Chapter 82 Seeing the Reality Again 2

The bespectacled man said nothing more and turned to leave.

The first person, after the bespectacled man disappeared from sight, angrily smashed the wall beside him with a punch. He must have been a very strong human ability user. As the wall shattered, a cold aura emanated from him, and snowflakes began to fall in the air.

Beautiful ice flowers began to form beneath his feet, and tiny icicles sprouted from them like bamboo shoots breaking through the soil. In an instant, the icicles solidified into ice pillars as thick as a wrist. In just a few seconds, the figure was surrounded by a forest of ice.

But all of this was just a way for that person to vent their anger and unleash their supernatural abilities. Soon, the ice shattered into pieces and melted into a pool of water.

He seemed to sigh deeply, his hand, cut by the broken wall, covered his cheek, and he remained motionless with his head down for a long time.

Finally, he let go and left with an indifferent expression.

Meanwhile, Luo Shui, who was secretly watching from the side, was utterly astonished. Because of the reflection in the water, he could vaguely make out the face of the human superhuman... who looked remarkably like him.

In fact, if it weren't for the fact that he was a beastman and that person was clearly a human, he would almost have thought that it was him.

His heart was pounding so hard he could hardly breathe. An indescribable sadness and resentment welled up inside him. He knew these weren't his own emotions... but were they really not?

Then, unable to bear the emotions, he fainted. When he woke up again, he was lying on the cold floor of the factory. The scene around him was completely different from what he had seen before. It was the corner of the factory interior that was behind the invisible wall.

He propped himself up, and something slid from his chest to the ground. He glanced at it and saw it was the glowing little flower.

It's no longer glowing, and the petals are somewhat withered, indicating that it has been picked some time ago.

He recalled that Mingyuan had said after picking the small flower that it could cause nightmares, possibly due to some kind of hallucinogenic effect or psychoactive influence.

However, this was just a way to temporarily calm himself down. In fact, Luo Shui vaguely felt that the scene he saw was something that had happened in reality, and for some reason, he felt a very strong sense of familiarity with the scene.

What bothered him even more was that the person... that human ice-type ability user, why did he look exactly like him?

Luo Shui had no injuries, but felt inexplicably tired. He stood up with the small flower in his hand, just as Ye Nianzhen and Mingyuan, who had just noticed the invisible wall had disappeared, came looking for him.

"How are you? Luo Shui, did you encounter any danger?"

Ye Nianzhen supported Luo Shui, who looked like he was about to collapse, and looked at his face with a worried expression.

Luo Shui forced a smile and said in her usual carefree tone, "Of course it's okay, do you want to see who I am? Here, this is the little flower I found, but it's not glowing anymore..."

Ye Nianzhen took the small flower. For a moment, she heard a buzzing sound in her mind, like an instrument being connected to an electric current, but then there was no response. She tried to call the system, but there was still no reaction.

Ye Nianzhen asked Luo Shui, "Did something happen to you? Because we couldn't see you from the outside just now. It seems like you disappeared after entering the invisible wall!"

Luo Shui recalled the scene she had witnessed and instinctively felt it wasn't convenient to tell anyone, so she shook her head: "I fainted after I came in, and when I woke up I was holding this flower in my hand. Nothing else happened."

His tone was actually a bit stiff, so Mingyuan looked at him suspiciously, but he didn't say anything more.

"Okay, then it should be fine. Let's head back first and discuss the flower when we get back."

Ye Nianzhen led the way out, because Luo Shui seemed to have recovered a lot and no longer needed her support. After they reached the outside of the factory, Luo Shui lagged behind, and Mingyuan took the opportunity to talk to her.

"Are you dreaming?" he asked Luo Shui.

Luo Shui glanced at Ming Yuan with a surprised expression, then remembered that Ming Yuan had also picked a glowing flower before, so she replied softly, "Yeah, it was a very strange dream. I can't explain what it was, so I didn't tell her."

After saying that, he glanced at Mingyuan and asked, "You too, right?"

Mingyuan nodded, his expression not very good, clearly recalling the terrible dream he had just had, just like Luoshui.

Although the dream was absurd, it was like a nail driven into their hearts, making it difficult for them to regard it as an ordinary dream.

Back at the base, Ye Nianzhen said to let Luo Shui rest first, and everyone went back to their rooms.

Because of this little incident, and given that this was all the information he could get from this base, Ye Nianzhen began to consider heading to the next human base.

She shared this idea with the people at the base. Since the caravan members were mainly responsible for dealing with the orcs, they couldn't go with the caravan this time.

A small team from another base came here to join Ye Nianzhen. When they heard about Ye Nianzhen's request, they volunteered to lead the way.

Although they could only take them to the original base, which was besieged by zombies at the time, because the squad leader's ability was to hide his presence, they escaped first and planned to get reinforcements from another base.

But after finally finding the base they were staying at, the combat strength of the people here was even lower. Their squad was already the weakest in their original base, but here they were the best.

This dissuaded them from seeking help from the base, since it made no difference to sending these people to their deaths.

But these days they have been very worried about the people at their base, and since they can't go back to help, they've been hiding here like deserters.

Now that they had the chance to lead a team of skilled individuals back, a long-lost hope rekindled in their hearts. Although... logically speaking, even if their base hadn't been breached by zombies, the food in the city should have run out, and it was unlikely that anyone would have survived until now...

No matter what, they had to go back and take one last look before they would be satisfied.

The squad leader explained the situation to Ye Nianzhen and the others, and said that if things had gotten to the worst point, they would lead the way to other human bases, as they had been to other bases before.

Ye Nianzhen nodded and said to them, "Then I'll have to trouble you to lead the way."

The matter was settled. Thanks to Ye Nianzhen and the others' efforts in clearing out the monsters and zombies in the surrounding area over the past few days, there was almost no danger in the vicinity, and the people here could live a better life.
