Zhao Hanyue wasn't exaggerating. Lin Xiong'an was just a low-ranking official of the sixth rank who had just arrived in the capital to report on his duties. He had no connections in the capital and was not very capable. He was only transferred to the capital by chance and achieved some political achievements.
He then resorted to underhanded tactics to marry her, gaining the support of the General's Mansion. Step by step, he has come to where he is today. It would be easy for him to drive out the Lin family.
Lin Xiong'an was furious, but there was nothing he could do. He knew his family's situation, and Zhao Hanya had all his leverage over him. If he resisted, he didn't know what this woman would do.
He finally climbed to his current position, and he can't afford to gamble. Once he becomes the crown prince and achieves merit in supporting the emperor, I will make you all pay the price.
Lin Xiong'an suppressed the hatred in his heart, so he picked up his pen again and wrote another one.
Zhao Hanyue picked it up, looked it over, and found no problems this time. After she signed it herself, the divorce agreement was finalized.
Zhao Hanyue folded the divorce papers, put them in her bosom, looked at Lin Xiong'an standing to the side, and raised an eyebrow, saying:
"Lord Lin, aren't you leaving? You and I are no longer related now. It's probably not appropriate for a man and a woman to be alone in a room together!"
"Zhao Hanya!!"
Lin Xiong'an roared through gritted teeth.
"Don't shout, I can hear you! Oh! By the way, you, your woman, and your daughter all have to move out today, or don't blame me for throwing you out. You'll be the one losing face, Lord Lin!"
Zhao Hanyue didn't take his anger seriously at all, and simply sat down on the chair next to her, looking at him calmly.
"Zhao Hanyya, don't push things too far. Lie'er and the other two are still my sons. If anything happens to me, they won't have an easy time either!"
Lin Xiong'an looked at Zhao Hanya and said with a gloomy expression.
"That's none of your concern, Lord Lin. Now that the children are with me, they have nothing to do with you anymore. You should worry about your illegitimate son! I heard he's mired in gambling debts. I wonder if you, Lord Lin, have the means to clean up his mess?"
Zhao Hanyue felt much more relaxed after signing the divorce papers. Now, she looked at Lin Xiong'an as if he were a stranger, and didn't care what he said.
"It was you? You set this trap?"
Lin Xiong'an then realized what was happening and said that Qi'er had never gambled before, so how could she suddenly have such a strong gambling addiction? It was impossible without someone guiding her.
He then came to his senses, looked at Zhao Hanyue in disbelief, and questioned her.
"I only had someone lead him to the gambling den; the rest is none of my business."
Zhao Hanyue said innocently.
"You vile woman!"
Enraged, Lin Xiong'an grabbed a teacup from the table and smashed it at Zhao Hanya.
Zhao Hanyue's brows furrowed, and she slightly shifted her body to dodge the cup that was thrown at her.
"Smack!"
The cup fell to the ground with a thud.
Lin Yuxin's heart skipped a beat. Her mother! She forgot all about eating melons and rushed inside.
"Mother, are you alright?"
Lin Yuxin came to Zhao Hanyue's side and asked worriedly.
[It's all her fault. If only she hadn't been watching the show outside, she almost got Mom beaten up by that scumbag.]
Lin Yuxin was filled with remorse. She glared angrily at Lin Xiong'an and said coldly:
"Lord Lin, what a show of power you're putting on! You're already divorced, yet you're still acting like the head of the household. Aren't you afraid of hurting your back?"
"You beast, who are you talking to? I'm still your father, you unfilial daughter!"
Lin Xiong'an felt that he and his daughter were incompatible. Since she came back, things had been going wrong at home, his wife wanted a divorce, and he was constantly running into obstacles in the court.
If I had known this would happen, I should have strangled her back then!
Lin Xiong'an looked at Lin Yuxin with a murderous glint in his eyes.
Lin Yuxin saw it and was so angry that she raised her hand to hit her scumbag father, but Zhao Hanyya stopped her.
Without saying a word, Zhao Hanyue stepped forward and slapped him across the face.
"Smack!"
"Lin Xiong'an, you are here today to move out of this mansion, or you will lose everything! Get out!"
Zhao Hanyue looked at Lin Xiong'an and immediately started to shoo him away.
"Zhao Hanyya, you'll regret this!"
Lin Xiong'an covered his slapped face, looked at the two men, and was filled with hatred. He couldn't beat them in a fight, and he couldn't win an argument either. In the end, he could only make a verbal threat and then turn around and leave.
"Mother, are you alright?"
Seeing that Lin Xiong'an had left, Lin Yuxin walked up to Zhao Hanyya, took her arm, and asked with concern.
"It's alright. How could someone as weak as him possibly hurt me? Don't worry, your mother went to the battlefield with your maternal grandfather when she was young, and she's quite skilled in martial arts."
Zhao Hanyue composed herself and comforted Lin Yuxin.
She feels more relaxed than ever before and is full of anticipation for the future.
"Hehe, Mom is amazing!"
Seeing that Zhao Hanyya was really alright, Lin Yuxin was relieved and quickly praised her.
"Really? I think so too. But I think you're pretty impressive too. Tell me, what exactly did you do last night? A girl like you went out without even leaving a message for her mother. Don't you know your mother would worry about you? Also, if I hadn't made up an excuse for you, what would have happened to your reputation if word got out that you didn't come home all night?"
Zhao Hanyue changed the subject, raised her hand and started pinching Lin Yuxin's ear, questioning her.
"It hurts, it hurts, Mother, I was wrong, I was wrong, I won't do it again next time."
Lin Yuxin was suddenly grabbed by the ear, crying out in pain. Unable to resist, she could only beg for mercy.
Waaah! I should have just stayed away for a few days. I thought my mother wouldn't pursue the matter anymore.
