Chapter 27 How to Compensate You

Knowing he was in the wrong, Cui Ziqi remained silent.

Just as Xia Wan was about to press the matter further, Cui Ziqi's phone rang.

The ringing of the bell was quite jarring in the empty room.

The faint light from the phone on the bedside table made Xia Wan's displeased expression even clearer.

Despite Xia Wan's intense gaze, Cui Ziqi reached for his phone and answered the call without even checking the caller ID.

"Hello."

"Cui Ziqi, if you still want that thing, get your ass to the arena!"

The ship carved its way through the dark sea, waves crashing against its hull, the sound of the waves drifting into the room through the open windows.

Xia Wan noticed that Cui Ziqi's aura had become more imposing.

She didn't hear what was being said on the other end of the phone, but she could vaguely make out that it was Cui Jiyang's voice.

She changed her temperament abruptly, smiling as she sat down next to Cui Ziqi, leaning naturally against his uninjured shoulder and moving closer to his phone.

"Baby, you promised to stay with me tonight, you can't go back on your word."

She deliberately used a high-pitched voice, making it soft and sweet, and her warm breath brushed against Cui Ziqi's ear.

Baby?

Cui Ziqi's ears suddenly turned bright red.

Fortunately, the light was dim, so Xia Wan couldn't see it.

When Cui Jiyang heard Xia Wan's voice on the other end of the phone, he thought about everything that had happened during the day and felt a sense of unease, as if he had swallowed a fly.

He gritted his teeth and spat out a few words, "You should get some rest."

The call ended.

Cui Ziqi moved to the side.

Xia Wan rested her head on his arm.

Xia Wan was dissatisfied and looked up, about to lash out.

Cui Ziqi spoke first, asking, "You gave me water with sleeping pills so you could see Cui Jiyang? What did you talk about?"

He vaguely remembered Zuo Cheng saying that Xia Wan had gone to see Cui Jiyang.

Upon hearing Xia Wan's voice, Cui Jiyang immediately gave in.

This is completely out of character for Cui Jiyang.

What exactly did Xia Wan do?

Xia Wan chuckled and moved closer to Cui Ziqi, saying, "Speaking of which, you owe me another life."

Under Cui Ziqi's questioning gaze, Xia Wan told him without reservation about her meeting with Cui Ziqi that afternoon.

Vivid and expressive, with varied intonation.

She was afraid that Cui Ziqi would forget her kindness.

After saying that, she turned on the bedside lamp, held out the wound in her hand to Cui Ziqi's eyes, and said pitifully:

"I even got hurt because of you, and you're still so cold-blooded, bullying me, and refusing to take responsibility for me..."

She blinked and managed to squeeze out a few tears.

Cui Ziqi's doubts were interrupted by her sudden crying.

The girl pouted, tears streaming down her cheeks, their shimmering light reflecting off the bedside lamp with a blinding gleam.

He felt unconsciously flustered and at a loss, and for the first time, he reflected on himself, wondering if he had really gone too far.

He unconsciously took the girl's hand, his fingertips gently stroking the healthy skin around her wound.

A hoarse and helpless voice sounded in Xia Wan's ear, "How...how do you want me to make it up to you?"

As long as she speaks, as long as she doesn't cry.

He agreed!

"After the charity event, you can move to Haiquan Community and live with me, or I can move to live with you. It's your choice."

The girl's voice was clear and crisp.

Cui Ziqi: ...

A long silence.

Xia Wan frowned, pouted, and pretended to cry.

Cui Ziqi's brow twitched, and she quickly said, "I'll move to Haiquan Community tomorrow."

"I'll move it when I get back tonight."

Xia Wan went further and further.

Cui Ziqi gritted her teeth: "...Fine."

Xia Wan finally smiled and leaned over to hug Cui Ziqi.

"I knew you were a grateful and good child."

Okay... baby?

Cui Ziqi was enveloped in the fresh scent of the girl and was feeling shy when she was shocked by the girl's words about being a "good baby".

His face darkened. "Don't call me baby!"

"What should we call it?" Xia Wan released Cui Ziqi and asked with wide eyes, "Isn't 'baby' good? It makes us seem so close."

Couples often call each other "baby" or "stinky baby."

Looking at Cui Ziqi's dark expression, she realized it wasn't shyness, but rather a genuine dislike of the nickname.

She wouldn't force Cui Ziqi to do anything she didn't like.

"Full name." Cui Ziqi's voice was cold.

Xia Wan shook her head decisively, "We're going to get married eventually, calling each other by our full names would seem too distant. I can't call you husband yet, so I'll just call you Xiao Cui!"

'boom.'

Cui Ziqi lifted the covers and got out of bed from the other side.

It was as if he didn't want to say anything more to her, afraid that he would be so angry that he would die.

Xia Wan, however, was completely unaware. "Where are you going?"

"Go to a charity gala."

"I want to go too!"

She also got up and followed behind Cui Ziqi.

She hadn't taken more than two steps when she suddenly grabbed Cui Ziqi's hand.

Cui Ziqi turned her head to look at her.

Xia Wan: "Should we change our clothes first?"

Cui Ziqi's clothes were a little better; Zuo Cheng had helped him change into a cotton pajama set.

She was in a terrible state; her carefully chosen white dress was now covered in large patches of blood, making her look extremely disheveled.

If they continue like this, they'll definitely become a laughingstock.

They might even be mistaken for murderers!

Cui Ziqi then asked Zuo Cheng to find two sets of clothes, and after changing, the two went downstairs.

Xia Wan changed into a black long dress with a strapless design. Black roses made of black diamonds were tied around the waist, and the skirt hung down naturally. The white diamonds cast sharp light under the lights.

Her long hair fell naturally, covering a large expanse of fair skin on her open back.

Cui Ziqi found a black hair clip from somewhere, studded with lustrous white pearls, and clipped up one side of her hair above her temple, revealing her small and delicate ear. The equally lustrous pearl earrings were full and translucent.

Wearing black gloves, she linked arms with Cui Ziqi, looking like an elegant and sophisticated princess as she followed her prince into the venue.

The sea breeze was even colder at night, pouring in through the open window, and Xia Wan shrank closer to Cui Ziqi.

Cui Ziqi hesitated, then put his arm around her shoulder.

He glanced at the servant beside him, who then went to close the window.

"Luckily it's a long skirt, so my legs aren't too cold, otherwise I'd develop rheumatism later on." Xia Wan muttered to herself, then turned to look at Cui Ziqi, blinking innocently, "But rheumatism in the arms is quite painful too."

Faced with her crazy hints.

Cui Ziqi only gave her a disdainful look, "Such a spoiled brat."

He took off his suit jacket and gently draped it over Xia Wan's shoulders.

Xia Wan smiled and took his arm, "Your warmth makes me feel cozy."

Cui Ziqi's ears turned red again.

Zheng Minghuai, who was watching this scene from not far away, almost crushed the wine glass in his hand.

After Xia Wan went to find Cui Ziqi, the two of them were nowhere to be seen all afternoon.

The two didn't come down until the charity event started, and they had even changed their clothes.

Anyone with eyes can see what happened between them upstairs!

His gaze was deep as he placed the wine glass on the tray of the servant beside him.

He walked towards Xia Wan and the other person.
