Xia Wan remained silent.
No matter how well I phrased it, I couldn't answer that question.
Fortunately, Cui Ziqi did not continue the topic. He glanced disdainfully at the blood-soaked figure in the surveillance footage, then turned to Xia Wan and asked her the question that was on her mind.
"What else did you say?"
Finally, she got to the right time, and Xia Wan made up her mind.
He tossed the remaining half of the blueberry cake onto the coffee table, sat up straight, and stared intently at Cui Ziqi.
This posture made Cui Ziqi instinctively on guard.
For no other reason than that every time Xia Wan made that expression, she would do something that caught him off guard.
Sure enough, Xia Wan's words were a taboo subject for him.
"Fu Li told me about your mother; she's from the You family. Do you know the You family?"
After much thought, Cui Ziqi is a party involved, and he should have the right to participate in the search for his relatives.
Even with God's perspective, the descriptions of supporting characters in the book are limited, so the information she has is also limited.
She had to admit that in this world, she had no power other than a God's-eye view.
If we absolutely have to use our influence and resources to find the person, we have to rely on Cui Ziqi himself.
I thought Cui Ziqi would be very excited to hear this news.
Judging from the fact that he was held hostage by Cui Jiyang using his mother's belongings, it's clear that his mother was a very important person to him.
Give him a chance to find his mother's relatives; he should take it very seriously.
Unfortunately, Xia Wan guessed wrong.
Cui Ziqi was not overjoyed to receive the news; instead, her expression turned ugly.
It was as if he had heard something that was insignificant to him, something he would rather avoid.
"have no idea."
His expression was cold, so cold that Xia Wan felt as if she could see the demon who had just been downstairs.
She was a little stunned, but then wanted to continue the conversation.
The man tilted his head slightly, his icy gaze falling on her face like a sharp sword. She closed her slightly parted lips, not daring to speak.
“My mother is dead. She has nothing to do with any of my families anymore, do you understand?”
Xia Wan frowned slightly and silently met his gaze.
It was still a perfect face, but there was a hint of suppressed anger in her watery eyes.
It seems that he would be very resistant to mentioning any of his relatives.
Even family members on the mother's side whom they had never met.
After being taken home by the Cui family, he lived a life that was neither human nor ghost. Perhaps in his eyes, all his relatives were the same.
She did not mention the You family again.
But she will not give up searching for the You family.
The sound of vibration broke the silence.
Cui Ziqi glanced at her phone, then started working on the computer again.
His fingertips moved across the keyboard with lightning speed.
Xia Wan stared at the four surveillance videos divided on the screen.
One is the gate to the demons, one is inside the study, and one is the corridor outside the study.
There was also an unfamiliar, dimly lit room.
The room was dimly lit, and you could vaguely see several figures moving around.
Xia Wan squinted and leaned closer, trying to get a clear look at the people in that room.
Cui Ziqi looked at the head that was almost touching the screen, raised her hand and placed her warm fingertips on the center of her forehead to stop her from moving forward.
"What are you looking at?"
Xia Wan brushed his hand away, then pointed at the room in horror as if she had seen something.
"This is……"
A beam of white light suddenly shot out from the swaying figure, and in that instant, she was able to see the movement inside the room.
That wasn't an ordinary private room, but a room filled with many props.
The swaying figures were both male and female, and what they had in common was that they were all naked.
Cui Ziqi watched her face turn pale rapidly and slammed the laptop lid shut.
"If I'm not mistaken, there's blood in that room, right?"
I had a vague idea in my mind.
Cui Ziqi didn't answer her question, but just frowned and looked at her.
Xia Wan felt a wave of nausea, but forced herself to continue asking, "This is Fu Li's territory. Are you using this opportunity to expose the shady dealings within the Demon Sect to the police, so that Fu Li can never recover?"
"Forget about what just happened."
Cui Ziqi did not deny it.
He had seen even darker things, and he didn't care at all about the power-for-sex deals here.
But Xia Wan was so frightened by a fleeting image that he began to regret his actions.
I should have watched the security camera footage behind her back.
Xia Wan believed she had read many novels and watched many crime dramas, and had heard about the exchange of power for sex.
But the real scenes are far more shocking than the cold, hard words in the book.
Even someone who grew up in a simple and peaceful environment cannot recreate those terrifying atrocities in their mind, even through imagination.
A single frame that had just flashed by had a powerful visual impact, striking her mind.
Lewd, cruel, painful, bloody...
These are all somewhere where she is now.
It could be next door, or upstairs or downstairs...
Goosebumps rose rapidly as her blood grew colder, and she bit her lip, but the images in her mind wouldn't go away.
Just as Cui Ziqi was thinking of how to comfort her, her lips moved, and her voice became fierce.
"If I had known that I should have stabbed him harder just now!"
She was referring to the knife she used against Fu Li.
He swallowed the words that were about to come out of Cui Ziqi's mouth.
It's hard not to agree with Xia Wan's idea.
He even thought that he should stab Fu Li a few more times, avoiding vital points with each stab, so that Fu Li would not die but would continue to suffer new wounds, which would definitely cause Fu Li a lot of pain.
