Chapter 371 Burning Grain and Straw

Two hours later, everyone in the Qi army camp who was supposed to rest had rested, and even Zhou Pu, due to his injuries, couldn't take it anymore and fell into a deep sleep.

At that moment, the patrol team smelled a burning odor.

The lead patrolman's expression changed, and he quickly led his team towards the fire.

When they got closer, they saw that their supply shed was on fire, and the leading soldier was immediately horrified:

"Quick! Put out the fire!!"

The patrol team immediately began extinguishing the fire, searching for water, and calling for help.

Soon, the nearby soldiers got up and started putting out the fire.

However, the fire was too big, and almost the entire shed was on fire. They extinguished one fire, but another one started burning, and the fire was getting bigger and bigger. No matter how many people they had, they couldn't put out such a big fire!

They could only watch helplessly as the fire burned down their grain sheds.

Upon hearing the commotion, the captain rushed over and witnessed this scene. His heart sank instantly. It's all over!

The captain turned around in a panic and ran towards Zhoupu's tent.

"General! General!! Something terrible has happened!"

Zhou Pu had only just fallen asleep and was still running a fever due to his injuries. When he heard his subordinates calling from outside the tent, he frowned, his expression showing great displeasure.

"What are you shouting for? Come in!"

"General, something terrible has happened! Our supplies have been burned, all gone!!"

The captain, disregarding the angry general, looked at Zhou Pu with a worried expression and said...

"What did you say?"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Pu was stunned for a moment, thinking he had misheard. He suddenly straightened up and asked again with a ferocious expression.

"Our army's supply shed just caught fire, and our supplies were burned!"

So the captain repeated it again!

"How could it have burned down? What were the guards doing? What's the situation with the fire? How much is left?"

Zhou Pu understood now, and his already pale face became even more bloodless. He asked anxiously.

"Reporting to the general, it's all burned; not a single cartload is left!"

The captain was also heartbroken. So much grain, enough to feed 300,000 people for a month, was gone now. Even the fodder for the horses was burned!

"Ah!! Investigate! Find out who started the fire!!"

Upon hearing that everything was gone, Zhou Pu was instantly enraged and roared at the captain, "I don't believe the grain was gone by accident; it must have been done by someone."

"yes!!"

The captain accepted the order and then withdrew.

Zhou Pu was left sitting on the bed, panting heavily and feeling uneasy. Suddenly, Zhou Pu's face contorted with rage, and he clutched his chest with one hand.

"puff!"

Zhou Pu was unable to hold back his anger, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. He closed his eyes and collapsed onto the bed.

"General!!"

Hearing the commotion, the soldiers at the door rushed in to check, only to find their general lying on the bed covered in blood.

His expression changed, and he quickly stepped forward to check the general's breath. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, the general was still breathing.

He would rush out to find a military doctor at any moment.

You can tell how unlucky the Qi general was by how many times he had to call the army doctor!

Zhao Yingfeng and the others, who were hiding in the trees not far away, were in a very good mood as they watched the lively scene in the Qi army camp.

"Hehe, the general is indeed clever. Let's burn their grain supplies and see how arrogant they can be then!"

Biaozi was pleased to see the Qi army in disarray.

"Alright, that's all for today. Let's go back now."

Seeing that the matter was settled, Zhao Yingfeng planned to go back and rest. He was quite tired after a busy day.

So the group headed towards Baiqiu Mountain, but unexpectedly, the Zhao state had set up camp at the foot of Baiqiu Mountain, and they could not return.

"General, what do we do? We can't get back!"

Biaozi saw the firelight below the mountain and asked in a worried whisper.

"It's alright, let's take a detour to the back mountain! We'll go up from the back mountain, but we have to give them a big gift before we leave."

Zhao Yingfeng glanced at the Zhao Kingdom's camp and smiled as he spoke to Biaozi and the others.

Zhao Yingfeng pulled out two more black balls from his pocket, gave one to Biaozi, and instructed him:

"You saw how to use it just now. Put it where there are fewer people, light it, and then run away."

Xin Xin gave him ten in total, so he has to use them sparingly.

"Yes, General! I guarantee I will complete the mission!"

Biaozi's eyes lit up. He actually had the chance to touch this treasure and even use it! He was so happy!

What puzzled him was why it was placed in a sparsely populated area. Shouldn't it be placed in a populated area to kill as many people as possible?

However, Biaozi only thought that he would just follow orders whatever tasks the general assigned.

So Biaozi accepted the order and, amidst envious glances, whistled and headed towards the Zhao army camp.

"You all go to the back mountain and wait for this general!"

After Zhao Yingfeng finished speaking, he took the explosive pack in his hand and walked to the other side.

The few dozen elite soldiers who remained shrugged in disappointment. They were just there to make up the numbers, but they could only complain in their hearts and dared not say it out loud.

Then the group of people obediently went around to the back of the mountain and waited there.

Meanwhile, two loud explosions were heard from the Zhao army camp shortly afterward.

"Bang! Bang!"

"ah!!"

"Help!!"

The screams of the soldiers filled the Zhao army camp. The Zhao army camp's kitchen and food supplies had been blown up.

Those cooking and on duty inside were all killed in the explosion.

The entire tent was blown to smithereens, and the food supplies were reduced to fragments; nothing was left behind.
