"I can't sleep. Can I watch you sleep?"
Lin Yuxin patiently coaxed him, then helped him walk towards the side room in the backyard.
"No! I want you to sleep with me!"
Li Xiaochen raised his hand and hugged Lin Yuxin's waist tightly.
Lin Yuxin coaxed him the whole way and let him carry her. When they finally arrived at the room, Lin Yuxin put him directly on the bed without any hesitation. Li Xiaochen didn't let go of her, and Lin Yuxin couldn't pull him out.
Li Xiaochen kept shouting:
"Sleep with me, sleep with me!"
Lin Yuxin's patience ran out. She crouched down, leaned close to Li Xiaochen's ear, and whispered:
"Okay! I'll sleep with you! Close your eyes first, I'll take off my clothes and come right away!"
Upon hearing that she was taking off her clothes, Li Xiaochen immediately let go of her hand and stared at her with wide eyes. As soon as Lin Yuxin's hand was free, she flipped her right hand and a silver needle appeared in her hand.
Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Yuxin swiftly and accurately pierced Li Xiaochen's pressure point. Li Xiaochen stared wide-eyed at Lin Yuxin in disbelief, then slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Lin Yuxin then withdrew her hand, kissed Li Xiaochen's cheek, and said:
"Honey, you go to sleep by yourself, I won't stay with you!"
Then he got up and left the room with a flourish.
Half an hour later, Li Xiaochen opened his eyes, looked at the empty bed and the porridge on the table, and smiled:
"That brat is really ruthless!"
Although he felt a little dizzy, he wasn't really drunk. He had indeed wanted Xin Xin to stay with him this morning, but the girl wouldn't cooperate.
After getting up, Li Xiaochen drank the bowl of porridge and left the Lin residence without lingering.
There was still no movement in the bridal chamber. The maid was already standing guard at the door, waiting for her master to get up.
Lin Chenglie came home too late last night, and was quite drunk. He and Ji Qingxue didn't make love for long before going to bed. There was a morning greeting ceremony, and Ji Qingxue, being a new bride, shouldn't sleep in.
So Ji Qingxue was the first to wake up. She opened her eyes and it took her a moment to realize that she was already married.
She looked up at the man holding her, her face flushing slightly as she thought about their intimacy the night before. She felt incredibly happy; how could marrying the love of her life not be a blissful thing?
However, her joy lasted only a moment before she remembered her business. So, despite the pain, she softly called out to Lin Chenglie:
"Husband, it's time to get up. We still need to pay our respects to Mother in a little while!"
Lin Chenglie immediately opened his eyes, his sharp gaze sweeping around. After all, he was a soldier, so he was quite vigilant.
His gaze really startled Ji Qingxue. It wasn't until Lin Chenglie saw Ji Qingxue clearly that he realized he was married to Ji Qingxue.
So he relaxed his expression, pulled the sitting Ji Qingxue into his arms, and gently comforted her, saying:
"It's alright, you can sleep a little longer. Mother won't say anything. You were tired last night, so lie down for a while longer!"
Ji Qingxue was so frightened by Lin Chenglie's action that she dared not move, nestled in his arms, her face flushed. After a while, realizing that her husband made no further moves, she finally mustered the courage to speak:
"It's getting late. Today is my first day in the family, and I can't leave a bad impression on my mother. Get up!"
Lin Chenglie closed his eyes and thought about it for a moment, then agreed.
"Okay, get up! If you're still tired when we get back, you can sleep a little longer!"
As Lin Chenglie spoke, he sat up, and Ji Qingxue followed suit. She then hastily put on her undergarments and began to help Lin Chenglie dress.
"No! We don't have that many formalities in our family. I can do this myself. Just have your maid come in and help you wash up!"
Lin Chenglie grabbed her hand, preventing her from moving, and spoke earnestly.
Lin Chenglie didn't care about the men's pride; his wife was someone to be cherished, and he couldn't bear to let her do such rough work.
Ji Qingxue hesitated for a moment, but knowing that her husband loved her, she nodded in agreement. She was secretly delighted and then called Guixiang and Chunfen to help her wash up.

After leaving the room, Lin Yuxin went directly to Zhao Hanya's place for breakfast. She also brought a bowl of porridge to Li Xiaochen's place, which he would drink when he woke up. Then she chatted with Zhao Hanya while waiting for her older brother and the bride to come and serve tea.
Those drunkards who had been in the outer hall during this time, such as Zhao's cousins, as well as his second and third brothers, none of them escaped. They woke up one after another, paid their respects to Zhao Hanyue, and were then respectfully escorted out of the mansion by the servants of the Lin family.

Zhao Hanyue sat at the head of the table, Lin Yuxin sat in the first seat on the left, and Lin Shaoyang and Lin Shixiao casually found a seat and watched Lin Chenglie lead Ji Qingxue in step by step.
The affection that inadvertently showed on their faces could no longer be hidden.
The two were very respectful to each other until yesterday, but after one night they were inseparable!
