Soon, Wen Yan and the others were led to the stairwell.
Wooden steps, no direct elevator.
The staff left after bringing the person here.
"Ms. Su, you can just go upstairs. It's the same old place."
"Okay." Su Yang nodded to the staff member. "Thank you for your hard work. We'll go up ourselves."
As soon as the staff left, Wen Yan went up and took Su Yang's arm.
"Mom, it seems you come here often."
"Yes, didn't I tell you? Bai Qin and I are very good friends. I often borrow clothes from her, and she often borrows jewelry from me."
Wen Yan nodded to show she understood, then turned and extended her hand to Qin Yulong: "Hold my hand."
Qin Yulong raised an eyebrow: "What are you doing? Are you afraid I'll trip and fall on the stairs?"
Wen Yan smiled and said, "I feel that the antique details of the buildings here are very well done. The steps are indeed a bit high."
That's true. Although she's no longer a child and doesn't need to hold hands, Qin Yulong still placed her hand in Wen Yan's palm.
Su Yang loves seeing her children being harmonious and loving; it makes her incredibly happy.
The three of them quickly reached the second floor.
The entire second floor is Bai Qin's studio, without reinforced concrete walls or glass partitions, offering a very open view.
The first thing that caught Wen Yan's eye was a graceful beauty sitting at a long table in the room, wearing a white, modern Chinese-style dress.
She looked to be about the same age as Su Yang, but her features were more striking, making her appear more assertive. When she saw that a guest had arrived, she showed no intention of getting up.
Wen Yan knew that this must be the "Master Bai Qin" that her mother had been talking about.
Su Yang didn't stand on ceremony with her good friend either.
"Well, you're something else, Lao Bai. I've come all this way and you haven't even gotten up to greet me. Is this how you treat your guests?"
Bai Qin then stood up and smiled at Su Yang: "This place is practically your second studio now, do I really need to greet you? Don't you come and go as you please? Do you need me to arrange a guard of honor for you, and put up a banner?"
Su Yang snorted: "Are you insulting me? You're not giving me any face at all. Be careful, or I'll beat you up."
"You? Beat me up? You're overestimating yourself."
"I'm overestimating myself. Do you want to give it a try?"
"…………"
Hearing Su Yang and Bai Qin's conversation, Wen Yan couldn't help but look at Qin Yulong beside her.
Their eyes met, and Wen Yan saw the same surprise in Qin Yulong's eyes as she did.
I never expected Su Yang to have this side to her; she's not like this at home at all.
However, this shows that she and Bai Qin have a really good relationship.
After the initial greetings, Su Yang formally introduced Wen Yan and Qin Yulong to Bai Qin.
"Old Bai, these are the two daughters I often mention to you. This is Yan Yan, and this is Yu Long."
Then Su Yang looked at the two of them and said, "Quickly call for help."
Wen Yan, always quick with a sweet tongue, said, "Hello, Master Bai, I am Wen Yan."
However, Su Yang corrected Wen Yan as soon as she spoke: "Why call her Master? That's too formal. Just call her Aunt Bai."
“Yes,” Bai Qin looked at Wen Yan and Qin Yulong, “Although this is the first time we’ve met, I’ve heard your names and stories so many times I’m tired of them. Since you’re Old Su’s daughters, there’s no need to be so formal.”
Wen Yan immediately changed her address: "Hello, Aunt Bai. We don't know your preferences since this is our first meeting, but my mother told us that you like to drink tea, so Yu Long and I brought you a few boxes of tea. We hope you like them."
As Wen Yan spoke, she gestured for Qin Yulong to hand the gift box to Bai Qin.
Qin Yulong politely addressed her as "Aunt Bai" and then presented the gift box with both hands.
Bai Qin answered the call, but Qin Yulong's expression was ambiguous, a half-smile on her face.
"What's wrong? Are you unhappy? You're all sullen. Is it because I yelled at you on the phone?"
“No,” Qin Yulong replied calmly, “I have a straight face because I’m not naturally inclined to smile.”
Bai Qin chuckled: "Do you think I believe you? Are you thinking that I knew all along that you were my good friend's daughters, but I still didn't give you any face and gave you a good scolding on the phone?"
Qin Yulong didn't expect Bai Qin to bring this up in front of everyone.
She frowned slightly: "I really didn't expect that you already knew about us, but I'm not unhappy now, I was just a little angry at the time. At the same time, I understand your position. I made an unreasonable request, and it's my own fault that you got angry and scolded me."
Bai Qin chuckled and nodded: "You're quite frank, both when you made that audacious request and now. You have personality, and I quite like that about you."
"…………" Qin Yulong frowned slightly. Her personality was something that belonged only to her and she didn't need anyone else's approval.
Bai Qin didn't dwell on this point: "Let's go sit over there and chat, and try my new tea."
Bai Qin led the way, bringing Wen Yan and the other two to her tea room area.
"It smells so good," Su Yang exclaimed as soon as she entered the tea room. "What good tea have you managed to get your hands on this time?"
Bai Qin chuckled: "Try it. If you like it, take some back with you later."
"OK."
"Let your two daughters sit by themselves, they don't need to be so reserved."
“Yes,” Su Yang looked at Wen Yan and Qin Yulong, “You don’t need to be so reserved. Your Aunt Bai is actually very easy to get along with.”
Wen Yan smiled, and she and Qin Yulong both chose to keep quiet.
