"real?"
Zhao Chenhai asked happily.
"Really, although you are younger than your fourth uncle, you are outstanding in many ways. If you work hard, you might be able to surpass your fourth uncle in this second stage."
"Your explosiveness and endurance are both good. You only lost because of your age and height. If you were about the same age as your fourth uncle, you might not have lost."
Lin Yuxin nodded in praise, saying that Zhao Chenhai was right. She had just realized that he was a rare talent, and with proper training, he might become a new war god.
"Okay, I will definitely try my best."
Zhao Chenhai clenched his fist and said excitedly.
"Alright, the next one is Fifth Cousin. You can continue training using the current method. You don't need the medicinal bath anymore. I'll prescribe some new dietary supplements for you. You're too young, so focus on dietary supplements first. Practice more regularly, and you'll be able to train better in a few years."
Lin Yuxin said gently to Zhao Chenfeng.
Five-year-old Zhao Chenfeng didn't understand what Yuxin's words meant, but he knew that Yuxin was doing it for his own good and that he would listen to her.
"Okay! I'll listen to Sister Yuxin."
"Okay, good girl!"
Lin Yuxin reached out and rubbed his head as she spoke.
Afterwards, Lin Yuxin wrote out the new prescription and gave it to her fourth uncle. Then she went back to her eldest cousin's courtyard, where she was going to take a look at his leg injury.
The maternal grandfather did not go with him, but instead had his fourth uncle follow along to see if there was anything he could help with.
My eldest cousin's house was in my aunt's yard. Because the Zhao family was a large family and had not divided the property, my eldest cousin did not have his own yard even after he came of age.
When they entered, they saw their aunt embroidering in the courtyard. Her serene face carried a hint of sadness, yet she still possessed the air of a lady from a prominent family.
When the eldest cousin saw his mother, he paused, endured the pain in his leg, and walked towards his aunt with an unchanged expression.
"Mother!"
"Auntie!"
"Sister-in-law."
Lin Yuxin and Zhao Yinglan also stepped forward and greeted them respectfully.
"Why are you all here? Come, come and sit down!"
When Shi Hui saw her eldest son bring her uncle and Yu Xin over, she put down her needlework and smiled gently, inviting them to sit down.
"Auntie, are you busy?"
Lin Yuxin sat down obediently, while Zhao Yinglan did not sit down but stood aside and waited.
"Nothing much, just embroidering some patterns in my spare time. Is there something you need from Xi'er?"
Shi Hui looked at Lin Yuxin with gentle eyes.
She guessed that Lin Yuxin must have come with her eldest son for some reason.
Lin Yuxin didn't speak. She looked at her older cousin, unsure if he wanted her aunt to know, so she waited for him to speak.
Following Lin Yuxin's gaze, Shi Hui turned to look at her son, her eyes filled with increasing confusion.
Zhao Chenxi pursed his lips, clenched and unclenched his hands at his sides as if he had made a great decision. Just as he was about to speak, he heard Lin Yuxin's voice.
"Aunt, it's nothing, it's just that my older cousin didn't do well in today's training test, and he wanted me to come over to check him out."
Seeing her cousin's state, Lin Yuxin felt a little sorry for him and spoke up to help him out.
Everyone has secrets they don't want to reveal, and she understands that.
"I see! Alright then, you all go inside, I'll have Lan'er go in and serve you."
Shi Hui nodded and didn't ask any further questions. Instead, she arranged a room and had a maid serve her to prevent gossip.
She could tell that her son had something to say but didn't say it. Her heart sank a little. She knew that she had neglected her son all these years.
"Alright, let's go, big cousin!"
Lin Yuxin has been delayed for too long today, she needs to come now, otherwise she won't be home until dark.
"Um!"
Zhao Chenxi was very nervous, perhaps because her mother was there and she had a secret. She nodded in response and strode into the inner room.
Lin Yuxin bowed to Shi Hui and followed her cousin inside. Zhao Yinglan followed her in and found a seat.
After Zhao Chenxi sat down, Lin Yuxin squatted down, raised her hand and pressed on Zhao Chenxi's legs a few times to inquire about the situation.
Then he took out silver needles and inserted them into his leg several times, before speaking:
"It's not a big problem. You just have a muscle contusion. Normally, a few acupuncture needles and some medicine would be enough to make it go away. But you missed the best time and let it drag on for so many years. Now this injury is an old muscle injury."
"You don't need to train for the next three months. I'll give you a few acupuncture treatments in the next couple of days, and then you can apply the plaster I made for a while. You should get better. During this time, you can't do any strenuous exercise, or you'll be walking with a limp in the future!"
Lin Yuxin said earnestly.
"Okay, I've got it. Thank you for your help, Yuxin."
After listening, Zhao Chenxi remembered the expression on his face and thanked Lin Yuxin solemnly.
"Big cousin, thanking me like that is a bit too formal!"
Lin Yuxin glared at him with a serious expression. She had been busy all day, and he was still being so distant. She was going to be hurt!
"Hehe! Okay, it was my fault for saying that! I won't do it again. If Yuxin ever needs anything, just ask me, and I'll definitely help."
Zhao Chenxi found Lin Yuxin's serious expression adorable and realized he had said something wrong, so he quickly apologized.
"That's more like it!"
Lin Yuxin nodded in satisfaction, then wrote down a prescription for him, and stood up to say:
