling caught a whiff of the hospital's disinfectant, her brow furrowed slightly, and she looked up at him, asking, "You just came from the hospital? Did something happen to you that you didn't answer my calls? Where are you hurt?"

As she spoke, she reached out and pulled at Li Tingxi's shirt.

Li Tingxi grabbed her wrist with a wry smile, reassuring her in a nonchalant tone, "I didn't answer your calls because I forgot my phone. As for why I went to the hospital, it's because the medicine you asked Qin He to buy for me ran out... I went to the hospital to get checked out! Nothing else is wrong, don't overthink it."

After he finished speaking, he raised his hand and shook the plastic bag in his hand.

He breathed a sigh of relief at his own cleverness. Luckily, he had thought of this on the spur of the moment and had Qin He buy a box of medicine; otherwise, it would have been difficult to keep up the lie.

When Su Youling saw the medicine box in the bag, her doubts were dispelled, but her worry deepened.

She slapped Li Tingxi's hand, which was holding hers, without any politeness, and said with a serious expression, "Let me see your wound."

Li Tingxi helplessly comforted her, "There's no need, you're almost fully recovered."

Su Youling persisted, determined to stand her ground until he let her see, "Didn't you want to apply medicine? What, can Qin He see it or not?"

Li Tingxi had no choice but to give in and let her lead him to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Turn your back and take off your clothes." Su Youling poked his shoulder, and seeing that he was hesitating, she simply took action.

The shirt had barely been halfway down when Su Youling was struck by the crisscrossing, blood-scabbed wounds on Li Tingxi's back, which were particularly glaring.

There were even traces of blood seeping from some places, clearly indicating that the wound had been torn open, but it was only because Li Tingxi was wearing a black shirt that it wasn't noticeable.

Su Youling gasped, suppressing the sting of her nose, and carefully took off her shirt completely.

The wounds were fully exposed, with several areas of skin and flesh torn up, demonstrating just how ruthless Li Fengmin had been.

With his back to her, Li Tingxi sighed softly, "It just looks serious, but it's almost healed."

"Are you trying to fool me?" Su Youling was both angry and heartbroken. Her eyes were red. She applied the ointment with a cotton swab, but for a moment she didn't even know where to start.

Li Tingxi seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, and chuckled, teasing, "You're applying medicine to me, not torturing me. I'm not afraid, so why are you? You're that worried about me?"

Even though she knew he couldn't see, Su Youling still glared at him, embarrassed and annoyed.

However, when applying the medicine, she subconsciously moved very gently, afraid of aggravating Li Tingxi's wound.

Li Tingxi felt as if feathers were scratching his back. He could bear the pain of the wound, but the fine, tingling itch gradually spread to his heart, making it very difficult for him to endure.

He couldn't help but smile bitterly. He finally breathed a sigh of relief when Su Youling finished applying the medicine.

But Su Youling

She even asked him very seriously, "I didn't hit him too hard, did I?"

Li Tingxi put on his shirt and turned around to see her still with a wrinkled face, clearly still worried about his injuries. His heart melted instantly.

He raised an eyebrow and waved to Su Youling.

Su Youling immediately sat down beside her with a worried look. "Is there any other injury that I didn't wipe?"

Without saying a word, Li Tingxi pressed her down onto the bed, then leaned over and kissed her on the lips. An intimate moment was about to erupt, and the air was filled with a pink atmosphere.

Su Youling was completely powerless to resist and was utterly subdued by his domineering offensive.

Li Tingxi poured all his longing from the past few days into this one kiss, until Su Youling, breathless, slapped his arm, and he reluctantly let go of her.

When she looked up, what came into view was Su Youling's flushed face and her messy black hair spread out on the bed. The watery light in her eyes seemed to have hooks, making her especially endearing.

Li Tingxi swallowed unconsciously, his eyes darkening further, and that unbearable itch he had felt earlier resurfaced.

When Su Youling saw the deep color in his eyes that seemed to swallow her whole, her face turned even redder and she struggled to get out of bed.

Li Tingxi narrowed his eyes, pressed down on her, turned his body to the side, and pulled her into his arms in a way that left no room for refusal. "Be good, let me hold you for a while. I promise I won't cross the line."

Su Youling was so close that she could clearly see the dark circles under his eyes. She knew he must have been exhausted these days, and feeling sorry for him, she let him hug her.

She poked Li Tingxi's chest, still a little worried, "I'm asking you a question. Did I hit you too hard just now?"

Li Tingxi responded softly, "Qin Heshou is much heavier than you. What you're doing is just tickling me."

Su Youling's focus shifted, and she complained in a low voice, "Qin He is so clumsy, no wonder his injury hasn't healed after so long."

Li Tingxi chuckled, cupped her face in his hands, and raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't we have a proper discussion now about why you returned to City A without saying a word?"

Su Youling pouted. "I only found out about your injury after Qin He told me. Of course I had to come back and check for myself how much you've been hiding from me."

Li Tingxi saw through her stubbornness but soft heart, his eyes softened, and he placed a light kiss on her forehead, saying, "It's good that you're back. I feel more at ease with you by my side."

Su Youling's face flushed slightly, and her eyes darted around unconsciously out of unease.

Li Tingxi turned her face to face and looked intently into her eyes. "But there are many eyes watching me outside right now, so you must not run around. No matter where you go, you must keep in touch with me at all times."

Su Youling could vaguely sense his unease and naturally assumed that her "disappearance" today had frightened him.

Before she could say anything more, Li Tingxi suddenly rested his chin on her shoulder, his deep voice revealing a hint of weariness, "Su Su, let me lean on you for a while."

Su Youling paused for a moment, unconsciously slowing her breathing.

Before long, his left shoulder slumped, and Li Tingxi's breathing became heavy and drawn out.

Su Youling called out softly, but received no response, knowing that he had already fallen asleep.

She carefully adjusted Li Tingxi's sleeping position to prevent him from pressing on his wound, and then stared blankly at his sleeping face, lost in thought for a moment.
