Chapter Twenty-Eight: Wild Dogs



The footsteps approached him slowly and steadily, one step at a time.

Mu Guang was not fully conscious and could not distinguish whether the person was male or female, tall or short, fat or thin.

He felt a foot step on his cheek, the pressure increasing.

The man spoke coldly; it was a woman's voice: "...Who sent you? What is your purpose?"

"Heh." Mu Guang chuckled coldly, his throat aching.

Ye Nianzhen kicked his face, then asked again, "Who is your master! Where are they now!"

Mu Guang's head was tilted to one side, a sharp pain emanating from his forehead, mingling with sweat.

"Get lost, you filthy old woman," he replied sarcastically.

"Very good." Ye Nianzhen smiled instead of getting angry.

She grabbed the man's hair and pulled him up from the ground. In the darkness, their eyes met.

"You think I don't know? They've gone to the northern base, haven't they, Mu Guang?"

Mu Guang's pupils constricted, and an uncontrollable look of disbelief crept across his face.

Ye Nianzhen pressed on, "How do you think I could possibly know all your weaknesses? Hmm?"

She patted the man's cheek dismissively: "A stray dog, thinking he has a home?"

After saying that, she casually threw the man on the ground: "I'll give you one night to think it over."

She opened the tent door, and the faint light from outside shone in, casting a huge shadow on the ground.

The shadow completely enveloped the semi-conscious person on the ground, and after the door closed, they were plunged into boundless darkness.

Mu Guang was thrown onto the vomit, getting covered in it and looking utterly disheveled.

But he eventually succumbed to exhaustion and fell into a coma.
