Chen Jiayi asked with some curiosity, "Aunt Wang, why are you so happy?"
Wang Shuting smiled and said, "My daughter said she wants to come to the city to see me, and I'm so happy."
Wang Shuting's daughter?
Chen Jiayi thought about it for a moment, and realized that she hadn't seen Aunt Wang's daughter for a long time.
Upon learning that Li Yan was coming, Chen Jiayi raised an eyebrow and asked enthusiastically, "Aunt Wang, when is your daughter coming?"
"She'll be resting for the next two days, tomorrow."
Wang Shuting answered subconsciously, and then heard Chen Jiayi say that she would be given a holiday.
Wang Shuting smiled broadly, thinking to herself how kind the young lady was and how good the Chen family was.
After Chen Jiayi finished speaking, she turned around and went back to her room.
She planned to pick out some clothes that she had never worn and send them to her sister-in-law.
My sister-in-law is new here and doesn't have much money, so she definitely can't afford to buy clothes.
The job that Xu Cuihua's mother introduced to her was not bad, except that it was tiring.
After Chen Jiayi finished packing, she thought about how Xu Cuihua would have to work and would definitely not want to wear these clothes to work.
She picked out a few sets of casual clothes that she had worn once or twice, intending to take them to Xu Cuihua.
Lan Meixuan raised an eyebrow in surprise when she saw Chen Jiayi about to go out again.
"It's almost time to eat, where are you going?"
Chen Jiayi waved her hand, "You guys eat first, I'll go deliver some things."
Lan Meixuan glanced at the large bag Chen Jiayi was carrying, and she understood immediately.
"Wait a minute, stop right there."
Chen Jiayi immediately stopped in her tracks.
Lan Meixuan glared at Chen Jiayi.
"Why didn't you ask me when you were going to give her clothes? I have a lot of old clothes in my closet that I've never worn. Pick out a couple for her."
Chen Jiayi chuckled, "I forgot about Mom."
Lan Meixuan shook her head and pointed lightly at Chen Jiayi's head.
.
In Lianhua Town, Li Yan and Li Yu boarded a bus to the city.
They wiped the sweat from their foreheads, and Li Yan looked out the window.
She suddenly frowned and immediately patted the eldest sister sitting to the side.
"Sis, do you think that man is Ding Haowen?"
Li Yu immediately stared at him, and upon closer inspection, it was indeed Ding Haowen.
"It's him, what's wrong?"
Li Yan pursed her lips. "I heard that Ding Haowen divorced Chen Jiayi and married a doctor, is that right?"
Li Yu curled her lip. "What doctor? Their scandalous affair has been known throughout the whole town. That doctor was fired a long time ago."
When Li Yu saw Li Yan looking at Ding Haowen thoughtfully, an ominous premonition rose in her heart.
"You don't have a crush on him, do you? That won't do. Although Ding Haowen is good-looking, he's not honest. Good looks don't matter."
Li Yan came to her senses and said speechlessly, "I'm not that desperate."
She was just thinking about the relationship between Chen Jiayi and Ding Haowen...
Ding Haowen felt someone watching him. He frowned and looked around, but didn't find the gaze directed at him.
He pushed Li Shufang out of the hospital. When Li Shufang saw that her son suddenly stopped moving, she looked up in surprise.
"Haowen, why are you stopping?"
Ding Haowen smiled and shook his head.
"nothing."
Seeing his mother's taciturn nature, Ding Haowen was a little unaccustomed to it for a while.
Li Shufang used to be very talkative, but ever since she learned that she would be confined to a wheelchair, she has become increasingly taciturn.
Ding Haowen actually knew that if he followed Chen Jiahua, his mother's illness could still be cured.
But cancer is a bottomless pit.
The crackdown is strict now, and Ding Haowen is afraid he'll end up in jail.
What will happen to Yuzhu if he goes in?
Ding Haowen offered himself some psychological comfort.
When he finally got home, he found only Li Yuzhu crying. Ding Haowen was shocked and immediately asked Li Yuzhu what was wrong.
"What happened? Where's your mother?"
Li Yuzhu sobbed, "The child is sick, and Mom took him to see a doctor. Didn't you see Mom when you came back?"
Ding Haowen's expression changed. "What illness does the child have? How did he suddenly get sick?"
Ding Haowen was so angry that his vision went black and he fainted.
He's been staying at the hospital with his mother for the past two days; he must not be able to sleep well in a hospital.
When Li Yuzhu saw Ding Haowen faint, she was startled and struggled to decide whether to get up and help him...
Li Shufang, who was sitting in a wheelchair outside, heard the noise. She was anxious and wanted to come in, but there were stones at the door so the wheelchair couldn't get in and she couldn't see what was happening inside the house.
Li Shufang could only wait helplessly at the door. After a long while, Ding Haowen slowly woke up.
Seeing himself still lying on the ground, Ding Haowen was stunned for a moment.
He snapped out of his daze and looked at Li Yuzhu with deep eyes.
Li Yuzhu remembered what her mother said: one should not overexert oneself during postpartum confinement.
She thought Ding Haowen was just too tired and had fallen asleep temporarily; it wasn't a serious matter.
Ding Haowen stood up silently and gave Li Yuzhu a deep look.
Li Yuzhu felt a pang of panic, but she still managed a pale smile and offered a forced explanation.
"Haowen, I just helped you up, but I'm not feeling well after giving birth and I don't have the strength..."
Whether Ding Haowen believed it or not, his expression remained unchanged, and Li Yuzhu couldn't discern his thoughts.
Ding Haowen gave a faint "hmm" and looked at Li Yuzhu, whose figure had changed due to pregnancy and whose face was swollen.
He felt he hadn't wronged Li Yuzhu at all, and he had done his best to take care of her emotional well-being after she became pregnant.
Even when her mother had a conflict with her, Ding Haowen always sided with Li Yuzhu.
He had just fainted from exhaustion, and Li Yuzhu hadn't even covered him with a blanket...
