Chapter 28 You Follow Me

"He likes sweets, especially when he was a child, but he eats them less now that he's grown up."

Upon hearing Su Yang's words, Shen Jingxiu unconsciously frowned slightly.

Wen Yan was a little smug; it seemed she had made the right choice by sending the little cake last night.

Then she asked, "Besides desserts, what other meats and vegetables does Second Brother like to eat?"

"Beef is Jinghe's favorite meat. He likes mushrooms, just like your third brother. He eats other vegetables in moderation, he's not picky at all, except for one thing—he doesn't like it."

"Scrambled eggs with tomatoes. (!)"

Su Yang and Wen Yan said the last sentence at the same time.

Su Yang was somewhat surprised: "Yan Yan, how did you know that?"

“My second brother told me,” Wen Yan said, turning around with a smile. “He told me when I went to his apartment a few days ago.”

After she finished speaking, she didn't forget to glance at Shen Zhirou.

In that eye contact, Wen Yan clearly sensed the hatred in Shen Zhirou's eyes.

Although he had acted rather manipulatively just now, it seemed that Shen Zhirou, that black-hearted lotus, was about to lose control.

Hmph, black lotus isn't any more noble than green tea.

Wen Yan pressed her advantage, saying, "I'll send another message to my second brother to ask him what kind of seafood he likes to eat."

As she spoke, Wen Yan took out her phone from her bag.

She was completely manipulative, even using a subtle hint when she spoke.

"Second brother, we're on our way to the supermarket to buy groceries. Do you want any seafood?"

Su Yang was startled by the sweet voice. However, she simply thought it was a sign of the good relationship between the siblings. Otherwise, Yan Yan wouldn't have been able to bring Jing He home as a surprise for her.

Su Yang never expected that Yan Yan's job interview would actually lead to her getting along well with the second brother.

Shen Zhirou clenched her fists secretly, finding Wen Yan utterly disgusting; she had never seen such a shameless person.

Wen Yan herself was fine, after all, playing different roles was her profession.

However, the deep wrinkles between Shen Jingxiu's brows gave her a sense of frustration and a strong feeling of sympathy for Shen Jingxiu himself.

[Hey bro, sorry to bother your ears. But actually, I was transcribing speech. You might have heard this kind of interjection today, but I won't send it out.]

Shen Jingxiu was very puzzled, so why didn't she just type it out? Who was she putting on such a show for?

Shen Jinghe quickly replied to Wen Yan.

His reply remained as brief as ever.

Just two words: 'Whatever'

Wen Yan smiled and turned around: "Mom, my second brother said we can decide what to do, he's fine with it."

"That's fine then."

Shen Jingxiu quickly drove the car into the parking lot of a large supermarket.

Today he's not only here to act as a driver, but also as a porter.

As soon as the group entered the supermarket, they immediately attracted a lot of attention, both overt and covert.

Because of their outstanding appearance, and also because of the noble air they exude in their clothing.

Just as they were about to head to the fresh meat section, a man speaking in a dialect suddenly walked towards them.

To be precise, he went to Shen Zhirou with great hesitation.

"Young lady, you look so familiar. Are you Mr. Zhao's daughter?"

Wen Yan was completely unfamiliar with this accent, but as soon as the man mentioned Boss Zhao, Wen Yan immediately thought of Shen Zhirou's adoptive mother, Zhao Qing, who also happened to share the same surname.

As for Shen Zhirou, her previously flawless expression immediately cracked slightly after this man appeared.

She quickly took two steps back, frowned, and said, "You must have mistaken me for someone else. I don't think I've ever seen you before, and my father's surname isn't Zhao."

That's true. Wen Yan remembers it very clearly; Shen Zhirou's adoptive father's surname was indeed not Zhao.

However, Wen Yan always felt that something was amiss.

If a normal person is stopped on the street by a stranger, they will either feel confused or scared.

But Shen Zhirou seemed to be disgusted, as if she wanted to avoid it at all costs and sever all ties.

After thinking for a moment, Wen Yan immediately found an excuse to separate from Shen Zhirou and the others.

After searching for a while, Wen Yan finally found the man.

She quickly jogged after him, saying, "Sir, sir, hello."

"Hello, you were looking for me?" Seeing that such a beautiful young woman as Wen Yan took the initiative to chat, the middle-aged man immediately smiled broadly.

"Yes, we just met. You said you saw Boss Zhao's daughter, right there at the butcher shop up ahead, don't you remember?"

"Oh, oh, I remember, I remember. It just happened. What do you need me for?"

"I do have something to do, but I don't have time to talk to you about it in detail today. How about this, we can add each other's contact information first, and I'll contact you when I have time later."

"Okay, then save my phone number." The man recited a string of numbers, adding, "My surname is Wang, the Wang with the water radical, my name is Wang."

Before he could finish speaking, a middle-aged woman came over carrying a child.

The middle-aged woman's tone was very unpleasant: "Who are you talking to? The child is looking for his grandfather everywhere. Come on, let's get the things."

"Alright, alright, we're leaving now. Come here, my precious grandson, let Grandpa hold you."

The man didn't speak to Wen Yan again, and left with the woman while holding the child.

But after taking a few steps, he suddenly turned around and made a sneaky gesture to Wen Yan as if he were making a phone call.
