That day, he dared not mention his leg injury again. He endured the pain, kept vigil with his mother, broke a basin for his father, and sent his father to his burial.
After everything was over, he forgot about his leg injury, because his mother never cried again after that. She was gentle and kind every day. But when he and his brother got into trouble, she never got angry again. She just said "I know" in a calm voice.
