Chapter 30 Jealousy

In just a few words, Xia Zhizhi portrayed Zheng Minghuai's scumbag behavior as Xia Wan's shamelessness.

Xia Wan tilted her head and looked at Xia Zhizhi.

"Little sister, have you forgotten that when I was pursuing Zheng Minghuai, you taught me many of the tricks?"

One fatal blow.

Xia Zhizhi's attempt to save the day instantly became a joke.

Xia Zhizhi bit her lip, frowned as she looked at Xia Wan, a hint of disbelief flashing in her eyes.

She had only tried to befriend Xia Wan that afternoon, thinking that Xia Wan would remember her kindness and wouldn't embarrass her in public.

"My sister acted like she couldn't live without Minghuai, so that's why I..."

Xia Zhizhi hung her head, looking annoyed.

Upon seeing this, Zheng Minghuai felt a sharp, persistent pain in his heart.

He stepped forward to block Xia Zhizhi's path, facing Xia Wan.

"Regardless of whose idea it was, it's true that you're pestering me. Xia Wan, I'm curious, you used to say you couldn't live without me, but now you've turned around and are pestering Cui Ziqi. How much of that is genuine?"

"Sincerity should be reciprocated with sincerity. Whoever is sincere to me, I will naturally give back more sincerity."

She met Zheng Minghuai's gaze indifferently, a hint of disgust flashing in her beautiful eyes.

Are they trying to sow discord between her and Cui Ziqi?

No way!

Cui Ziqi's fingertips lightly traced the fabric of Xia Wan's gloves. The rough texture distracted him, forcing him to suppress the surging... annoyance in his heart!

The thought that Xia Wan had once expressed her love to Zheng Minghuai in the same way she had to him...

A surge of bitter anger welled up within him, regardless of the consequences.

Did she kiss Zheng Minghuai?

Will she take care of him when he is sick?

Will she hug him and comfort him?

...

The deeper Cui Ziqi thought about it, the colder and harder her expression became.

Before Zheng Minghuai could speak, Cui Ziqi coldly said, "What's the point of talking about sincerity with a womanizer?"

He was blunt, and Zheng Minghuai's face turned ashen.

Cui Ziqi turned to look at Xia Wan, "The charity event is about to start, let's go."

He released Xia Wan's hand, then put his arm around her waist, and walked around the three of them to the seats arranged by the organizers.

Xia Wan glanced at the faces of Zheng Minghuai and the other two; they were as black as the bottom of a pot.

She laughed inwardly.

This little pervert has quite a sharp tongue.

Just then, a sharp pain shot through her waist. She gasped softly and looked up at Cui Ziqi.

What are you doing?

Why are you looking at him?

The little pervert's eyes were very unfriendly.

His eyes, as black as an abyss, flickered with a few sparks of fire, and his handsome face clearly showed his displeasure.

Xia Wan smiled and said, "Then I won't look at him, I'll look at you."

Cui Ziqi was dazzled by her smile and subconsciously looked away.

Xia Wan pressed on, tilting her head to look at his tense jaw, "Are you jealous?"

"Eat your head, my foot!"

Cui Ziqi gave a cold and hard retort, raising his hand to straighten her head.

Xia Wan couldn't hold back any longer and burst into laughter.

A silvery voice flowed from her throat and into Cui Ziqi's ears, like a gentle rain that extinguished the fire in his heart little by little.

He glanced at her indifferently, then led her to a random seat, seemingly out of helplessness.

Cui Jiyang has not yet found out Xia Wan's true background.

Seeing how inseparable she and Cui Ziqi were, it was clear that tonight's underground boxing match would not be able to proceed.

Fortunately, he had other preparations.

His sinister gaze swept over the two figures as he turned and left, cane in hand.

Xia Huaidong gave Xia Zhizhi a wink from afar.

Xia Zhizhi clenched her fists and softly apologized to Zheng Minghuai beside her: "Brother Minghuai, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have interrupted."

Zheng Minghuai's icy gaze shifted from Xia Wan's back to Xia Zhizhi, and then warmed.

"You didn't do anything wrong, there's no need to blame yourself." He looked up and saw Xia Huaidong turn and leave, then lowered his head and asked, "Were you with your father?"

Xia Zhizhi bit her lip, looking conflicted, but finally shook her head.

"Dad said he has something to do in a while and won't be able to take care of me."

Zheng Minghuai's face turned cold.

He knew that Xia Huaidong treated Xia Zhizhi badly.

But unexpectedly, Xia Huaidong would abandon Xia Zhizhi in such a formal setting.

He gently took Xia Zhizhi's hand and said, "You'll stay with me tonight. The cruise ship is very big, so don't wander off."

Xia Zhizhi was so moved that she shook his hand back.

"Thank you, Brother Minghuai."

The ceremony is about to begin.

The media personnel were finally allowed in, carrying black cameras that looked like long spears, pointing directly at the charity's table.

"The camera is set up. Today's charity event has gathered elites from all over the country, including wealthy families and government leaders. Just grabbing anyone and asking a couple of questions could make headlines. Don't let me down!"

A reporter in the crowd said to the photographer next to him.

The photographer set up his camera, using his broad back to shield himself from the surging competitors behind him.

Hearing the reporter's words, he added, "What are you talking about? We are only allowed to take pictures from the outside. If the people inside don't come out, who can we interview? If you ask me, just listen to the amount of donations. The people who can get on the ship are all business leaders. Just post the donation amount of any one person online, and it will bring tears to the eyes of countless working people. This will also be a hot topic."

"All the media in Lincheng are here. No matter how high the amount or how many people publish it, it's just a number. Our goal today is to interview people, understand?"

Seeing the reporter's persistence, the photographer didn't want to discourage her confidence.

Anyway, he felt it was unlikely.

"Distinguished guests, friends, it is a great honor for you all to attend this charity event..."

The host's voice was amplified throughout the venue via the sound system.

A sea breeze suddenly rose, and the cruise ship rushed towards a wave, struggling to carve out a path forward in the darkness.

The boat rocked.

Xia Wan subconsciously grabbed the armrest of the seat, forgetting the wound on her palm.

"hiss!"

She let out a soft exclamation, attracting Cui Ziqi's attention.

Feeling his gaze, Xia Wan looked up with a wronged expression and reached out her hand, "It hurts."

The girl's eyes glistened with tears.

Cui Ziqi felt a sharp, knife-like pain cutting through her heart.

He frowned, took Xia Wan's hand, and gently lifted the gauze from her palm. There were traces of blood staining her skin, but it wasn't serious.

"Go back and apply the medicine."

He made a quick decision and pulled Xia Wan to get up.

Xia Wan quickly stopped him, her eyes wide, "So decisive?"

“It’s bleeding.” He pointed to Xia Wan’s palm.

Their commotion wasn't huge, but it still attracted some attention.

Xia Wan felt a little embarrassed and firmly held down Cui Ziqi's hand.

"This little bit of blood is nothing. Sit down first, and you can go back to apply the medicine after you've donated the money."

Cui Ziqi didn't reply, but only frowned as he looked at Xia Wan's hand.

After a few seconds of thought, he placed her hand in his palm and gently pressed his fingertips against the skin around her wound to ease her pain.

"Hang in there a little longer."

For the first time, Xia Wan felt she was being pretentious, and a slight blush rose to her face.

I went too far and made myself embarrassed.

But is Cui Ziqi going to donate to any organization?
