“Father, it is perfectly reasonable for you to sit in the main hall if you wish, but you should at least change into something more formal. Today is my elder brother’s wedding banquet, and there are so many dignitaries present. If you want to sit in the main hall, wouldn’t it be too shabby for you to be dressed like this?”
Lin Yuxin walked up to Lin Xiong'an, smiling gently, like a caring daughter, and said to him.
Upon hearing this, Lin Xiong'an looked down at his clothes and realized that they were indeed too simple. He was only wearing a coarse cotton garment with some patterns on it.
Although this garment wasn't made of the worst fabric, it was still hardly presentable in front of these high-ranking officials and dignitaries.
He looked up at Lin Yuxin, and asked cautiously and tentatively:
"Oh! I forgot when I left! But since I'm already here, I won't go back to change; it's too much time!"
Trying to get him to go back this way? He won't fall for that!
“Father, you’re being too polite. How could I possibly make you come all this way again? We are all your children. You’ve lived in this house before. If you hadn’t insisted on separating from Mother because of Wang Siqin, and then divorced her, how could you have been away from home for so long?”
“Although we are all angry that you abandoned me and my brother, you are still our father. Sometimes we miss you very much, so we keep a few of your clothes as if you are still at home and have never left.”
As Lin Yuxin spoke, she pretended to take out a handkerchief and wipe her eyes, looking aggrieved after being abandoned and hurt by her father.
