Is Chapter 205 a coincidence?

Wen Yan and Shen Jingchuan had completely different attitudes. The patrolmen knew that Shen Jingchuan was not easy to get along with, so they naturally wouldn't try to be friendly to him.

He chose to move closer to Wen Yan to talk.

"What's your relationship with him? He seems to listen to you quite a bit."

Wen Yan: "...Uncle, that question is a bit too much. I don't know how to answer you, so I won't."

The patrolman clicked his tongue: "Isn't that the same as saying nothing at all?"

"…………" Shen Jingchuan rolled his eyes at the patrolman, his temper flaring up instantly.

He stepped forward, blocking the patrolman and Wen Yan: "I already said you crossed the line, why are you still asking? Don't you have any sense of boundaries? Are we that close?... Let's go, ignore him."

Shen Jingchuan pulled Wen Yan forward, while the patrolman stared at the wound on Wen Yan's lower back.

The police officer walking behind also felt that the patrolman had no sense of propriety, so he reached out and patted him on the shoulder.

"What are you looking at? Let's hurry up and leave. The sooner it's over, the sooner you can go back and rest."

"Yes!" The patrolman immediately nodded. "Alright, alright, let's keep going."

The group was led into a place that resembled a conference room.

During the police questioning, Wen Yan learned the names of the patrolman and the disfigured man.

It turns out that what the patrolman said in his little tin shack was true.

It's quite a coincidence that he also has the surname Wen, and his name is Wen Chengcai.

As for the disfigured man, it's more of a code name than a name.

He said everyone calls him Third Brother.

They didn't even reveal their surname.

What's even stranger is that the police didn't pursue the matter further after hearing this form of address.

In Wen Yan's memory, even if the police saw that the person sitting opposite her was a man, they would still seriously ask about his gender and require him to answer seriously as well.

But thinking about it carefully, that seems to be the procedure during interrogation; now it's just a questioning at most.

After explaining the cause and course of events and the suspects, the police asked the four men to identify the two criminals they had arrested.

The first person to go in was Wen Yan, followed by Shen Jingchuan.

While waiting for Shen Jingchuan outside, Wen Yan saw that the third brother was shaking hands with a policeman in a police uniform with gray hair. They seemed to be old acquaintances.

Although Wen Yan didn't recognize the policeman, she recognized the epaulets on his uniform; he must be some kind of station chief or bureau chief.

He seemed quite polite to that third brother; could the third brother be someone special?

However, Wen Yan didn't intend to delve any deeper; the identity and background of that third brother were none of her concern.

A short while later, Shen Jingchuan came out, and Wen Yan said a few words to him.

When she finished speaking and looked back in that direction, she found that her third brother and the police were gone.

"What's wrong? What are you looking at?" Shen Jingchuan asked Wen Yan.

"It's nothing." Wen Yan shook her head. "After all this commotion, I'm suddenly really hungry. How about you? Are you hungry?"

"I'm fine. I'll take you out for something delicious later."

"Are there any shops open 24 hours a day in this cold weather?"

"Then let's go home and eat. I'll cook for you myself and show off my skills."

"So what are your skills? Can I order food?"

"Can't!"

"Why?"

"Because, I only know how to cook one dish."

"..." Wen Yan frowned. "Could it be that you're cooking instant noodles?"

"Okay, two dishes, plus fried rice with egg."

"OK, I believe there are still food stalls open at this time."

As the two were walking out, Wen Yan suddenly saw a familiar face.

She waved to the other person.

"Thank goodness, darling, I'm here!"

"Ah! Yan Yan!! Waaaaah, I'm so glad to finally see you." The moment He Xing saw Wen Yan, she rushed over.

She hugged Wen Yan tightly: "Are you alright? Waaah, I'm so glad you're back safe and sound. I was so scared. It's all my fault, I should have stayed by your side the whole time, waaah."

"Alright, alright," Wen Yan quickly comforted He Xing, "This has nothing to do with you. You did nothing wrong. Don't blame yourself. Look at me, I'm perfectly fine now."

Thank goodness you're alright!

"That's right!" After all, she was someone who could be reborn from death in a book, so her luck level must be off the charts.

"Look at you, your eyes are all swollen from crying, and you even have a bump on your head?"

"Waaah, when I got my phone and went back to find you, they had drugged me too. When I woke up, I found a big bump on my head."

"Damn it! But don't worry, the police have already caught their accomplices, none of these people will get away."

"Waaaaah, Yan Yan, you're so kind of me. You're still comforting me at a time like this. Oh, right, the director came with me too, and so did Teacher Shen."

"Teacher Shen?" Wen Yan looked over He Xing's shoulder and saw that Shen Jinghe and the director were walking quickly toward her.

Shen Jingchuan also saw Shen Jinghe.

He raised an eyebrow: "Why are you here too?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing: how did your clothes get so dirty? When did you arrive?"

"That's a long story, and coincidentally, I was also one of the victims."

In front of the director and He Xing, Shen Jinghe did not ask any further questions.

He looked at Wen Yan and breathed a sigh of relief: "Are you really alright?"

"It's okay! I'm fine, after all, I've always had a friend with me."
