"Bang bang bang—"
A gentle knock sounded on the door, and Lan Meixuan's voice was soft.
Chen Jiayi opened the door, and Lan Meixuan smiled and said, "Jiayi? What are you doing? Do you want to go shopping with Mom?"
"Okay." She nodded and prepared to go downstairs.
Lan Meixuan sighed and pushed Chen Jiayi back into the room.
"You're going out dressed like that?"
Chen Jiayi looked down at her shirt and jeans, both of which were new clothes.
Is there a problem?
"Come here, Mom will pick out a set for you."
Lan Meixuan took a light brown dress out of the closet.
"Here, you can try it."
Chen Jiayi has rarely worn skirts since she was a child, as skirts are inconvenient for working.
She felt embarrassed to refuse Lan Meixuan's kindness, so she took the dress and went to the changing room to change.
She looked at herself in the mirror and always felt awkward.
Seeing that Chen Jiayi hadn't come out, Lan Meixuan gently called out Chen Jiayi's name.
Chen Jiayi felt embarrassed to keep Lan Meixuan waiting outside, so she came out hesitantly.
Lan Meixuan's eyes lit up when she saw Chen Jiayi wearing a dress!
"Jiayi, you look so beautiful in this dress! You would look even better with a necklace."
Embarrassed by the teasing, Chen Jiayi asked softly, "Does it really look good?"
She looked at herself in the mirror and felt that she had a plain and unsophisticated appearance and her skin was not fair enough.
Is this really good-looking?
Chen Jiayi couldn't help but question herself.
Lan Meixuan exclaimed in surprise, "Of course! You look beautiful in this dress. If you don't believe me, go ask Aunt Wang!"
"Okay, put on this necklace, let's go shopping. Girls should be confident, you are the most beautiful!"
