"Hey!" Wen Yan pointed at Shen Jinghe, "That's going too far. When have I ever treated you badly?"
As she spoke, Wen Yan pulled a small, square paper packet from her pants pocket.
"Look, even though it's wrapped in tissue paper, I still put a lot of thought into it. Look how well I wrapped it. It's just a pity I don't have a bow on hand, otherwise I could tie one for you."
Shen Jinghe smiled and said, "I think you were just too bored when you were speaking on stage."
"Get lost! You don't appreciate kindness."
"Seriously, could there be cockroaches inside?"
"..." Wen Yan was speechless. "Big brother, even if you guessed it contained boogers, it would be better than guessing it contained a cockroach. Even if you wanted a cockroach, the problem is, where am I supposed to get one for you right now?"
Shen Jinghe: →_→
"So, is it filled with a segment of orange that smells like booger?"
Wen Yan rolled her eyes: "That's enough, really. I specially saved this for you, so you can skip it."
As she spoke, Wen Yan was about to put the small paper packet back into her pants pocket.
Shen Jinghe grabbed her wrist.
What's left to me is mine, and you can't take it back.
Wen Yan was just putting on an act.
As a result, Shen Jinghe took the small paper package.
Upon opening it, I discovered that the orange was already broken.
When I turned it over, I saw that the white tissue had been stained with color.
Shen Jinghe's gaze immediately shifted to Wen Yan's trouser pocket.
"Your white pants are in trouble too."
"Huh?" Wen Yan finally realized, "No way, I was so careful not to crush the orange, and it still broke! But the orange juice should be washable, right?"
"It can probably be washed, but it just won't look good, especially since your clothes are white."
"Sigh!" Wen Yan sighed, "I made a mistake. I should have known better than to leave it for you."
[Waaaaah, it's all my fault. It's sour, I could have just eaten it quickly and that was it. Why did I have to make things worse for myself?]
Shen Jinghe: "…………" I knew this guy was up to no good, and sure enough.
But it was thoughtful of her; she even thought of saving a segment from an orange that was less than half the size of her palm.
He suddenly found the orange segment to be rather cute.
Without hesitation, he picked up the orange and put it in his mouth.
"Hey," Wen Yan tried to stop him, but it was too late, "Why would you eat it if it's already crushed?"
Feeling a little sour, Shen Jinghe subconsciously frowned.
However, he quickly raised his eyebrows at Wen Yan: "It's rare for you to be so good to me, how could I waste your kindness, don't you think?"
“…………” Wen Yan smiled.
Shen Jing and this guy made her feel a little embarrassed.
What a fine example of repaying evil with good.
Shen Jinghe continued, "Besides, there are no trash cans here. Even though my pants are black, I don't want to have a broken orange in my pocket."
As he spoke, he crumpled the orange-juice-stained tissue into a ball and stuffed it into his pocket.
"When we go up on stage for photos later, stand to my left and I'll block the view for you."
"It's okay," Wen Yan said nonchalantly. "It's just a group photo. With so many people standing together and the camera positioned far away, it's already a good thing if they can even get a 720p shot of faces. How could they possibly capture my pants? It's no big deal!"
"Alright then. Let's go up. Otherwise, the host will have to come down and ask us to go up."
"They invited you, and you were the center position they designated, yet you ended up in such a remote corner. What's wrong, have you developed a fear of being in the center position?"
"It's just a position; it doesn't matter where you stand."
As soon as Shen Jinghe finished speaking, the host came over to invite him.
However, they both timed it perfectly. By this time, all the pulling and yielding on stage had ended, and their positions were basically set.
Everyone stood close together, so even if someone was dissatisfied, it was difficult to make adjustments.
Wen Yan stood on the outermost edge, next to Shen Jinghe. It was neither crowded nor required social interaction, which was perfect.
However, just as they were about to take a picture, someone suddenly appeared next to Wen Yan.
"Hi, Ms. Yan, what are you doing standing here?"
"Gu Xiran?" Wen Yan was somewhat surprised to see him at this moment. "Why are you only getting on stage now?"
"I just got back because I went to the restroom earlier."
"I see."
"Did you just donate money in your personal capacity as well?"
"Yes, you know that too."
"Just a guess. Are we going straight back to the hotel after this?"
Gu Xiran started talking and initiated a conversation with Wen Yan.
Shen Jinghe, who was standing next to Wen Yan, glanced at Gu Xiran, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes.
This Gu Xiran is like a persistent leech; I just can't stand looking at him.
He immediately lowered his head and whispered in Wen Yan's ear, "We're filming. Look at the camera and stop talking."
Wen Yan said "Oh," and then gestured for Gu Xiran to look at the camera.
Gu Xiran glanced at Shen Jinghe out of the corner of her eye, then smiled slightly and shut her mouth.
Because I was standing at the edge of the stage, it was easier for me to get off.
Seeing that Gu Xiran was walking with Wen Yan, Shen Jinghe quickened his pace.
Gu Xiran continued the previous topic, inviting Wen Yan to ride in his car back to the hotel.
Upon hearing this, Shen Jinghe immediately extended an invitation to Wen Yan as well.
"I'm going that way anyway, I'll give you a ride home later."
Wen Yan knew what Shen Jinghe meant and didn't want him to waste his energy and attention on this trivial matter.
