When Cui Ziqi rushed to the back mountain, there was no sign of the hungry wolf.
Even the wolf carcasses outside the bungalow were gone.
Only filthy bloodstains were left scattered on the ground, and the sky darkened without warning, with patches of dark clouds slowly moving in from the horizon.
Cui Ziqi's face was frighteningly pale, making her scarlet eyes seem to be bleeding.
The wooden door of the bungalow was wide open, showing signs of damage from a collision.
He stared intently at the doorway, his steps growing heavy, each step seeming to require all his strength.
The room was messy.
The wardrobe was lying on the ground, with a large hole in the door and vicious claw marks left by wolves on the wooden board.
The bed legs were gone, the bed tilted to the ground, and the thin blankets and sheets were piled on the floor, with fresh bloodstains on them.
Xia Wan was not there, but soft fabric stained with blood could still be seen hanging on the broken wooden leg of the bed.
The light pink fabric is from the clothes Xia Wan is wearing today.
Has she been torn to pieces by the hungry wolves?
Cui Ziqi clenched her fists tightly, her torn and bleeding fingers dripping down.
Xia Wan is dead!
She's dead!
Cui Ziqi's suppressed emotions erupted instantly.
His face was tense, his eyes were bloodshot, and his pupils were filled with murderous intent, like a wild beast that could go berserk at any moment.
"The alpha wolf has eaten its fill, it's your turn! What are you hiding for? It's not like we're not going to feed you!"
A clear and beautiful voice suddenly entered the chaotic consciousness.
Cui Ziqi stood frozen in place, listening intently to the sounds outside.
"Hey everyone, what's going on? Why are you all backing away? Are you full?"
The girl's clear voice, like a gentle breeze, suppressed the restlessness within him.
He rushed out the door and turned to look at the roof of the bungalow.
Xia Wan was facing away from him, and he could only see her round head.
"Xia Wan!"
He growled, his voice unconsciously choked with emotion.
Xia Wan turned around.
The wind tousled her hair, the soft strands brushing against her face. She hurriedly tidied it, revealing her bright, sparkling eyes.
"Cui Ziqi, you're here."
She laughed, her voice light and cheerful.
Excitement and joy surged and subsided in her chest like waves, and Cui Ziqi felt as if her breath had almost disappeared in that instant.
He nimbly flipped and leaped onto the roof.
Xia Wan stood up and was about to say something when Cui Ziqi rushed over and hugged her tightly.
The force was so great that it almost fused into a person's bones and blood.
Xia Wan cried out in pain as her waist was tightly gripped by a strong forearm. Her waist was so supple that the force was almost enough to break it.
Cui Ziqi hugged her tightly, burying his face in her shoulder, feeling her gentle body temperature and smelling her fragrant body temperature.
A heart has finally returned to its rightful place.
Tears welled in his eyes, and he suddenly took a breath and bit down hard on Xia Wan's collarbone.
"ah!"
Xia Wan felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder, and the words she wanted to say to comfort Cui Ziqi were choked back.
She slapped Cui Ziqi hard on the back.
"Cui Ziqi, let go of me! It hurts!"
Cui Ziqi didn't let go, but she bit down a little less.
He didn't know how much time had passed before he finally let go, and the strength in his embrace of Xia Wan loosened.
Xia Wan broke free from his embrace and glared at him irritably.

There was only a shallow mark where she was bitten, and she didn't bleed.
Cui Ziqi was still careful with the force she used.
Cui Ziqi didn't take her petty temper seriously at all.
He held Xia Wan's hand tightly with one hand, his gaze fixed on her, unwilling to move an inch.
Xia Wan finally noticed that something was wrong with Cui Ziqi.
She met Cui Ziqi's gaze and saw that he was covered in sweat and his handsome face was as pale as paper. She thought of the injuries he had suffered when she first saw him.
Her heart tightened.
"Does your wound hurt? I brought some medicine. Come on, I'll apply it for you."
Cui Ziqi didn't move.
The howling of wolves came from under the bungalow, and his dark eyes narrowed sharply.
He instinctively pulled Xia Wan behind him, glaring warily at the wolf pack below.
The wolves were startled by Cui Ziqi, baring their teeth and taking two steps back.
But they were much gentler than the previous groups of hungry wolves.
Xia Wan quickly pulled Cui Ziqi back.
"Alright, I've tamed all these wolves. Don't worry, they won't hurt us."
"You tamed it?"
Xia Wan nodded proudly and casually picked up the piece of meat from the ground and threw it down.
A pack of wolves swarmed forward to snatch the piece of meat.
Cui Ziqi then noticed that the rooftop of the bungalow was piled high with meat, and next to the meat was a blood-stained dagger from his wardrobe.
It turned out that Xia Wan had dragged the wolf's corpse down to the roof.
Xia Wan cut the meat into large chunks and led the wolves behind the bungalow, feeding them pieces one by one.
Xia Wan raised her eyebrows and looked up at Cui Ziqi as if seeking praise.
“These wolves are similar to dogs. After being starved for so long, they recognize whoever feeds them as their father. Now they are all my children!”
Actually, it was the system's help that enabled her to tame the wolf pack.
Otherwise, she would have been eaten by these wolves long ago!
Cui Ziqi's lips twitched.
These absurd arguments, coming from Xia Wan's mouth, were strangely fitting!
Xia Wan casually threw all the meat on the roof to the wolves, then pulled Cui Ziqi and jumped off the roof.
She pulled Cui Ziqi into the house, reached into the cabinet that was lying on the floor, rummaged around, and took out a package wrapped in a pillowcase.
She then picked up the bedding from the floor and laid it on the undamaged wooden board of the wardrobe, then called Cui Ziqi over.
